 An original anime titled Project D was announced by Kadokawa at its Anime Expo booth on Saturday. A promotional video revealed partial staff for the anime. Staff Director: Takuya Satou (Steins;Gate) Character Design: Yoshitoshi Abe (Serial Experment Lain) The original anime centers on technology developer Delida, who wakes up in the future from a cold sleep, but with his girlfriend missing. | The bland title makes it seem like as if it's a temporary one. But the staff is great and the PV is decent so I have moderate hopes for this one. I wonder who's the animating studio? The PV and description makes it seem like a more sci-fi take on BokuMachi's premise |

| I honestly thought this was going to be related to the Initial D series when I read that title. Then I watched the PV and saw the year "2060". OK, could Takumi Fujiwara still be alive and doing street racing at that year? :P OK so this looks like it's going to be a time travel / time leap series of sorts. I'm curious about this now. The staff looks promising already. |
| Shame Abe's designs aren't what they used to be. I really like the older styles, these ones don't seem anywhere near as distinct. |

| When I read SEL and Texhnolyze I thought "Ok, apparently they are trying to make a brutal sci-fi but watered down with cute characters, romance and a time-leap a la Steins;Gate." Then I took a look at the director and it said he did Steins;Gate. Why am I not surprised... Apparently the character designer is the same as in SEL and Texhnolyze. I wouldn't have guessed it just looking at the art. It looks completely different so advertising with SEL and Texhnolyze seems kind of pointless to me, no? |

| If you told me those were ABe designs I wouldn't believe you...what happened to his art style? It looks totally generic and indistinguishable now. And the PV didn't really grab my attention either. I really hope it's good though, I want it to be. Just seeing the word 'Texhnolyze' in the PV made me happy. I just want Despera already... |

| Out of all yesterday’s announcements (and PVs), this is the only that caught my attention... I don’t really care much about the director as I do about Yoshitoshi Abe to be honest. Hopefully Abe will be one doing the series composition and script as well, and not just the designs. Paulo27 said: Shame Abe's designs aren't what they used to be.
