Set in an imaginary world, the Earth Land, there exists a Mage Guild called "Fairy Tail." Fairy Tail is stationed in the town Magnolia, residing in the Kingdom of Fiore, and is currently governed by Makarov, Guild's master.

Lucy Heartfilia, a 17-year-old girl, wishes to become a full-fledged mage and join one of the most prestigious Mage Guilds in the world, Fairy Tail.

One day, out of pure coincidence, she meets Natsu Dragneel, a boy who is transportation-sick, but very cheerful in nature. However, the thing she does not know is that Natsu is the closest connection to Fairy Tail, as he is a Mage in Fairy Tail.

Fairy Tail won Animax Asia's Anime of the Year Award in 2010, and the Best Japanese Anime Award and Best French Dubbing Award at the 19th Anime & Manga Grand Prix in 2012.

I hate this anime so much yet I cannot stop watching it in the hope that over two hundred episodes down the line the story will actually develop. I now have to take monthly breaks in between of individual episodes so that I can convince myself that the next episode wont be as bad as the last.

Story: 1/10

If this section of the review is a mess it is because there is no way in words to describe how horrifically bad fairy tails story is and I have therefore just ranted for a while about how bad it is as well as I could.

After watching 175 episodes (minus the potentially suicidal filler arcs) of Fairy Tail, I have come to the conclusion that a total of 3,500 minutes ( roughly translated to 58 HOURS and 20 MINUTES) has been completely and utterly wasted on this horrible excuse of an anime. And in case you're wondering, I am going easy on this since it's a shonen, hell those 3 points are me being MERCIFUL.

This will be a full in-depth analysis to try to understand what exactly makes this show so bad. I will try not to mention "nakama power boosts" and "unkillable characters" as most people think that's read more

I can’t believe i watched the whole thing since is incredible boring and predictable, I only think of “Overrated” to described this anime in a short way. I only watched it since wouldn´t be fair to said that was terrible by episode 80.

Fairy tail has this formula:
- Appears bad guys which are “”invincible”” (yeah sure)
- Bad guys beat all fairy tail members super-fast
- they remember something from the past or someone kidnap/ torture lucy and then natsu power up , MC becomes now invincible ( because friendship) and beats the seriously bad dudes that are way OP for read more

Fairy Tail is another Shounen following faithfully everything that imposes Jump to his works: Protagonist humorous, sub-couples with clear goals to win fans, endless sagas with simple themes and clichés and scenes of humor too exaggerated and boring.
This was introduced into a low season in shounen market and it worked, fans of this genre usually fail to highlight the positives of the anime without even remember some other shounen, which makes it necessarily cliché and repetitive, which already runs the concept "masterpiece" (original and / or revolutionary works). Demystifying you can find thousands of "inspiration" in anime of the same kind in the market.

Anime: One Piece
Very high priority in both titles is loyality, trust and naming Nakama, main characters are near to each other. Very important is that, the both are just comedies.

One of non-many differences is that the OP is about pirates and FT is about mages :)

Anime: Naruto
As well as Naruto, Fairy Tail is going to be the next big thing in anime. Somehow it gives me the same feeling as I'm watching Naruto. There are a lot of characters, a lot of funny moments, and I'm looking forward to the next episode! So I think that if you like Naruto, you may like Fairy Tail too!

Anime: Groove Adventure Rave
The story is from the same creator.
Natsu and Haru, Ellie and Lucy, Gray and Musica are very alike.
Both involve talking creatures.
Both involve magic.
Both involve dragons as well.
Pluu is involved in both animes.
And much more x3

Anime: Soul Eater
The art style and atmosphere are generally similar.

Anime: Naruto: Shippuuden
When I first started to watch fairy tail it reminded me so much of both naruto and naruto: shippuden, the coolest thing about about is that every character resembled a character off of naruto, for example nastu would be naruto, gray would sasuke, Lucy would be sakura and so on, and they both hold a lot of susppense so if you like fairy tail you are definatly going to like naruto
