Boku no Hero Academia

The appearance of "quirks," newly discovered super powers, has been steadily increasing over the years, with 80 percent of humanity possessing various abilities from manipulation of elements to shapeshifting. This leaves the remainder of the world completely powerless, and Izuku Midoriya is one such individual.

Since he was a child, the ambitious middle schooler has wanted nothing more than to be a hero. Izuku's unfair fate leaves him admiring heroes and taking notes on them whenever he can. But it seems that his persistence has borne some fruit: Izuku meets the number one hero and his personal idol, All Might. All Might's quirk is a unique ability that can be inherited, and he has chosen Izuku to be his successor!

Enduring many months of grueling training, Izuku enrolls in UA High, a prestigious high school famous for its excellent hero training program, and this year's freshmen look especially promising. With his bizarre but talented classmates and the looming threat of a villainous organization, Izuku will soon learn what it really means to be a hero.

My Hero Academia starts off slow but as with many shows, a slow start is to be expected. The groundwork is set though for the rest of the series which improves and expands upon the ideas set in this first season. The fight with All Might at the end of the season is definitely the highlight for me. The other fights were fine. Definitely not My hero's best. I like the introduction of the characters though and all their fun interactions. We get some class time together instead of just focusing on the story which I will say the later seasons definitely don't delve into ... class interactions that much so it's nice to see it here.

The adaptation is great. It's not as good as the other seasons but this season was meant to lay the groundwork. It has great atmospheric shots, and the character models stay fairly consistent. Definitely can't say that for a lot of other series. My hero has always stayed consistent (for the most part). The soundtrack is definitely the best thing about the adaptation. Every Yuki Hayashi track is very iconic and definitely my favorite anime soundtrack by far. You Say Run is a highlight (you've all heard it before, but I just had to mention it).

8/10 It may not be My Hero's peak, but it has its own merits. If you don't like this season, you should still watch just for the other seasons because My Hero truly does become great

Mixed Feelings

I remember watching this with my aiblings when it was new. Safe to say, we didn't continue to show. It wasn't that interesting to me. It was just average. Not enough for me to drop the show, but I also didn't care to continue watching or keep up with it.

Saw some cool panels of the manga, but I ultimately didn't care to invest in this series. It wasn't that the plot of characters were bad, I was simply not invested in their character or story. From what I saw on Twitter, the manga had a set of ... really good chapters. However, it's not interesting enough for me to read 300+ chapters and watch all seasons. Plus, it didn't have a conclusion that I liked, so meh.

Just an anime that glorifies bullying and being unkind. a weak pathetic MC who does nothing to help resolve the feelings you get when watching the anime. and an overall dystopian world with no morals or principles, just bland. The author put a little too much personal representation, in how you can tell he keeps rewarding the bullies and the jerks who i am guessing matches his own persona.

watched it several years prior once, as a child. liked it well enough to watch first 4-5 seasons before moving on. As an adult unable to go beyond first 5 mins of the 1st episode. thats ... how cringe and sad it is. especially when you know that all the bullying and spite and hatred simply gets rewarded later on as opposed to being looked down upon or any kind of punishment whatsoever. Deku is simply the absolute worst and least relatable MC i have ever seen in an anime, and i just dont have the heart anymore to watch such cringe shonen. Guess it must be me then.
