As for the VN, you should download it from Nyaa. The one from Nyaa is Realta Nua. It is fully voice acted and the three routes come as standalone games. Then you should download BL's port of Mirror-Moon's translation patch. The newest version of the patch contains a lot of goods. Here's a link for a quick overview of the features. You can always hit me up if you need more info.
Sorry for the late reply btw. Sent you a friend request, as well if you don't mind. :)
Nice profile picture and cute forum avatar btw ^^
Sorry it's 2 AM and I didn't put as much effort, as I should've in my comment.
Okay, I'll try to make it short.
The current Fate/stay night anime adaptations (F/SN 2006 and the UBW movie), which are both by Studio DEEN, will give off an extremely bad impression and will not provide any useful information to the viewer, due to the butchering of the source material. Which is the Fate/stay night Visual Novel. I know I have rated them very highly on my list. But I tend to overrate a lot of animes, so don't let that fool you. I am also very biased towards all Type-Moon works.
Okay, with that out of the way. I will tell you that the best way to experience Fate/stay night and get ready to watch the UBW TV series adaptation by ufotable and watch Fate/Zero, is to play the visual novel. Though I don't know how much you wan't to get into Fate/ or Type-Moon in general.
If you are going to be serious about it and don't have ~100 hours to finish the visual novel (which is completely understandable), be sure to use the Type-Moon Wiki. That is the method I used 2 months ago and got into Fate/ (and Type-Moon in general). Every single detail that intrigued me, I looked up on it in the wiki. It is a very resourceful place to look for information.
Now regarding Fate/Zero. Back when I watched it, I hopped in straight from the Fate/stay night 2006 anime. I'm currently playing the visual novel, so all I had to rely on to make it enjoyable, was the information I got from the wiki. Fate/Zero is a prequel to the series, but it relies on information from the Fate/stay night visual novel. Watching it as a standalone anime will be enjoyable. But you will not get the full experience. I have seen people rate it lower than they should, because of that. But again, your mileage may vary. I have watched it with some of the knowledge I obtained from the wiki. So you could say that I haven't watched it properly either.
Again, if you require any further explanation, just comment on my profile and I will provide it.
