 Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine is announcing in its 19th issue (pictured), which will go on sale on September 23, that Berserk will go on hiatus. It is planned that the series will return within the first half of 2017. Berserk previously resumed serialization in June of this year, with the magazine featuring a new chapter each month.Kentarou Miura's manga series has been serialized in Young Animal magazine since 1989. It has received multiple anime adaptations, including a 25-episode anime adaptation in 1997 by studio OLM, as well as a movie trilogy animated by Studio 4°C premiering between 2012 and 2013. The most recent anime adaptation premiered in July and was produced by Millepensee and GEMBA, with a sequel slated for Spring 2017. Young Animal magazine published the 38th volume of the manga on June 24, and also announced that the previous 37 volumes would be reprinted as the series resumed publication under a new imprint. Berserk has been licensed in various regions, with Dark Horse licensing the series for North American release in 2003. Crunchyroll simulcast the recent Berserk (2016) TV anime in various regions, while Aniplus HD simulcast the series in Southeast Asian territories. I don't think I'd be able to deal with this AND HxH's hiatuses. At this point, I bet One Piece will end before Berserk does (it'll probably end before HxH as well, for that matter). |

| I think the author almost choked from his own puke when he watched the current adaption. Now he has to rehabilitate in hospital. After that he will probably wait until everybody has forgotten about Berserk to start again in hope that a decent studio will pick up his life-time work next time. |

Considering ODA makes one chapter a week he might have to put one piece on hiatus (but he is probably making tons of money and I don't see this happening with a series being made) and he did say like a year ago the series was only half way written. | Ive put off reading Berserk for a while cuz I keep hearing about the Hiatus that its always on, so when it started up again I decided now was a good time to start. And then it stops again. I understand that mangakas are under alot of pressure but there are a lot like Hiro Mashima and Eiichiro Oda who manage to get a new chapter out EVERY WEEK. Fans pay so they can read these stories so they shouldnt keep putting it off for no reason. At the end of the day, they work in the entertainment industry. So if for some reason they cant get up, they should just STOP instead of putting it on hiatus. Miura just needs to end Berserk, its gone on long enough as it is. If I suddenly told my boss im not working, i'd just get fired... |
