EXPLANATION


HOW TO PLAY / RULES:
Please take your time and read these rules carefully, as of the challenges' complex nature.

  1. Start by picking a manga you like and indicate the date you will be starting the challenge. (updated!)
    ——— Your starting series can be ongoing/publishing. It needs to have at least one recommendation made by an user!

  2. On that series' MAL page, go to the Recommendations tab

    ——— I.e. Let's say that the first title recommended to your favorite is Naruto. If you have not read it, you would have to read it. However, if you've read it already, then you can skip to the next title. You continue to skip titles until you find one that you've not completed.

    -Challenge Starts-

  3. In the list of recommendations, pick the first title (searching from up to down) with most recommendations.
    Pre-started/On hold/Dropped is allowed but not mandatory! (updated!)

  4. After you are done with the first manga (the one recommended to your favorite), it's time for the next one. For the next title, go to the Recommendations tab of the manga you just finished (the one recommended to your favorite) and read the most recommended one you have not completed yet, as you did for the previous.

  5. If there are manga titles, which are recommended an equal amount of times, you may choose which one you want to read next - since they are probably sorted after the date the recommendation was made by an user.

  6. Indicate the date you finished the series next to the manga's title.

  7. Continue to do this until you have read:
    5 series = Easy
    10 series = Medium
    20 series = Hard
    30 series = Conquered

  8. You can continue your list with the initial pick for the next difficulty stage. (Clarification below added!)
    (i.e. 5 -> Easy +5= 10 -> Medium stage completed +10= 20 -> Hard stage completed, etc.)

    - You can a) upgrade your difficulty by continuing with the same initial pick you started the chain of recommendation or b) you can choose a different title for each difficulty you want to attempt.

    a)
    - For Easy: You complete five (5) recommendations.
    You are ready to turn in for Easy.
    - For Medium: You continue your Easy route and read five (5) additional recs in their respective order (you have to read 10 recommendations in total).
    You are ready to upgrade your Easy turn-in into Medium. Now you've completed Easy + Medium.
    For Hard: You continue your Medium route and read ten (10) additional recs in their respective order (you have to read 20 recommendations in total).
    You are ready to upgrade your Medium turn-in into Hard. Now you've completed Easy + Medium + Hard.
    For Conquered: You continue your Hard route and read ten (10) additional recs in their respective order (you have to read 30 recommendations in total).
    You are ready to upgrade your Hard turn-in into Conquered. Now you've completed Easy + Medium + Hard + Conquered and finished the first run of the challenge.

    OR
    b)
    - If you decide to not want to (or cannot) continue with your initial pick: Each difficulty will require the total amount of recommendations as listed above.
    If you choose not to continue with your initial pick you can start with a new pick for every difficulty, meaning after you complete the 5 recommendations for Easy, you start over with Medium and read 10 recommendations (15 recommendations total). Then you can start over with Hard and read 20 recommendations (35 recommendations total). You can start over again with Conquered and read 30 recommendations for that specific difficulty (65 recommendations in total for all difficulties).

    You can also combine both ways, meaning you finish i.e. Easy+Medium for Medium with the same pick, and start Hard with a new pick.

  9. If you come to a "dead end" (meaning you have completed everything that is recommended), you should return to the previous series and read the next item recommended that you haven't read yet. If you still reach a dead end, you may go on with an autorec from your latest finished title that was recommended to you. (Screenshot suggested)

  10. You can read multiple titles from the list at the same time, but you can't "skip around". This means that you cannot finish the title that you would eventually get to complete until you finish the title that would lead you to that manga.

    - Example: Nichijou leads to Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, then Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou leads to Gintama. If you have yet to read any of those manga, that means you are following this pattern, so you cannot finish Gintama unless you have completed Nichijou and Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou.

  11. This challenge can overlap with other challenges.

    EXCEPTIONS:

  12. If a second (or later) season is recommended but you have not read all of the earlier seasons/prequels, you may read it's earliest unread season and continue the challenge from its recommendations.
    ——— I.e. Kuroko no Basket: Extra Game is recommended, but you haven't read the prequel Kuroko no Basket yet. You'll read Kuroko no Basket instead and continue on from that one's recommendations.

  13. Ongoing/publishing manga can be skipped (as in, pick the next series on the recommendation list that you have not finished yet) if you want. Otherwise you have to be caught up with the latest chapter at the time of your turn-in.

  14. If you choose not to skip an ongoing/publishing manga, as the rules stated above: one can only proceed to the next manga once one has been caught up with the latest released chapter (state chapter and date when you 'finished' the manga).

  15. Manga with 20+ Volumes can be skipped - we aren't that sadistic.

HOW TO PLAY / RULES:
Please take your time and read these rules carefully, as of the challenges' complex nature.

  1. Start by picking a manga you like and indicate the date you will be starting the challenge. (updated!)
    ——— Your starting series can be ongoing/publishing. It needs to have at least one recommendation made by an user!

  2. On that series' MAL page, go to the Recommendations tab

    ——— I.e. Let's say that the first title recommended to your favorite is Naruto. If you have not read it, you would have to read it. However, if you've read it already, then you can skip to the next title. You continue to skip titles until you find one that you've not completed.

    -Challenge Starts-

  3. In the list of recommendations, pick the first title (searching from up to down) with most recommendations.
    Pre-started/On hold/Dropped is allowed but not mandatory! (updated!)

  4. After you are done with the first manga (the one recommended to your favorite), it's time for the next one. For the next title, go to the Recommendations tab of the manga you just finished (the one recommended to your favorite) and read the most recommended one you have not completed yet, as you did for the previous.

  5. If there are manga titles, which are recommended an equal amount of times, you may choose which one you want to read next - since they are probably sorted after the date the recommendation was made by an user.

  6. Indicate the date you finished the series next to the manga's title.

  7. Continue to do this until you have read:
    5 series = Easy
    10 series = Medium
    20 series = Hard
    30 series = Conquered

  8. If you come to a "dead end" (meaning you have completed everything that is recommended), you should return to the previous series and read the next item recommended that you haven't read yet.   9. You can continue your list for the next difficulty stage.
    (i.e. 5 -> Easy +5= 10 -> Medium stage completed +10= 20 -> Hard stage completed, etc.)

  10. You can read multiple titles from the list at the same time, but you can't "skip around". This means that you cannot finish the title that you would eventually get to complete until you finish the title that would lead you to that manga.

    - Example: Nichijou leads to Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, then Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou leads to Gintama. If you have yet to read any of those manga, that means you are following this pattern, so you cannot finish Gintama unless you have completed Nichijou and Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou.

  11. This challenge can overlap with other challenges.

    EXCEPTIONS:

  12. If a second (or later) season is recommended but you have not read all of the earlier seasons/prequels, you may read it's earliest unread season and continue the challenge from its recommendations.
    ——— I.e. Kuroko no Basket: Extra Game is recommended, but you haven't read the prequel Kuroko no Basket yet. You'll read Kuroko no Basket instead and continue on from that one's recommendations.

  13. Ongoing/publishing manga can be skipped (as in, pick the next series on the recommendation list that you have not finished yet) if you want. Otherwise you have to be caught up with the latest chapter at the time of your turn-in.
