Holy shit, the training got really intense this episode. The way the robot arms hits the ball back and forth...damn.

The OST was brilliant as usual.

The episode imo was pretty good with the tournament. China mentions that Smile is a major threat/competition and I don't doubt him. China regained his confidence and kicked some ass with 11-2. China vs. Peco's rematch was quite something imo. The guy really improved since their first encounter. His back flip hit was nice. Really well paced episode overall imo. The OST comes out soon too and I can't wait to get it.

Epic episode, the match against Wenge and Hoshino was awesome. The soundtrack over the course of the episode was great as well. Overall the episode was perfect for me. It will be interesting to see how far Smile and Hoshino have come after all that training that they have done. I think Kazama is still going to be hard to defeat though, I wonder who he will be playing against in the next matches and if he can be beaten.

Friggin EPIC!!!

I totally didn't expect Peco to be the one facing off against all the big shots. He definitely seems like the hero now, needing to go through all the obstacles to reach the final Boss Smile :O

The way he acted confident in front of his trainer then was like "Shit! Are u kidding me" when he was alone was awesomely done hehe

WHY Did Kong have to be in the second round only T_T?!?! I really love the dude. Really felt bad that he lost after all that training :( The part he realized he's gonna lose and told Peco to say hello to Kazama for him was really emotional :*( His monologue made it even better.

Peco has become amazingly BA now!! And he's going to be taking Kazama out for sure XD Can't wait to see everyone's reaction to Peco OWNING HIM!!! :D

Smile saying "Welcome back hero" was so touching >.< He was waiting for his return all this time and he's confident he'll be facing him in the finals now :D

I can totally see Peco winning this tourney now. He's having MC plot armor surrounding him from every side XD

It's a shame Wenge got eliminated, although from the match-ups I kind of expected it to happen.

I can't imagine Smile being beaten though if he stays the way he is.

I don't think the final outcome really matters, as long as those two get to play ping pong together again.

Hard work+talent>>super hard work

The chosen ones blessed by the heavens, the 1%, the alpha and the omega, they are on a different plane of existence than the filthy commoners, they taking the first step into the unknown, leading the way and illuminating the path for everyone else, opening up "the path of success".

Kong is finished, he should become a ping pong teacher/coach instead.
Peco has bloomed and will defeat the robot.

I think it will be armored with the foreshadowing that was told last ep with what happened to Koizumi in his match.

I loved that line :) The hero has returned! It was also cute to see the very end, with Peco playing the hero. Peco sure has come far too, the way he told Wenge "you taught me how to fly." It was also a little heartbreaking to see Wenge lose, especially when he said "I leave Kazama to you" (though the translation was "Say hi to Kazama for me."). But even if he lost, I think Wenge gained a lot from this experience in Japan, and I'm sure he thinks the same way too.

Lastly, Smile's joke was pretty funny, when he said, "I lost" and Koizumi's all like, "huh??"

It's really going to suck when this show ends...
On to the episode: The way this show uses its characters is just amazing. The animation for this episode was superb. The match between Pecos and Wenger was so hard for me 2 take cause I didn't know who to root for due the author making every character in this show the main character in there own special way. The final shot by wenge was just so sad , really hope his future is a great one in Japan. 5/5 episode can't wait for the finale.

I knew Peco was the hero. Smiles really looked up to him when he was young, that welcome back hero line was pretty cool. I'm now almost completely sure that it will be Peco and Smiles at the finals. I want Ryuichi to lose and change his ways on how he deals with his team and those close to him.
I just don't want a repeat of what happened in the past. And I have no idea right now who would win between Peco and Smiles.

I'm without a doubt going to be rewatching the first 10 episodes right before the 11th comes out.

Wenge's first match was awesome. Those spins he put on the ball and the tactics he used were nice to see.

Peco acting tough in front of his coach and then thinking of his predicament alone in the corner was quite funny. Hahaha!

Epic match between Wenge and Peco. Loved how Smile was observing that match and said, "Welcome back, hero." Nice!

Damn, I feel bad for Wenge. He's too great to lose out only in the second round.
That moment when he realized he's going to lose and said "Say hi to Kazama" in Chinese to Peco was so touching, especially when he was thinking of going back to his home country.. (._.)

Great episode. Peco returns with an amazing form. Looking forward to his match against Kazama and Smile.

I hope Wenge will still stay in Japan and Sakuma will come back eventually. That'll be really great!

Fantastic episode with stunning direction by Yuasa. Probably one of the best episodes so far if not THE best yet. It's kinda incredible when you consider that an anime with what one could consider a sloppy art style has such carefully designed scenes with weight and symbolism. This series really has been a surprise for me and it makes me realize that I need to watch Kaiba soon.

This show is going toward 10/10 for me. This episode was absolutely amazing. Too bad for Kong, I'm really sad that he lost. So overall this is one of the fewest "spokon" where the talent surpasses the love/training for the sport.

I bet Tsukimoto and Peco's match will be something indescribable.

Dammnit, Wenge, my heart was bleeding for him though the match was epicly shot and Peco finally caught his wind.

And it seems from the foreshadowing on Peco's knee that it'll end up the same situation with Smile as Koizumi had with the Kaio head person. For such a robotic person, Smile's sympathy is always his downfall.

Kong has had such amazing character development up to this point. He started out really unlikable in my opinion but when the layers started to peel back and we begin to understand him better, one has to begin to like him. Juxtapose that with how as we begin to understand and accept Kong, he begins to understand and accept himself and his failures and you get my favorite character in the show.

Losing with grace and dignity like he did shows incredible maturity. The realism and maturity of this show as a whole is just a wonder to watch. Easily AOTS.

Why did Peco and Wenge have to play against each other so early on in the tournament? I wanted both of them to win, it broke my heart a little. And Smiles line "Welcome back, hero" was just so heartwarming somehow!
They managed to keep this show constantly great for 8 episodes now, I'm confident they won't screw up at the end and this is going to be my AOTS at least.

The plainly good anime directors should feel about Masaaki Yuasa exactly what the ping pong players feel about Hoshino and Tsukimoto : an immensely talented director can't be reached, even when you're working hard.

Masaaki Yuasa, guaranteed to make something very good out of the ordinary.
