Alichino COULD have been amazing… but unfortunately it was never truly finished. It does say on MAL that it ended at 3 books, but it wasn't SUPPOSE to. There was still much more to the plot left on said. According to a website, the mangaka broke his drawing arm and the series was put on haitus… but maybe they just gave up on it.

However, it had great promise I thought. The artwork is absolutely stunning. If I got this series, though unfinished, it would be for the gorgeous character designs. Each one looks much different then the other, the mangaka paid great attention to detail. read more

I'm in love with Kouyu Shurei's art. *_* I saw her art on the cover of Return to the Labyrinth, which I didn't read cause the inside wasn't nearly as pretty. XD And then I found Alichino at my library and it completed my soul. \(^O^)/ It's the greatest manga I have ever read. But I've heard rumors that it might not be continued, which destroys my soul. :(

Anyways, if you love extremely beautiful art and confusing but awesome storylines you should read this manga. =]

Preliminary
The synopsis about 'beautiful creatures' and the stunning artwork on the cover gave me high hopes for this manga.
It's too bad I just can't seem to get into this story, even after reading it twice.
I disliked the fact that the story starts of too slow, that it became boring. With a slow story like that, it' get's hard to find a likeable character.

What I did like about this manga was the AMAZING artwork, however I'm afraid that's just not enough to make me buy the second volume.

Preliminary
I dropped this manga because the I felt like the story was talking about this big thing that's supposed to be kept secret from the reader. I know that keeping secrets from the reader can make for good plot twists, but if it's not a drawn-out action series, and it goes on for more than 5 chapters, it makes for an interest-losing device.

The eyes on the people bothered me. Everything was so detailed, but then the eyes just put everything out of whack. HUGE eyes does not make for a "beautiful" person. And a lot of the panels were just black, or a close up read more
