I never even heard of myvideogamelist.com, until I saw it on your profile. I have looked for something like this before, but thanks to you, I now have some place like MAL to have but for video games.

2 week late response because I stopped using MAL and I don't really wanna insinuate anything after this entire thing has pretty much died down, but I do wanna give a few responses to some things (sorry if it's long again).

first is that I really appreciate the kind words you directed towards my review and responses. as for the snark and whatnot, that really was just to get my point across. I tried to stay stern with the idea of "no hard feelings" because I genuinely didn't wanna make you upset with me over a few words that suggest a harsh attitude. the entire point of those harsh/condescending words was just to make sure you understood exactly what I was trying to say, e.g. a positive well-explained review probably wouldn't have even gotten your attention without the direct attacks, and directly pointing fingers at things like words being twisted (and even using the term "propaganda") puts more attention onto your own flaws of logic than if I weren't to directly point them out. of course, this is just my viewpoint, and you'll probably disagree with it. but it's something I've always stuck to because it's worked more times in the past than it's failed (at least for me).
in short, I've always believed that explaining the flaws in someone's logic and then immediately correcting them works a lot better than just explaining what I believe from a standalone perspective, so that's what I did (and from my point of view, it seems it worked quite well in this case).

now what I do wanna say that I think is pretty important is in regard to your idea of "I've never been a fan of comparing against something inferior to explain why something is superior." I disagree with that completely just because you can't at all tell if something is superior or not without comparing it to something inferior. it's why anime elitists say you need to watch a lot of anime just so you can tell exactly what the difference between a good and bad anime is. you can't truly tell what is good and what is bad without experiences in both, and explaining why something is good is most effective when explained alongside something that's bad, before delving into the reasons of why you think the good things are good/the bad things are bad.
that probably sounded confusing, so here's an example I usually give people:
I hated show A. why did I hate it? because I thought the story was boring, didn't go anywhere, and the characters were all flat and one-dimensional. how do I know that? because I've watched show B, which has extremely dynamic characters, an extremely rich story with many layers of greatness, and is extremely well-paced and eventually very conclusive.
had I not watched show B, would I have known show A had such a boring story and flat/one-dimensional characters? maybe, but not to the same extent.
same goes with show A. had I not watched it, would I have thought show B was as amazing as it was? possibly, but again, not to the same extent.
with that kind of logic, it makes sense to have watched both shows, despite knowing that one was far superior to the other. in cases like this, if you're writing a review on a hypothetical "show B," it can make sense to explain how something succeeds in quality over something else by giving examples of failure, and how those failures are corrected. the same applies in an opposite manner, such as explaining how something is a failure by giving examples of successful methods.

also, the reason you gave in quotes mixed with a little boredom and the fact that I wanted to write a serious review for HPT regardless of yours was exactly why I revised my troll review. it may have seemed entirely like a dedicated attack, but I also attempted to write it in a way where people could understand it even without having read yours, which I honestly feel like I did well. really, the attack was just the icing on the cake for me albeit how often your review is indirectly mentioned in mine.

no hard feelings though :)

So far, do you prefer the Nausicaa manga or anime, and should I pour bleach down my peepee?
