I'm good Miro! Ended up having to shift my whole anime list to another account, which is why I had to resend the friend request lol. It's a long story with little payoff haha

Still ongoing. Gotta celebrate Christmas with the in laws this weekend. And then next weekend flying out to Hawaii to see my folks for a week. I'm sure in two weeks I'll be homicidal.
Suppose to get 3 degrees tomorrow night, I think that might be a record low in the last few years at least. Going from that to 80 degree weather is going to be brutal.

What do you expect from the MAPPA adaptation?

✨ HAPPY NEW YEAR ✨

I literally logged in just for NY greetings bc I haven't been on for so long lmao I'm going 'properly' reply when I'm 'properly' back on MAL again! (ᗒᗨᗕ)

I hope you've been well and that you ended the last and begun this year wonderfully! And I hope for many more in depth fangirling about our faves (and perhaps even that elusive Space Brothers marathon haha) 💞

wHAT IS YOUR OPINION FROM bANANA FISH?
Katagari Dec 18, 2017 7:07 PM
I think it's safe to assume that MiA was enjoyed by most users on MAL.
Not as great as The Big Windup or Haikyuu but better than say..forgot what it was called and too lazy to look it up, the bicycle one.
Katagari Dec 17, 2017 5:51 PM
Hmm so hoping to finish up MiA sometime this week. I'll have to admit I am not a fan of it's pacing, for a 13 episode series I expected it to move at a slightly faster pace, though maybe it would be more accurate to say the redundancy gets old fast. The first 7 or 8 episodes its pretty much "we're going to the Abyss" well no shit you only said it every episode. Started Ballroom in the meantime, I like this one better so far.

Thats what I am waiting for =)

I didnt know an anime was being adapted, very nice. Will have to catch up.

Already found it =) Made in Abyss, started it last night. I dislike the character designs but otherwise art is nice. Cute and funny so far.

Banana Fish huh? Ive heard nothing but positive things about it, one of these days I'll actually start it..

Been in the anime mood lately, hunting something to watch but I cant remember what its called. I think its linked by recommendation of a show I've seen so should be easy finding it.

I feel like I appreciated S1 more than I enjoyed it, but I can say for certain that I was truly enjoying S2. There wasn't even a single bad or just "okay" episode. They were all great :)
Ando Nov 5, 2017 9:13 PM
Same! I wish more people watched it. And even less people have seen all of Rakugo, which I've recently finished! I had no idea I would love it as much as I did when I first started it, but S2 was amazing episode after amazing episode without any breaks, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's such a beautifully written and directed character-driven drama, and I'm gonna miss it. Episode 11 made me cry ;__;

Hmm yeah, that one probably is a favourite of the season. When it comes to the setting and animation I quite like Mahoutsukai no Yome as well, and don't mind the episodic structure either, both aspects remind me of Natsume actually. But the title ticks me off lmao. I cringe at the romance undertones, especially considering it's not even tagged as such. I just don't see the point of this anime being unnecessarily off-putting with all the mention of 'bride' and 'honeymoon' /sigh. Do you read the manga or have any insights about this?

On the other hand, I'm finding Shoujo Shuumatsu rather enjoyable. I didn't know what to expect from it - and I still don't tbh - but I like what they're doing. It's like a super chill version of Made in Abyss lol. As for Kujira, if I'm not engrossed by the next episode I'll probably put it on hold till it ends, since as you say it's only 12 eps. By contrast, I might drop Mahoutsukai since it'll only be a chore for 2 cours if I'm not enjoying it. Btw, it you don't already follow Hoozuki I'd rec that, it's a great mix of Japanese folklore and comedy.

Now, 3-gatsu no Lion! :D This is the one I'd really recommend that you pick up again if you're not too averse to it. Ironically enough, I dropped it after the first few eps too - wasn't really digging the shogi (unlike say, karuta), no particular loyalties to Honey & Clover, and actually dislike the SHAFT style. Then, for the lack of things to watch, decided to give it another go last week.....and ended up really enjoying it! Shogi alone still isn't exactly thrilling to watch but the character-driven drama is wonderful and so is the development of the protagonist. Honestly, it lowkey gives me a combination of Chihayafuru/SGRS vibes - which is high praise from me! ^v^

Oh and I think you mentioned Shoukoku no Altair to me before? I only recently noticed it's still airing and randomly started it - pretty interesting so far, very reminiscent of Arslan Senki. Are you watching it?

I thought it might Banana Fish, going by your new profile pic! :) It's certainly nice, old materials getting screen adaptations. Gives me hope for the Oofuri sequels I'm forever awaiting. I've actually been meaning to read this manga for a while, so maybe it's about time...
