Synopsis

Eccentric scientist Rintarou Okabe has a never-ending thirst for scientific exploration. Together with his ditzy but well-meaning friend Mayuri Shiina and his roommate Itaru Hashida, Okabe founds the Future Gadget Laboratory in the hopes of creating technological innovations that baffle the human psyche. Despite claims of grandeur, the only notable "gadget" the trio have created is a microwave that has the mystifying power to turn bananas into green goo.

However, when Okabe attends a conference on time travel, he experiences a series of strange events that lead him to believe that there is more to the "Phone Microwave" gadget than meets the eye. Apparently able to send text messages into the past using the microwave, Okabe dabbles further with the "time machine," attracting the ire and attention of the mysterious organization SERN.

Due to the novel discovery, Okabe and his friends find themselves in an ever-present danger. As he works to mitigate the damage his invention has caused to the timeline, Okabe fights a battle to not only save his loved ones but also to preserve his degrading sanity.

This show was so slow and boring at first so i dropped it 4 times before finally got past 12 episodes and rest is history.
This show is really slow to pick up on things but once it does, it never slows down again.
I would argue that the last 12 episodes, was one of the best episodes i've seen in all off anime. It was thrilling and exciting to see the story unfold.

Overall:
Fantastic show, Great Characters, Beautiful story and and a pleasing ending.
If anyone is on similar situation and feels that the show is unbearable and too slow and boring, Push it trough. It will be ...

Mixed Feelings
What if an idiot had a time machine?

Stein's Gate is a weird one. It doesn't have a fantastic plot. In fact, I'd say the plot is what drags it down for me.
But the characters make up for it. The cast have a great dynamic, and most of them are lovable.

I would find it difficult to recommend, however. The length feels a bit stretched; the plot is comprehensible, but the way the characters carry it out is pretty weak; and I think Okabe really drags the story down.
As I mentioned at the start, he's an idiot. I hate that he's so well written that I can't ...

What does it take to make a great show? To be in the top ten best reviewed shows on an incredibly popular webpage dedicated to the art form? I think we can come up with a few necessities, though art always surprises us, as it should.

First, we can try to imagine the viewer might hope to find compelling characters. Maybe a cast of teenagers coming to age, battling the anxieties of being outcasts, unable to find their place in an increasingly interconnected but also alienating society. Perhaps some are fighting against loss, loneliness, family issues, or simply trying to become the unattainable idealized versions of ...
