i think the creators of the episode liked Clear and Present Danger a lot as they totally ripped off that ambush scene on Harry from it, exactly like what happened with Jack Ryan :P

Much better than the previous few episodes, you got a real feeling of despair from this one. Gintama must've got the joke that Madao is only his sunglasses from this episode (same voice actor as Bunji) XD

God ! Why the fuck they had to kill everybody ?

This fight between Bunji and Brandon didn't make any sense. They killed Bunji for no reason , and if they had one , it should've been explained , but no.. they haven't explained anything.

I'm so pissed off !

One of the best episodes in the series. Every other fight was so-so, at best, but Brandon vs. Bunji was full of bullet-dodging, backflips, crazy jumps and manly charges with dual handguns. Madhouse really went all out on making their final showndown cool.

There was no need for words between them. They both knew where they stood and accepted a battle to the death, even though they liked each other. If Brandon hadn't been sent flying from an elevator by Harry, Bunji wouldn't have gone out of control; much like Harry lost it completely once he thought his closest ally had betrayed him.

But the part of the episode that always gets to me is Sherry's death, which was preceded by much assassination failure excitement. Until she died in his arms, you could've been mistaken for believing Harry only viewed her as pawn; used to control Bear. A few episodes before, Harry was shown handing out presents at an orphanage, watched by Sherry, and that made me assume that the last bit of humanity he had was shared with her - and I was right. At least Bear didn't waste his life protecting a man who had only used his daughter as a tool.

Two watery-eyed moments in two episodes. Not bad--especially when I was re-watching the series!

Edit: Also, it's worth noting that Brandon broke the hearts of both a mother AND her daughter. How did he manage this when he barely said more than a few words to either - that is the question. There needs to be a Brandon Heat deodorant, or something.

Wonderful episode. Harry's world collapses all around him and Brandon is slowly desintegrating from the inside. The series is so well written that you almost feel sorry for Harry when poor Sherry dies. It does a good job in showing that even the most horrifying person truly cares about a handful of people.

Mika has big crush on the man who has repeatedly saved her life. I don't think she really is in love as such. In any case, I'm happy the producers didn't give in to the temptation of having Brandon kiss her goodbye or something of the kind. The punch though, was harsh even by Brandon Heat standards.

The sunglasses are always madao's trademark no matter where he is, but to mee it seems like they all want to die. And maybe you shouldn't be kissing in an open area right after an ambush, that could cause problems and in some cases death.

Probably the best episode in the series, emotions were on high the entire time from mika finding out brandon will die and pleadinh for him not to go, harry losing his wife which he actually cared for, to bunji dying like a badass. This was just phenomenal, though i say probably cause i cant tell if i liked this ep or 14 more.

also holy shit this show's mortality rate is gigantic, at the current moment the only named characters alive are brandon, harry, mika, and that one doctor. Im still hoping that there is just some way that brandon will make it out of this and im really hesitant starting the next 2 episodes knowing that hes knocking on deaths doors but this time permanently.

the 3rd act may have had a rough start but this and the previous episode more than make up for it as long as the next 2 are anywhere near as good, if the show can pull off a strong finish im seriously putting this on the same level as trigun

Why prolonging it? Why not just end it there with the bazooka killing Harry... what is the point of killing those Over Kills when they could've just killed Harry and finish this once and for all. Three bazookas, and only couple of Over Kills would be left and that's it, easy to annihilate them all, but nope, plot armor for Harry.

I really dislike scenes like these, when they intentionally don't kill character just because, or, because it will be anti-climactic.

Same with Bear fight, slicing bullets out of thin air at a very close range with impossible reaction time.
The problem I have with this is, I would have understand if they had supernatural reaction, but we're not shown that, so I find it hard to believe that he was able to slice a bullet.

Same with last battle between Brandon and Bunji, all those bullets missing each other.

I know I am ranting, and if we go by this logic then Brandon would've been killed way earlier by Blood War(Brad Wong) when he went in alone.
So yeah, that would conclude my rant and my dislike for intentionally letting characters survive.

I really wanted Mika and Brandon to be together, like a couple...but I know it won't happen, but I wished it would.
Hell you Bunji! I was thinking maybe you would help Brandon in the end...

Let's not shoot the white car that's clearly different from the rest and is obviously being escorted. Let's also show that we actually had more RPGs but decided to not shoot the last car but instead use it on the Orgman. That was a pretty stupid scene.

As for Sherry, her death was predictable and nothing was felt for that oblivious airhead.

quotes As for Sherry, her death was predictable and nothing was felt for that oblivious airhead. quotes

It was felt. She was beautiful. Sometimes being oblivious is best. It keeps one's purity of mind.

For what reason would Harry make her aware of all the bad stuff that's been happening? It'd only make her suffer. Who'd want their loved ones to suffer needlessly? It's not like she can be of help. She probably never wield a gun before. The best help that she can give is to remain beautiful as she is, providing comfort to Harry, which was something ONLY her could do.

Makes her quite valuable, don't think you think? It' natural to feel the loss of something we consider valuable. But it might just be that you were not skilled enough in appraising her value. Gotta practice more.

Harry deserved everything he got in this episode. Brandon vs Bunji was sick.

So when Mika said she loved Brandon...I think she meant love love. Man, I'm going to be a silent protagonist now(this series targets 13-15 year old female minors that give their consent lol). Getting all the ladies.

That duel was hella awesome, but damn this just keeps getting heavier as the conclusion draws near. That moment between Mika and Brandon was really touching, really got me when he told her he was already dead. After that scene of Sherry's life last episode, seeing her die this one was all the more heartbreaking. I at least feel for Harry in that he really cared about her, but otherwise he's still got it coming. It's a thin line because I don't want him to pay until he faces Brandon properly.

Overall it's an okay series. 7/10

Episodes 2 until Brandon's death are great. What comes after is a little bit bland and inferior to how the PS2 game handles the story.

I like how Harry is given more importance than in the game - the Anime's ending is refreshing - but the game's ending is equally satisfying despite its brevity.

Sherry getting shot was very reminiscent of when Daddy was shot at, but Brandon got in the way early in the series. Both had the same shot of him running towards the boss, and both were screaming their name. "BIG DAAADDDY", or in this case "HARRRRYY". I think it was done this way to reflect what has come of Harry. Big Daddy was a loving man who truly wanted to protect his family, and with that he had a friend(family) willing to risk his life to protect him. Harry was a power hungry man who used his 'family' as pawns, and even killed them off ample times. Harry, being the way he's been, does not have a Brandon, he does not have the Brandon either. It was a powerful scene for that reason. However, even though I'm positive you can get feelings for someone that you hadn't had before, I'm confident that the scene where Harry was making out with Sherry early on, looking through her, and thinking of his plans of climbing the ladder with Brandon, I'm sure that scene was there to represent her as a pawn, specifically a pawn to get Bear on his side. I'm sure he could learn to love her through time, and obviously that has happened, but that would've been much more meaningful if they explored their relationship more.

I have to admit, with my angry opinion before stating that I probably wouldn't have anything worth saying again two episodes ago, the anime has stepped up. Not nearly as high as episodes 1-16, the problems I mentioned do pertain still, but it's still been.. better. It's been worth talking about at least. Excited to finish this.

Fight was indeed very lit, easily the best one so far and I think there won't be anything topping it, unless Hary somehow ends up hopping on some roids last minute xD

But shiet, given the nature of this series carnage was to be expected, but I was hoping that at least Sherry would make it.

Another good Brandon v Bunji fight. No clue why Bunji is the only one who gets a worthwhile fight vs Brandon.

Glad Sherry's dead. Now only Harry and Brandon are left to die in each other's arms (this is merely a guess, not an actual spoiler).

And Mika remains annoying af. This whole 13-year old girl falling in love with dead Brandon and wanting to run away and start a family is WEIRD.

Had to root for those "traitors" and assassins there, but it's a shame they were all useless. The only person they managed to kill was Sherry, who isn't relevant to Millennion or its power struggle. It caused Harry some grief though, which was very welcome. The more he suffers, the better >:)

Bunji might stay dead this time, but you never know.

Both Grave and Bunji's bodies were starting to crack and fall apart. I'm starting to see now why Grave doesn't see any future with Mika, since he's already physically falling apart. I'm hoping that he finds some means to maintain himself eventually, but I could see a tragic end where he dies after completing his revenge.

Bear Walken must be frustrated in the afterlife now. He did it all for nothing. Sherry still died.

And I respected you Bunji! I held onto the slight hope he would try to find out the truth on his own and find out Brandon wasn't a traitor. He disappointed me.

Oh dang, an episode with actually good action scenes? If only the whole show could be like this.

Kinda hard to buy that Harry's really broken up about Sherry's death, when every scene they've shared together has just been Harry lying to and manipulating her.
