People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

I'm so fucking hyped for this, normally I would've preferred to have watched the original, but seeing as it's still being subbed I might just go the remake route. Time to finally experience the Dragon Ball of sports anime.

I feel like anime industry is starting to be more and more like game industry.
First unnecessary sequels, now remakes ... when will we be receiving remasters ?
Oh, wait a minute.

Nice! This is my childhood anime. I was kind of expecting it to be a bit different, but from the PV it seems almost exactly the same as the old one just with updated coat of paint. Or maybe this is exactly the same one? An HD remake?

Damn, now that makes 3 anime that are getting remakes in 2018 (Captain Tsubasa, Houshin Engi, and Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu). Not to mention, Captain Tsubasa and Houshin Engi manga were both serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump.

Great, maybe... I don't see this reaching the end point... SO why didn't they simply animated the later parts who were never made for TV in the 80s? It's just like tha tannouncement for the new series before the World CUp who turned out to be 90% flashbacks, giving us nothing more than re-enacted short depictions of the first show's matches with the "updgrade" of the back then "pretty" all-digital paint and drawings.
Better make OAVs telling what has not been shown just like Saint Seiya (just keep them OAVs and don't take the road of cheap sat-TV after the first part)

(I am th eonly one who finds Wakabayashi's head form weird? (maybe they'(re trying to stick more to the style?)

SOrry, the place is already taken by Rinkake (who was probably used in some parts for DB).
Also, Inazuma (videogame turned anime) pushed the thing in football domain far beyond what Cpt.Tsubasa did.

@Swagernator Dragon Ball... Kai? (you know, the thing with weir dmusic placement and treated colours + cropped pictures)

@TheServant NOt only digital paint, it'(s easy to see that it was drawn from scratch again. But ain the end, it's yet another re-adaptation of the same amterial that was animated... twice? (maybe three times?)

Since this was officially announced, I have high hopes. Not for this remake, but because I read an article some weeks ago where this was rumored together with a second series (sequel) about the 2018 world cup featuring several of today's football stars (I think they were in talks with Ronaldo, Messi and several others when the article was published)

The mobage is doing extremely well both in Japan and globally simply because it adapts the successful formula of the old games with the command based system.

The Global version just reached a million download recently.

Captain Tsubasa is what you get if you mix Dragonball and soccer together.

Even with all of its faults (10km field, pacing etc), the original Captain Tsubasa anime still remains the superior adaptation of the source material with all of its hypest moments and dat music. Maybe this 2018 version can top it, but it'd be hard.

It'll really suck if it doesn't even make it to the end of what the first anime did, and even then. As cool as it would be to get an adaption of the manga exclusive series. The space between the first chapter and the end of road to 2002 is like 70 volumes. I honestly can't imagine they're going for that, not in the slightest.
