Ahaha, this episode was silly in the first half:

Episode felt slow paced again although it's kinda nice to see Kaito's role along with the others in the outdoors. Felt like he was slacking off a bit with his work though XD. Also some awkward fan service..

They add in some things to make it interesting but that's just 1 tenth of a second.
The rest of the episode was all slice of life and only a little bit funny.

The financial struggle continues. So the real battle seems to be between Nagisa and his brother, A-TEC just seems to be caught in the middle. Angelina was brought in to save A-TEC, but she's introduced as a pretty ruthless character, difficult to like despite the fanservice and cutesy behavior at the end. I just hope by the time Nagisa and Angelina start backing Kaito and who remains at A-TEC against his brother(which I assume will happen eventually) I'll still be able to like the two...it's a fine line really.

So basically the reason they want the racing department gone isn't because it costs to much but it's because someone wants the money in his own pockets.
Well what else can you expect from an asshole.
Well someone else of the higher ups should have noticed something fishy is going on and seeing how their old chief responded it seems they already expected something like this to happen.

What i don't understand about A-Tec is why aren't they looking for a new sponsor wouldn't that be the first thing you start looking for when your biggest sponsor pulls out the plug?
Seeing as they are a racing team and they have talented staff their certainly are other companies interested in them.

Man, Sera and his students got it rough. Felt bad for Sera.

Angelina made a good point about being creative instead of using shitload of money, but she's pretty unlikeable.

Nagisa is in a battle with his brother, it seems, i wonder when he will start helping Sera.

Agreed. Much better this episode. I was even considering dropping it, but this episode was interesting enough to keep me going.

Actually A-Tec isn't just a racing team, it's a branch of the academy, and as such is financed by Kirishina. The structure A-Tec can't exist outside of the academy and therefore outside of the company.

Something tells me the guys who left are coming back. If not, they're gonna have to tweak the OP for next week.

Also the business intrigue, restructuring and cutbacks feels very real, as if it's something a massive corporation such as Mitsubishi would have it happen.

The anime proves to be a dark horse in a season with a lot of heavy hitters.

But seriously, whether someone gets A-TEC's budget for himself, that's not how you ask for budget - especially if we're talking about billions. Gotta fix that attitude. And while I understand why the third year engineers are leaving, that PR and operator girls don't have the right to complain. The team's better off without them,

Although it seems A-TEC is just a scapegoat to some higher up wanting more money, I still can't sympathise with them. The fact that they get a huge budget but aren't innovating anything new is mind boggling—plus they asked for more. They're suppose to be geniuses yet they seem so content on just improving upon the engine that brought the very foundation of the company.

Angelina is right, instead of dumping a bunch of money on this engine, they need to go back to the drawing board and make something truly awe inspiring and creative.

So far, the only thing stopping me from dropping it is the business standpoint.

Well, this episode was surprisingly good. I thought about dropping it after the second but I decided to see what will happen in this one, and I am not disappointed. So his brother is stealing money from the company, at least that's what I got to understand from this episode. Also half of the guys leaving was a huge blow to A-Tec, but I am sure they will either return or regret leaving. Because now they will start from scratch.

Yesyesyesyes. The corporate politics stuff was exactly what I was hoping they're going to hone in on and I'm so happy they did!

I hope the anime keeps going in this financial direction, with a nice touch of detail re: office life. It far more refreshing than another generic head-in-the-clouds anime about school kids and rockets and friendship and fighting aliens.

Why not both? Too much corporate lingo and talking heads aren't what this show should be solely about especially since Lay-Duce can actually animate very good spaceship action sequences.

However, This episode was a huge upgrade over the 1st 2 epsiode. I have hope for this show once again.

Cant really blame the kids for leaving but thts why they aint main characters. Look at them all come back during the final mission when they could potentially achieve greatness. Bandwagoners

Cast of thousands has been cut down to a manageable number, so we should get some more in depth development now. Angelina from accounting is an interesting character, ruthless in her business dealings but very eager to take some relationships to the next level... While Nagisa doesn't seem to be interested in her that way, she seemed to have some chemistry with Kaito as well. This episode made it clear that Nagisa is not shutting down ATEC, he's actually finding a way to let it continue so that he can use it as an asset in his struggle for power in the corporation (or perhaps even save the corporation since the actions taken by Nagisa's brother seem to be designed to weaken the structure and prospects of the company).

Man, A-TEC just can't get a break these days....I felt so bad for Sera and the kids :( It really sucks to see that half of them quit even....That really hurt my heart

My theory about Nagisa seems to look more possible with each episode now but man even though he was harsh on Sera in the first half of this episode, what he asked for made a lot of sense to be frank....He may be acting like a huge dick but he's dishing out constructive criticism and advice that will indeed help them in the long run

Angelina is quite the character as well....She's petty hawt (That hotel room scene lol) but she knows what she's doing and I have no doubt in my mind that she's great at her job...In a way I kinda want to ship her with Sera now =P

Overall it was another great episode and I'm looking forward to seeing how A-TEC will move on from here as well as what Nagisa's "brother" is up to

C´mon Kaito, you can´t just go asking money like that without first giving a proper business plan. “…Here are some papers with stuff I need for my project and their cost…… now shut up! And give me the money so I can keep working on it as soon as possible…”

Nagisa still is the best character of the show, now follow my Angelina. By the way, she and Kaito should end up together by the end of show…… yes, for real.

Anyway, I quite enjoyed this episode. Hopefully will get to see more of Nagisa, Iris, and Mizuki next time. I´m a bit intrigue about Iris and her possible relation with Nagisa, as well as the role of Mizuki in the story.

Okay, I would say the comedy went up a bit...when Angelina showed up. Angelina is just another Cougar character that falls for the younger antagonist or protagonist (In this case the antagonist).

The characters are so bland and boring though the villain is the only tolerable character in this lousy anime. I don't understand the characters enough to actually laugh at their unfunny jokes. I only smiled at the jokes during Angelina's introduction.

How am I supposed to take this anime seriously if it's going to keep throwing things at me instead of handing them to me.

Episode 4 is the last chance I am giving this before it's dropped.

Unfortunately, this is falling deeper and deeper into a...uh...crisis. Pun intended.

I kinda understand what the anime is trying to say now and this was a bit less boring than last week's mess, but sitting through it still feels like torture, not being helped by the fact that none of the characters are likable and a few of them unstandable.

Angelina? That new character...I personally didn't like bespectacled bigger sister characters since I first watched anime, she follows in that trail and her antics are really unlikable too, so a prompt fucking off is needed. Fuck off. Please fuck off.

A question- A-TEC is supposed to be a bloody cutting edge elite R&D department, then why is the company(which is extremely rich by the looks of things) expecting them not to use up money?

I'm being harsh because I really liked the concept and had high expectations for it. I will continue to watch and hope. Please for the sake of things, get better.

They're both set in some unknown future and focused on a group of engineers working to save their club/class, although R;N was about building a robot whilst this is about fixing...something I forgot. They both have conspiracies going on underneath all the class antics. They both have a lot of world-building and love for machines.

They're also similar in that they both bore me to tears because they spend too much time on talking at the expense of story and the humor doesn't make me laugh.

Angelina may be right in what she says. She may be 100% on the mark, but it doesn't change the fact that she's a massive cunt. A huge cunt with a killer bod.

I'm pretty much sold on my theory that Nagisa is a bastard son of a mistress. The way the "brother" told Nagisa not to address him as such seems to confirm it. He probably doesn't like the fact that Nagisa, a half-brother who was probably the son of a mistress, is entitled to all of the same family rights as him. As a way to scorn him he's been giving Nagisa all these shit assignments, only to have the tables turned when Nagisa succeeds time after time.

And now it seems like the piece of shit is secretly destroying A-TEC and embezzling money for his own profit. Not a single person in the company besides him knows about it, so all of that money that doesn't exist in the books is most likely going into his pocket. I also wouldn't doubt that he's attacking A-TEC to get back at his father (one of the founders) for having a son out of an affair, or at least some stupid ass reason of a similar caliber.

The best episode yet.
Made me rethink my decision to drop it, maybe it does get a bit more interesting after all.

A-TEC team sure got what was coming to them. Angelina made them realize just how much money they actually "wasted" without thinking about the consequences.
Now they're down to half their team and I wonder what direction the show will take. Probably one more episode of depression until they get things going again.

Good episode imo. I can understand the students who left; they're thinking of their cvs and I'm assuming job hunting is pretty cutthroat in space so every bit of time wasted working in subpar conditions may hurt your chances. I don't think they were any less part of the team before, but I'm glad they chose to leave now instead of staying and poisoning the air later.

But what are the remaining A-TEC going to work on now? They don't have the funds, people or tools to continue with their current project so they really have to get creative to find a new direction. Still, fewer people means potentially more development time to each character so I'll be looking forward to it :)

Hattori seems to have a history with Nagisa, and those scars on is back indicate something more sinister happened back when he was shipped out to the outer worlds to deal with company crisis'.

Love the mention of corporate espionage and budget cuts. This show is exactly what I expected it to be. Cannot wait to see Nagisa's plans to take over from hiss brother. Not to mention where the heck those millions of dollars in funds have gone.
