Hey, thanks for the compliment man. There are a lot of reasons why Kimi no na Wa should be nowhere near the top 10, let alone number one, but what really pisses me off is this. If you compared that movie and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (the anime with the number 2 spot), and asked yourself which is better, it is flat-out impossible for anyone with a brain to point to Kimi no na Wa.

I'm confident that it'll get to the top 4 eventually. Probably when it's officially released, or when more people see it and get fed up with the circlejerk.

hey man, thanks a LOT for even more kind words XD it really does mean a lot to me knowing people like my writing that much. like really, thanks a ton. not trying to sound too sappy or anything but it is a pretty special feeling to have your work appreciated like that.

if i'm being honest here, i personally prefer writing analyses more than just flat out reviews. i agree completely that it puts everything out there, as opposed to just scratching at the surface and talking about how it does with things as a whole. sometimes, that's enough to truly do a series justice, but other times (quite often, too), it's really not. especially with things like kimi no na wa, where the quality isn't always consistent, or the flaws within the series/film are so different from the "norm" that it's hard to just describe what makes them bad, you have to actually talk about the actual problem itself. in those cases, an analysis NEEDS to be done, and with how much buzz kimi no na wa is getting now, i thought why the hell not.

i've had a couple people mention to me that i should keep up my original review/rant on my blog, but it's really something people don't look at very often. i'm still in the process of looking for a place to keep it where people will see it. but i mean hey, i recently made a fresh new paste of my original review/rant and only shared it to one guy, and despite that, it has 43 unique views, so who knows. maybe people will actually take a look at it if i just throw it up somewhere. unfortunately though, i do agree with you in that the chances of my review actually getting to the front page are quite slim, but i mean hey, anything is possible. my other review had around like, 30? or so upvotes at the time of removal, so you never know. the possibility of a flock of people who either agree with my ideals or had their own ideals changed after reading my analysis is always there, and it could result in me getting a massive burst of upvotes. for now, we can only hope ;D

either way, i do believe the people who deserve to read the review will end up reading it. like, i've already had a few of my other reviews (old ones, from months ago) get upvoted a few times, so it does show that there's people out there who appreciate my work to the point of going out of their way to read more of it. and that's just great. something like that continuing on would be so wonderful for me, and the community as a whole as they'll be able to read more quality content that people agree is quality. :D

either way, i do hope my ideals help the community realize their problems. FMA:B has always been the perfect #1 for MAL simply because it's a series that's almost unanimously agreed to be a good one, even if some people don't LOVE it as much as others (like me, hahaha). but with kimi no na wa, there's already a lot of controversy, despite an average score of 9.40... like holy crap that's just insane. and you know, the entire fact that BRAND NEW shit that just aired not long ago is what's going from nothing all the way to #1... you're absolutely correct that it's a bad look for the community. it's a terrible look for it.

either way, thanks again man. i plan to release a few reviews of series' that aired during this summer season once they're finished airing, so if you're interested in more of my work, look forward to that. glad to be able to talk to you again! =D

I loved your review
Xethora Sep 11, 2016 9:51 AM
thanks for the very kind words man, i appreciate that =). you're 100% right about all that you said. i've done pretty well to not let the mods affect me since i placed my full review in a very convenient spot for everyone on MAL to see with just a couple extra clicks, so hopefully, what the mod did to me will only make them look bad and not me.

either way, thanks again, much appreciated :D

No problem man. So are you watching anything good?

Oink Oink = man, you wrote some awesome reviews for Mushishi and Now and Then, Here and There. Keep up the good work. We need more people like you in the world.

Great recommendation for Angel Beats!/Charlotte. Hahah couldn't have said it better myself.

Well, it maintains the "every other show" trend that PA Works seems to have. At the very least, the next show from PA should - if the trend holds - be fantastic. Silver lining!
