Synopsis

There are words Violet heard on the battlefield, which she cannot forget. These words were given to her by someone she holds dear, more than anyone else. She does not yet know their meaning.

A certain point in time, in the continent of Telesis. The great war which divided the continent into North and South has ended after four years, and the people are welcoming a new generation.

Violet Evergarden, a young girl formerly known as "the weapon," has left the battlefield to start a new life at CH Postal Service. There, she is deeply moved by the work of "Auto Memories Dolls," who carry people's thoughts and convert them into words.

Violet begins her journey as an Auto Memories Doll, and comes face to face with various people's emotions and differing shapes of love. All the while searching for the meaning of those words.

Let me be clear: in my opinion this show is one of the most over hyped, overrated first episodes I have seen. I have not read any source material, so if you are an anime-only viewer perhaps some of my words will resonate with you.

After a single subpar episode this series has somehow managed to crack the top 50 anime. While i know that will degrade in time as most people who have rated this series at this point are die-hard source reader fans, it still upsets me seeing no counterbalance to the reviews which were clearly written by people who read the source read more

As for this show, Violet Evergarden it reminds me of PLASTIC MEMORIES with the way they make your heart strings ever so reberate to them being tugged at the moment the show starts and do not let go till the end.
This show is a good pace off of action but has some yet still keeps your attention. It has great character build up and iIwill continue to watch.
Also, this show has the great art of Made in Abyss so look forward to great scenes. Thats all for now for my review with just the first episode who knows it may read more

I just want to get one thing clear: this, as far as I can tell after watching 2 episodes, is not a fast-paced action anime. It is slow-paced, introspective, and thoughtful. As someone who enjoys dramas like this, in both animated and non-animated forms, I can very much say that I am enjoying this series.

I hadn't even heard of this series until the first episode aired on Netflix, so I don't consider myself as blinded by hype.

The art and sound are both spectacular; some of the best I've experienced in recent years.

The characters seem interesting, but since there are only 2 episodes so read more

Alright so here goes nothing my first ever review of any anime that I have ever watched so far.

Violet Evergarden is a complex anime which may or may not appeal to every type of audience, that being said its none the less enjoyable.

If you're a person who can empathize with the character on screen then boy is this anime for you (PS I have not read any novels related to this anime) there were moments in the 1st episode that simply blew me away, the level of detail, visuals, characters.
The visuals of this anime are great so great that you can feel quality pouring read more
