SynopsisA superficial but kind-hearted celestial mage, Lucy Heartfilia, joins a famous wizarding guild in Magnolia Town called Fairy Tail, where the members use their powers to earn rewards in exchange for fulfilling quests. Here she befriends an impetuous but faithful dragon-slayer wizard, Natsu Dragneel, who is scouring the land for his missing father. The two form a bond with fellow mages Erza Scarlet and Gray Fullbuster, and together they tackle daunting challenges, taking on several powerful allies and foes along the way.
Created by Hiro Mashima, Fairy Tail is an action-packed adventure that follows Lucy and her friends as they learn the value of friendship, forgiveness and family.

You should probably read the review, before you hit the down vote button.
Fairy Tail ~ Another battle shounen anime to join the glorious world of anime. Adapted from the manga written by Hiro Mashima of the same name.
Now before you continue reading I must warn you that if you haven't seen all the episodes or are a huge fan that can't take criticism please refrain from reading this review. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
For those yet reading this review please keep an open mind about what you are going to read.
Initially I did enjoy fairy tail but in the end i started disliking the series. Here are a few reasons why
First of all the arcs are short. Which means there's a lot of things they can't do, bigger story, adventure or exploring, showing more of the side characters, etc. Every arc ends up boring to me and not memorable. The arc size also makes it so predictable. They have to go there without knowing much, be beaten by the enemies easily, get back up and run after them, beat them, a little talk afterwards, then go home.
The fillers, Fairy Tail has horrible fillers. Like the Daphne arc and the Starry Key filler arc. Just unbelievably bad. ABove that the filler arc is the second longest arc in the whole series. For those who might argue that fair tail has "less" fillers let me point out that FT has 38 filler episodes out of a total of 175. That's 21% filler, which is quite a lot.
Lisanna~They took a nice little cute backstory that helped multiple characters and ruined it. Brought her back without a good explanation and then afterwards nothing has changed. She barely talks to Natsu, she isn't important in the story. It was better when she was gone. Her being back and doing nothing basically ruins the whole flashback which was supposed to show how much she thought of Natsu, he thought of her, how Elfman decided to get stronger after losing her, Mirajane changed to be nicer, etc.
There's no training neither any foreshadowing. None of them really change. They were only going to train once but then Mashima said screw you, they're going to instead get powered up in 5 minutes. Natsu had a chance to grow with his powers near the beginning. He learned that he could use his flame to hold things or whatever. He forgot right after, lost a good chance and it hasn't showed up again yet.
Natsu's a horrible character. He's a main protagonist of the worst type, cocky yet can't prove it. Always runs ahead and gets beaten easily by the enemies, then he gets up and is able to beat the main boss of the arc. He needs a power up every fight or he loses, he sometimes has to get insulted until he's angry enough to beat him. Why the hell can't they give him a fire lacrima to use in a fight, he always has to get fire from some inconvenient ways. He even forgave Gajeel after he beat Lucy for like an hour, talked to him all nicely about dragons after their fight.
I couldn't even care about any of the characters. They are contrived, one dimensional, stereotypical and lack even the little bit of depth that the story sometime requires.
Natsu's power is supposed to be unique. Yet, every arc they run into a new dragon slayer. And then they run into god slayers that's powers are even stronger than their dragon slayer counterparts. It's like he's making it up as he goes.
The comedy is annoying. Natsu's vehicle sickness got boring when it screwed up his chance to fight, which was by like the 8th episode. After that it's just been used way too much and has messed with his fighting multiple times since. Gray has to strip every god damn episode, they haven't thought of giving him a jumpsuit or whatever. Everyone elses comedy is boring. The only person who ever says something funny is Happy.
The action sucked, all the fights weren't interesting and of course were full of random powerups and bad comedy. The animation of the fights were mediocre and most fight end in Natsu consuming fire in some convenient way for the plot or getting help from his "nakama" and magically beating the enemy who seemed overpoweringly strong till now.
Story is nothing special. Nothing has really changed since the beginning.
Oh the time skip. I totally forgot about mentioning that. It was horrible, a 7 year skip. They didn't even let the mains train or whatever. They came back and were easily able to beat enemies that had almost beaten them 7 years ago and had been training the whole time they were gone.
All in all Fairy tail happens to be one of the worst battle shounens i have ever seen and this is coming from a guy who has seen a fair amount of shounen.
With this I end my rant.

Those that are done raging between anime/manga adaptions feel free to read. Those who still don't understand why books and movies will ever be the same feel free to go away. With that being said, Fairy Tail is easily the best Shounen anime to date! Take this from a non-hardcore shounen fan. Granted, i do enjoy shounen as a casual viewer (despite me seeing over 3000 shounen eps) but I stand by my statement 100%
Sounds a little bit shallow but please let me elaborate. There have been countless shounen anime throughout the decades. Some lasting a few dozen episodes, others spanning 100's of episodes. Ever since Astro Boy, children all over the world have been enjoying cartoons such as these, but they all had one thing in common, countless flaws. If you are watching any of the big three, you know what they are. Long fights, long story arcs, long recaps, long explanations, annoying characters... basically tricks to extend the length of an anime series.
Fairy Tail takes all those ideas and throws them in the trash. You want short, awesome fights that does not last for weeks? Check! You want story arcs that are full of action, comedy, and a little seriousness? You got it! Most importantly, aren't you tired of characters explaining/chanting their fighting moves every time they use it?!?! I'm looking at you Bleach and One Piece~! Fairy Tail takes all the things that makes watching shounen anime great and throws out all the junk that that makes shounen ...well, junk.
In the beginning, it looks like it is an atypical shounen story of a boy/girl trying their best to improve their skills. Although it has that element, it is all about being part of a team. This team is the mages guild called Fairy Tail. A motley crew of mages with their own unique fighting styles, personalities and looks. There are so many characters in this show, one would find it hard not to like 3-5 characters out of the lot. Watching only 22 episodes, and you will be introduced to over 2 dozen members of fairy tail. Even the way they introduce all of their characters and their powers is awesome. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, such is the case here. It's a shoot first, ask questions later style, which how it SHOULD be.
Since that is the case, less time is taken to explain things you already know and actually put toward story and character development. Another amazing feat done by this anime series... episode recaps last LESS THAN 30 seconds! Talk about innovative! I know purists complain that it "doesn't follow the manga to the word!" but really, what manga does? I may sound like a broken record but if you keep an open mind, you can see this series is a cut above the rest. All arcs are told in typical anime fashion, problem arises and the team must stop them. But I'll be damned if you cant get excited seeing all the action and/or comedy that is packed in to a half hour. It will even manage to surprise you in more ways than one! "Kya!" Comes to mind.
With the sheer number of characters, you would think there would not be enough time or story for all of them. But they all get more than enough airtime considering they're not the main four characters. Natsu, Grey, Lucy, and Happy will of course, be the ones being followed the most, but you will see how much everyone else will be in the shot. My personal favorites are Mirajane and Ezra. On the topic of favorites, you will notice there are a large number of A-list seiyuu participating in this anime series as well. You might notice the voices of Ranka Lee, Taiga Aisaka, Izumi Konata, or even Saya Otonashi, are in here. Main or support, the voice cast can not be ignored.
Another thing that can not be ignored is wide screen format and overall high production value of the animation. Usually quality drops after a few episodes, but for an anime style such as this, it lends itself on opportune times to use low quality animation over high quality and for the most part works amazingly well. It sure might look like One Piece at a glance but if you compare the two, the difference is like night and day. It is actually a little more comparable to Soul Eater if i had to put a comparison to it.
I'm not saying this anime is perfect in any way. Theres a little flaws that nit pickers might see like the "reuse" of certain animated scenes namely the incantations. Or how the "quality" drops in a few scenes. But isn't that the case with ALL anime? Those problems I mentioned are so subtle and minuscule you will only notice them if you're looking for things to hate about watching this show. To be honest, from the first two dozen episodes, there is nothing overly bad from watching this shounen anime. I would normally say its bad simply because it is a shounen anime, but this has everything I wanted fixed in watching a shounen anime. I especially love how they can pull "random" (i.e. filler) episodes off of the guild message board and go with it. It almost resembles an RPG in that sense. Happenstance encounters or weird pauses in story arcs to start a different one are rare in this sense. The players are all in their place and we are there to watch everything flow nice and easy. Here's to hoping this will last a few hundred episodes. read more
Fairy Tail isn't so much a bad anime, it's just over-welcomed it's stay. It was a one trick pony that was constantly played until you get annoyed and see the repetitive nature of the show and it's sad because this had a lot of potential to be really good .
Story - (3/10)
This is one of the weaker aspects of Fairy Tail as it gets daunting and rather boring because there is no real progression, and it becomes incredibly predictable with how it will play out, at first it was pretty fun since the stories did serve a proper purpose and introduced us to some other characters but as it goes on, you feel that it's afraid to make changes to the characters so they just write what they know and that's where the repetitiveness comes from. The gags were funny for the first 20 episodes but then they get really old fast as well as the fanservice, it even gags at important moments, you could have a serious fight but instead have a comedy bit in the middle completely ruining the mood for the fight.
Art - (6/10)
The animation is pretty good for a shounen anime as it can be fast paced and some of the magic does look pretty cool but at the same time, the designs of most characters seem really plain looking, minus maybe 2-3 characters everyone else looks really generic.
Sound - (9/10)
Quite possibly the best thing about Fairy is the sound as it mixes irish folk music with some modern day sounds blending really well and does match the battles that happen, this was something I am glad they kept as it was something very different from the norm. The OP's and ED's were also very nice to listen to and mainly composed of some very energetic pop music.
Characters - (2/10)
This is by far the worst aspect for Fairy Tail, one dimensional, bland, incredibly cliche and just lacked development. I will start off with the main character Natsu who is to me one of the worst MC's in anime ever. He never develops, there is no challenge for him, he doesn't have any conflicts with how he does things its just 'I'll beat the crap out of you' no matter how evil that person is, even if they kill someone he will still treat it more like a sparring match rather than him losing control and losing himself in the process of it, if he's always going to be this guy who doesn't think and just swings away then its going to get really boring really fast.He doesn't so much get stronger but rather uses the power of friendship after making a speech and wins. Lucy is another character I just could not handle because she was just fanservice and a plot device, she didn't get stronger each time, she just gets caught in a messy situation, screams a bit, summons a spirit and that's it, her character seems to be a key for the arc to go through but apart from that she is utterly useless. Now despite all the bashing of the characters I will say that there are some decent characters like Erza, Wendy, Gajeel and Gray because most of them did get stronger and developed and were conflicted with how they did things but even they can fall victim to lousy progression.
Enjoyment - (4/10)
It was fun at first but once the story and comedy repeated all the time, you get sick of it and switch to something else straight away, there is no proper pacing and some arcs went for too long that you don't feel as invested or interested any more to care
Overall - (3/10)
Fairy Tail lacked a lot of important elements and was clearly confused as to what it wanted to be, it was either over the top battle or a comedy, it was too messy to balance both because it couldn't have the comedy at the right time, I wouldn't recommend this anime because it's fallen to the many cliches and doesn't really bring anything solid to the table. read more
Fairy Tail is definitely one of the most popular shounen anime and if you are thinking of watching it based on this fact alone, then I encourage you to read some reviews first. I have one small request, reader. Please try to keep your egos in tact and read the review before evaluating it. We all have our reasons to like or not a show.Thank you. Stay tuned.
I am still amazed at myself that I managed to watch all of this series, but that only indicates that there are some positives to it and I somehow enjoyed it all. What can be said about the story? Nothing really special, a girl named Lucy wants to become a wizard in a famous guild and after she meets Natsu, one of its members, she manages to join him and thus, they form a team and start on taking missions and embark on journeys. Natsu is trying to find his parent, a dragon who raised him and taught him rare magical skills and abilities based on fire. Although the concept of guilds, which is taken from online games is interesting, it is in no way original.
The story progresses in arcs with each arc being connected nicely with the next one and the transition between them feels smooth and logical. The atmosphere and the nature of each arc generally remain the same lighthearted and cheerful vibe following the vibe of the anime on its whole, except for some moments and scenes which need to be dark to show the contradiction between good and evil. Although, the story of each individual arc can be described as cliche, you could at least expect the execution to be masterful for a popular anime like this, right? No, they decided to shit all over the place with the word mediocrity, though there are some glimpses of good storytelling and directing in some arcs, but this is exactly what they are, glimpses. Individual elements of each arc are interesting but the story itself is unoriginal, although how it's told and executed is what counts the most and this show had the potential to be great, but they vomited it all out to appeal to the general public and/or their target group If this was their purpose than they nailed it. Linear, repetitive and predictable storytelling and the use of generic guidelines as in any typical shounen of this type leave no room for the element of surprise for some rare plot twists that might exist. Also the amount of fan service, aka huge breasts for almost every female and semi nudity for males, is staggering at the least. Generally, the arcs are short and leave no room for good development and the pace of each arc is out of place. I felt that some arcs needed faster pace but others slower, go figure. Some episodes are uneventful with no action and on top of that no story or character development of any kind. Dialogues are mediocre and superficial for the most part but there are comedic moments where combined with sound and animation made me actually laugh hard. The blend of action, comedy and drama is mediocre and as I already mentioned "Oh the potential!!!!".
Animation is one of this anime strong parts. For a long running show, it is pretty consistent in quality and is very good. Colors are bright and cheerful which suit the anime very much and they adjust well to the atmosphere and the mood of the scene. Facial expressions are distinct and well portrayed. The designs of characters are unique and suit their personalities quite well which in consequence make them somehow memorable. The only complain I had is in the moment of fight scenes which could be depicted better and in more detail.
My favorite part ironically or not was the sound. My gosh it was incredible!!! I actually searched and downloaded some soundtracks of this anime and I usually don't do that. The sad music and ost's in the epic moments of the anime are just amazing. OP and ED songs are really great you will love them trust me.Incredible is the fact that the soundtracks match their arc themes and the moments of sadness, joy, tension, mystery and action too damn well. There were parts in the anime that wasn't that melodramatic but with the right ost it actually managed to invoke from me a sad emotion. Also, I don't remember any misuse of sound, it was just perfect. Voice actors are all good and for the most part, fit well to the characters.
Fairy Tail's characters is another disappointing fact. We are introduced to a large cast of characters who are one dimensional and static. Main characters are flat and underdeveloped. I understand that combined with short arcs there isn't much room left to develop so many of them, but they could at least try. Every stereotype of this genre can be found in this series, from the typical hotheaded male protagonist to the evil villain who becomes good and changes sides and the fact that most of them remain the same throughout the series makes this show even more predictable. It's impossible to be caught by surprise when you expect for them to act based on their generic stereotype and they act exactly like that in any given situation. The villains of the show are equally as underdeveloped as the main characters. Of course, there are some exceptions and we can see glimpses of good development here and there which are later ruined to the bones. So much good development is so brutally destroyed, that it is frustrating even to imagine the potential of this series. Nonetheless, there are likeable characters whom you will want to cheer for but that doesn't change the fact that most of them are flat and superficial.
The last disappointing fact I want to mention, is the fighting scenes. Battle system is your typical "raw strength+power ups wins" concept. Almost no amount of thought or originality can be traced anywhere. Some abilities are cool, but that's it. The battles are won by overpowering the enemy and no strategical thinking is involved. Superficial and annoyingly tiring dialogues and monologues which ruin the pace of the story take place in every fight scene and I mean literally in EVERY fight scene. I know that concepts like friendship and comradeship are important, don't misunderstand me, but not when they are in excess and feel like they try to nail it in my brain with a drill and on top of that, at the expense of the story. Power levels are confusing as one reviewer stated. There are no trainings but main characters manage to win enemies they shouldn't be able to win like ever. Oh yea, I forgot the power of friendship and nakamas!!! Silly me.
Generally this whole thing can be summed up in 6 steps.
Step 1: A strong enemy appears. MC's are beaten up by the enemy.
Step 2: MC's yell about friendship and the power of nakamas.
Step 3: They power up emotionally and physically by the power of friendship and random stuff.
Step 4: MC's overpower the villain.
Step 5: No training of any kind whatsoever.
Step 6: New arc. Go to step 1.
When an anime can be summed up like this than in my books this is not good at all.
All in all, Fairy Tail generally has a vibe of positivity and lightheartedness. If you like characters that seem cool, raw power, mc's that overpower their enemies who rely on their friends and protect each other, if you like good animation with awesome soundtracks mixed perfectly to every scene, if you liked something like D-Gray Man or Bleach than you should watch this show and I am sure you will enjoy it very much. I definitely recommend this to children, as well. But if you are an experienced anime viewer or if you like intelligence, good story, plot and character development, if you like insane plot twists and strategic battle scenes with complex fighting systems or if you want to watch something of this genre but don't have much time than don't waste it on this and watch something like Hunter x Hunter or Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
*English is not my native language, excuse me for any mistakes. All feedback is appreciated.*
**EDIT** It has been pointed out to me that this review has an elitist tone, this was definitely not my intention and I don't consider myself to be superior or more intelligent than any of you.** read more
Very high priority in both titles is loyality, trust and naming Nakama, main characters are near to each other. Very important is that, the both are just comedies.
One of non-many differences is that the OP is about pirates and FT is about mages :)
Very similar in art, humor, plot and everything goes around "nakama"
- similar artstyle: true it can be seen, and a simple motivation is that Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail's author) and Eiichiro Oda (One Piece's author) are of the same generation who grown up admiring Akira Toriyama (Dragonball's author). Rumors are that their styles were so forged by their worshipping Toriyama; this of cours makes works of both of them share a similar, very cool art style and character design.
- special powers: in a Jump's shonen manga those can't miss. Characters with awesome strong incredible powers are everywhere in both series. In One Piece we have devil fruits which give to their users incredible abilities, while in Fairy Tail we have mages which obviously do use their own magic spells/abilities.
- action: another big part and genre that both series do share.
- purposes: friendship is the main theme which makes an important bond between the main characters in both seasons.
- heroic scenes: One Piece and Fairy Tail do share quite a lot of very awesome heroic scenes.
- female characters: both authors wanted to give to their characters some strong power and/or personalities, differently from many other shonen series where the main female is just needed there to be saved and/or making comical scenes.
Those, and many other, are the shared things by both series, but the above listed are surely the biggest points which deserved to be mentioned.
So, indeed if you liked One Piece you could give a try to Fairy Tail, or viceversa.
Although, while manga series have both a very good art style, when it comes to anime One Piece's animation quality is cured more.
it's not just similar .. i'll say it's exactly the same .. the only difference between them is that one piece is about pirates and fairy tail is about magic ..
Natsu = Luffy (Cheerful Main Protagonist that wants to protect his friends)
Lucy = Nami (Similar Personalities, loves money, but is always being protected by the protaganists)
Gray = Zoro (Serious and Thoughtful)
Erza = Robin (Mysterious Women)
Happy = Chopper (Cute Mascots)
Gildarts = Shanks (Strong, Red Hair Members that are well respected)
Farewell for Laxus in Fantasia (Fairy Tail ep 48) = Farewell to Vivi in Arabasta (One Piece ep 129)
Juvia = Sanji (Crazily in love)
Master = Whitebeard (The way both masters/captains care for their guild/crew)
And to mention that each main character have their own sad pasts on their certain arcs too!
Same Art style , Same main characters , almost the same plot but fairy tail is with guilds and one piece is pirates. but personally fairy tail is a mistake and its so obvious that one piece is way way better
It's impossible to say that Fairy Tail isn't similar to One Piece...
Main Character of both Shows are quite alike (powerful but kinda idiot). The whole Adventure-style plot of both anime's (manga's) are very similar.
Quote by Pokymon: adventure + nakama + power ups..enjoy
Both Fairy Tail and One Piece have extremely similar main characters, who get hungry, eat a lot, and are in search for something. They both have great comedy and unique characters that everyone loves! :D
The drawing style of both anime looks very alike. The main character is a powerful yet a dumb and therefor a funny person. Both anime got the "Nakama" factor.
One piece is about a boy name luffy who becomes and pirate and heads off to find one piece the great treasure and does whatever is necessary for his crew in the other wise.
Fairy Tail, a guild for mages, we follow their story as they face any challenge and adversity. Each member of Fairy Tail will do whatever they can to protect what they cherish the most; their friends. A truly noble goal.
Overall both of the animes are almost the same just with a few substitutions for there powers example
Fairy Tail is very similar to One Piece because both main characters cherish their friends and believe in the concept of Nakama. Both mains would go to the ends of the earth for their Nakama. The comedy/humor aspect is also the same.
The only real difference is that One Piece has Pirates and Fairy Tail has Mages.
both animes are filled with humor and the main character are very alike.
Besides the other the 35 recommendations for this anime, the main reason why Fairy Tail lovers should try One Piece is because of the characters and the atmosphere. The two main protagonists (Natsu from Fairy Tail and Luffy from One pIece) are Comedic and Cheerful. The personality of one character mirrors the other character perfectly. The overall atmosphere of the animes are similar due to the art, music, sounds, and characters.
In short: Every time I watch Fairy Tail, I always think about One Piece.
First off, both are based on long shounen manga series, so they follow a bunch of story arcs in addition to the main goal. The artstyles are quite similar, with characters looking very lanky and lots of wild and colorful animations. Both also have a general theme of friends/teamwork/nakama, with the main teams of the series (Team Natsu for Fairy Tail, Strawhats for One Piece) always working with and fighting for eachother.
It has the same kind of feeling when watching this anime. The character models and personalities are somewhat similar to the characters of One Piece.
Meet Luffy's doppleganger. The story is great, it's all about bonds that grow between nakama, and is filled with hilarity, awesome epic win, and more.
Trust me, if you liked One Piece, you'll like Fairy Tail.
Perhaps the most done rec in this new season, Fairy Tail and One Piece! The first and most obvious similarity, is STYLE. The character drawings, emotion-depicting faces, and character personalities are very similar to each other which is due to the fact that both creators went to the same art school! Luffy and Natsu are both clueless about what goes on around them, but both are overwhelming powerful when serious. Both storm the word "NAKAMA," and care deeply for their companions, close, if not closer, than family. The most common similarity are the eye-pop comedic faces. Whenever something very surprising or unexpected pops up, the characters' eyes will pop out of their heads. Storyline doesn't have much in common, but both are long-term (OP's longer however) and both are equally comical and epic.
if you loved One Piece please try out Fairy Tail its has so many simularitys u may mistake it to be related to one peice in some way :P
The concepts are nearly parallel to each other but one face remains the same One Piece is and always will be better.
They both have a main group of characters, all with their weird quirks and personalities. Plus they both have awesome adventures, good action, an interesting story, and theyre both hilarious.
Both series are very similar to each other. They have similar character designs, the same level of goofy moments and are very whimsical. Both series have a wide arrangement of intense battles and very few deaths.
They use the same recipe, and are both very well made, except that Fairy Tail is intended for a bit more mature audiences.
First of all the styles of drawing they are in are pretty similar.
Also some characters seem to act similar like they did in One Piece.
For example, the Zoro - Sanji relationship is similar to the Natsu - Gray relationship in Fairy Tail.
I really like it, so just watch it ;)
Lots of funny jokes and characters :)
Worth watching !! =^.^=
THe main characters are similar in a way in their peronality, also the animation is very much alike.
The whole atmosphere of the two anime and the genre are very much alike.
Both a fantasy type anime except Fairy Tail is about guilds. One piece and Fairy Tail both have same art type and you may enjoy it.
drawing and characterization styles are REALLY similar.
the main characters are really alike (Luffy and Natsu)
Both have a similar feel. If you like one you most likely will enjoy the other.
If you liked OP, you'd probly like FT. I think Nastu (from FT) is vary much like Luffy (From OP) Also in lots of other ways this anime is kinda OP style. :)
Both of these shows revolve around the relationship of friends and your comrades. They both have lots of action to offer, while having great story lines and adventures.
Basically, if you like one, you'll like the other.
you can't get anymore shounen then these 2
they main characters are exactly alike, their both baka's to the extreme yet they somehow make everyone like them.
they also has big plans when they were little and their trying to fulfill these dreams as we speak. their also trying to find "something" but what their looking for is different.
also Nami = Lucy in almost every aspect except hair colour. their both the "straight woman" in their jokes.
and chopper = Happy. cmon, their like mascots to each team. and you can't help but hug them at least once.
and Robin = Erza because they both have horrible pasts and their super strong and well known.
also the rivalry between natsu and grey are like zoro and sanji. competition in every aspect.
and boa hancock = juvia because they both love a main character and they act the same way to their lover(?), they also think they have extreme love rivals.
both have sword fighting, fist fighting, magical fighting, ect you name it.
Same Art style, big boobed girls (Nami in One Piece, Lucy in Fiary Tail)l and an idiot main character with amazing powers and determination.
Both have great action and great comedy..If you like one..there is no way you wouldn't like the other
Fairy Tail, just like One Piece, presents the power of friendship and the will to never give up. The characters in both series are similar, while both shows emphasize comedy scenes. The main difference is the world these heroes live in. One Piece takes place in a world of pirates and treasures, Fairy Tail in a world of magic and monsters. I'd say Fairy Tail is another version of One Piece.
the author for Fairy Tail did apprentice for Oda for quite some time. So there will be similarities between the two.
Nami + Lucy
Luffy + Natsu
Ace + Gray
well its a shounen action type anime with awesome, very funny and unique characters similar to One Piece it has a good storyline and awesome art and animation .If you liked
These anime share a common comedy style and artwork. Furthermore some of the main characters exhibit similar personalities.
Both Have Similar Art Works.
Both Main Characters (Natsu (Fairy Tail), Luffy (One Piece) Have Similar Eating Habits And Are Both Confident In Their Strength Allowing Fans To Fight Who Is Better.
Both Animes/Mangas Are Rivals To Each Other.
One Big Differents Is That One Piece Is Pure Strength And Pirates And Fairy Tail Is About Magic And Mages
-They both have action, comedy, fantasy & shounen in their genre
-Their main casts have some similarities
-The characters have strong bonds to each other
-Both of these anime will teach you the true meaning of friendship
Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Magic, Shounen, Superpowers, Unique character, Unique story as well, Both anime has a good comedy scenes, Romance scene, Not like the others that are corny when they tell jokes, Natsu from Fairy Tail is really Similiar to Monkey D. Luffy, And the others as well, For the manga, Some of the both anime characters really look the same, Lucy and Nami has the same... err, What do you call that? But if you compare this two young ladies they really have similar right? I just can't explain it as hell as I am.
It's almost the same story as for it, When I first think of Fairy Tail when I was not watching it still, I was thinking that the story was like One Piece, But then, Yes, It really was, Just the difference are One Piece main characters were pirates while the Fairy Tail ones are mages.
Main character is honest but a little silly.. in a good way. All the characters evolve in quite a slow rate during both series so when they do evolve it's always like you've been hoping and waiting for it which makes it even more awesome.
Love them both!
Both the protagonists are looking for something while using powers that most other people don't have. They both value friendship very much, as is clearly seen in both animes.
Both have the the same feel. Natsu is like Luffy. Erza resembles Nami in a way where she beats up Natsu. The way Gray and Natsu fight, however, is like Sanji and Zoro.
Luffy is very similar to Dragneel, Natsu, both show shows people who's traveling together which means their friends. both stick together and helping each other until the end. both of the show shows some comedy/ funny episodes.
The art style is very similar and they are both shounen/comedy series. Both have themes of teamwork and helping 'nakama' or friends. Both have their series moments and their hilarious moments
Both are about being loyal to one another and protecting their nakama. Both have their serious and comical moments. The only differences are is that One Piece is about pirates and Fairy Tail is about Mages, but over all they are very much alike.
Natsu and Gray are like Sanji and Zoro, they both always argue and fight but can be a good team together however Natsu links with Luffy too.
They also have the 'Nakama are the most important' thing to it.
Natsu and Luffy are very alike for e.g: They beat people up if they hurt their friends.
It's a shonnen anime, the pricipal character (natsu dragneel) is same as luffy based in their personality, both of them are strong, both of them love their friends & proctect them.
these two names are very similar in both characters especially the main characters and the kind of story is similar, except that fairy tail is about wizards and one piece is about pirates
the main char cares about his friends just like luffy and somehow the battel
style is smilar everyone has a deffrient power
but fairy tail has a deffrient story and more comedy than one piece
-Both anime speaks highly about friendship above anything.
-Both protagonists are truly idiots but can be serious as hell when the action starts.
Other then their difference in goal , they are pretty similar to each other . How the story develops, the characters behave , adventures of course ( fairy tale less ) . Hate to say it but yeah their ''logic'' seems pretty a like ( I will let you guess what i mean with that ) . Oh yeah another word ''easy''
Both Fairy Tail and One Piece are shounen animes and have a lot of similarities. The art quality may resemble one another(both authors have the art based off from dragon ball's author) and the way they draw the characters in both are really similar. As for as I've seen, people like Gildarts and Shanks, Rufus and Cavendish, and there's more out there where they look alike. The one major thing I think they have in common are that both are about a group of people who go through adventures fighting together and have a strong bond with one another. Also, theres a lot of emotional scenes based on what they go through as nakamas which can really get you all teary or even to the point you'll bawl. Based from my point of view, the things they do are completely different such as different goals for each character, but the storyline for both really resemble each other to the point some of the arcs are related. On top of that, really enjoy each and every one of the openings and endings they show for each new arcs that are airing. I think whether you like Fairy Tail or One Piece, you'll like the other since they have so much things in common. Definitely rate both of them 10/10!
Both series involve the bonds of friendship, with One Piece having the relationships between the Strawhat crew while Fairy Tail involving the relationships between the Fairy Tail guild.
Both have a vast amount of characters that have interesting and unique backgrounds and different environments for the characters to explore.
Both main characters (Luffy and Natsu) are extremely similar as they have the ambition to protect their friends.
Both series have a large amount of action and use of supernatural powers.
They both include action, and mainly fight for their nakama. If anyone harms their nakama they both won't stand for it. Strange similarity: both main character have articles of clothing that they treasure, as well as both being generally viewed as 'stupid'. If you like One Piece, than I suggest giving Fairy Tail a go!
natsu is preety much luffy just with standing pink hair
lucy like to spend money and nami like to keep
zoro and erza are preety much the same just that erza has boobs
happy is chopper
and more more and more...
Both the main characters likes to sleep, eat and are pretty dumb, there is a time gap in both of these anime which means both of the main characters will become even more stronger. The only real difference is that One Piece is about pirates and Fairy Tail is about wizards and witches. BTW both of the main characters are pretty OP (Over Powered). Oh and Naruto is also the same as these 2 anime but Naruto is about ninjas.
Both follow groups of close friends who go on adventures in ivast, in-depth worlds! They both will make your emotions swing wildly and get you attached to the characters
Out of all the shounen anime there are, Fairy Tail is probably the most simmilar to One Piece. Both have some kind of powers (magic/devil fruit), caring for frends, fights as well as comedy. Main characters are very simmilar. Both are airheads with love for food, but can get very serious when their friends are in danger.
One Piece and Fairy Tail are almost pretty much alike (my opinion). But I like Fairy Tail better though because the arc isn't that slow like One Piece's.
- One arc of One Piece lasts about ONE year. An arc of Fairy Tail is about 3-4 months in average.
- The goal of the pirates of One Piece is to travel trough the sea and to achieve One Piece treasure. Fairy Tail doesn't necessarily have a big goal, but they do sign up for 'works' to achieve money to make the guild better. But there is one main character who has a goal: his name is Natsu Dragneel The Dragonslayer and his objective is to find his father Igneel. There are also two other Dragonslayers who want to find their mother and father but their goal isn't on high priority as that of Natsu.
- In One Piece the main characters are pirates and it goes about pirates. In Fairy Tail the main characters are mages and it goes about magic.
- In One Piece, the most important style of it is explore the world and achieve One Piece. Therefor they must go through hardship like battles, adventures,etc...
In Fairy Tail, the most important style of it is FRIENDSHIP. Thanks of that, the power of guild flows. There are many other guilds who are rivals against Fairy Tail (which is very awesome) and there are also many Dark Guilds. They are threats of Fairy Tail. Of course in One Piece, there is also the so-called 'nakamapower' but it isn't that remarkable as in Fairy Tail.
- I find them both awesome, but like I said: I find Fairy Tail better than One Piece because of one thing: slow paced arc in One Piece.
Those animes are very adventurous, funny and sometimes mysterious. There are many EPIC battles. You will meet different characters with different strengths, skills, and together they make a good team.
If you enjoyed Fairy Tail you will sure love One Piece. Both have a strong main character that never gives up and has his goal in mind all the time . For the romance lovers I am sorry but there is not much love in this series.
If you like or enjoy One Piece, then you'll most definitely love Fairy Tail, and vice versa.
One Piece was a major inspiration for Fairy Tail, with one of the similarities being the protagonist of Fairy Tail, Natsu Dragneel, and protagonist of One Piece, Monkey D. Luffy, sharing multiple personality traits. The two animes also share one common set of motivation, friendship and loyalty, the show thrives off of these two things and it's what makes the heroes prevail in the end.
The sense of adventure and family is also a similarity the two shows possess, with each of the characters from both franchises having their own horrific and saddening backstory, the way they treat each other like family is a truly heartwarming experience.
One Piece is personally better in my opinion, because it's the source material for much of the action in Fairy Tail, however, I like both animes, and I believe you should watch or at least read the Fairy Tail franchise so you can know it's masterpieces as well.
Both anime focus on the story and progression of a group of people towards a main goal. Both anime also are similar in style ie both contain comedy, action, romance(although in a comical sense) and most importantly the strong bond of nakama.
They both have similar characters and a similar story line. One Piece has pirate crews and Fairy Tale has mage guilds.
-Main protagonist are strong but stupid.
-Story emphasized on nakama/friends.
-Each character has a sad past which is shown and solved out in specific arcs.
-Main protagonist's guild/crew usually ends up causing an uproar or fighting higher ups.
-OP is about Pirates (many possessing power of Devil's Fruit) whereas FT is about Mages (possessing various magical powers).
Both are simple shounen manga that focus mostly on fights and humor, while adding some doses of ecchi. Both have characters that embark on adventures and encounter several enemies, while also making new friends. Both have similar art and animation, and teach similar ideals (such as the value of friendship).
One Piece and Fairy Tail have similar characters. The characters have similar personalities. One Piece and Fairy Tail have action, comedy, and very little romance since they are Shounen Jump titles. Both shows can get intense and serious, but most of the time it is pure humor. Hope you enjoy!
Almost Everything in FT and OP are same, including friends, humor, fights, characters. But the only difference is the theme of the story wich Fairy Tail including magicians invert One Piece including pirates though.
Overall i think that both of them are the best shounen anime that i have ever seen.
Both have lots of action, intense fight scenes, and that MC that always proves that he's the strongest character
As well as Naruto, Fairy Tail is going to be the next big thing in anime. Somehow it gives me the same feeling as I'm watching Naruto. There are a lot of characters, a lot of funny moments, and I'm looking forward to the next episode! So I think that if you like Naruto, you may like Fairy Tail too!
Same atmosphere, fights, funny moments. The art is very same as well.
And ya, Natsu reminds me Naruto greatly, 'cos they are both quite silly, but cute and powerful ^_^
Both are shounen with heroes who are a bit slow. In Fairy Tail, Natsu is a bit more competent, but both he and Naruto serve as comic relief at times. Both Natsu and Naruto also have a strong loyalty to their friends. Both characters were also have a small sense of being cast aside because of something that happened in their pasts.
Friendship, loyalty and a mix of love is w00t these two animes have in common.
Not to mention they all have a huge variety of characters, all with differrent kewl techniques and powers. Both shows also finds a good way of mixing humor at the right time, but still manages to keep up a good suspense when needed.
Also, the three main characters have huuuge resemblances.
Character of both are very similar.Ninjitsu & magic looks very close to each other.
Both talk a lot about friendship as being important, the action is also similar. Naruto is more dramatic than fairy tail though, but fairy tail makes up for this by being hilarious XD. Both are also must sees in the anime world no matter what genre you're into, to be honest if you watch anime you probably know what Naruto is anyway lol, but still Fairy Tail, in my opinion is equally as awesome!
Both anime have similar characters, natsu ... naruto , gray ... sasuke ,lucy ... sakura , and similar powers like earth, wind, wather, lighting and fire magic (jutsu) , for example natsu use fire magic like sasuke use fire jutsu , erza use weapons like swords and throw them like ninja throw there kunai and so on.if you like fairy tail then you certainly you will like naruto.
They way the headcharaters act is smiliar even though Naruto has a hard time fitting in and Natsu is looking for his "master". But they both tries to be the best in wath they do.
Both have amazing characters, with both knowing the pain of losing people important to them (Naruto & Natsu). They both are hot headed and never back down from a challenge. It contains a lot of battles and awesome quotes and characters and you really should watch the both of them!
Characters are very similar... both are popular shounen
Fairy Tail is way more carefree and easy-going though
The way they portray friend relation ships and the character personalities are similar. They are both action and cute comedy shows, which can turn into tear jerkers...
Both main characters are hot-heads and impatients.
Even female main character is same as other.
You will not regret watching this!
Adventure + Shounen + Comedy = Fairy Tail & Naruto
The cast is very similar in that they also find a way to win and never give up.
Both series are set in a similar environment (Guild Hall/Hidden Leaf Village)
Both series have the main characters going on missions to earn money and make the village/guild stronger.
They both end up having fights with the others Guilds/Villages
Both series are very good and I highly recommend watching one if you like the other. You definitely wont be disappointed.
Hot-headed, fiercely protective, always wanting to throw down in a battle of skill... Remind you of someone? Naruto Uzumaki? But also, Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail.
Both characters are in search of something.
For Naruto it's a place in the village, for Natsu, it's his adoptive father the dragon, Igneel.
I believe that both animes are quite alike and with similar supporting characters (Sakura from Naruto and Lucy from Fairy tail), although the story isn't alike, both are about taking risks for friends and protecting the ones you love, while fighting for what is right.
They both have a balance of action, suspense and comedy while maintaining a good plot. Both also showcase each character with their own background which influences their actions.
Both have themes that are big on family & friends. Both feature a character who used to be alone, and ends up meeting great people they care about
Both are shounen anime that focus mostly on humor and action, as they follow a group of main characters who go on quests trying to fulfill their missions. Both have many similar elements, such as fighting techniques and power-ups, fighting tournaments etc. Both have the same vibe and atmosphere.
Both Main Characters (Naruto and Natsu) are Hot Heads that stick to what they believe in.
Characters have special magical abilities.
People divided into groups (For example- Fairy Tail: the Fairy Tail guild. Naruto: the hidden leaf village.)
Some groups are good and some groups are bad.
Focus's on one particular group who fight evil.
Naruto and Natsu have similar personalities.
The groups split into smaller teams to go on missions.
Fairy Tail was without a doubt a more interesting and character/relationship building anime than Naruto. I feel that Naruto gets repetitive and there's too many filler episodes, whereas in Fairy Tail every episode is exciting and you start to feel attachment towards characters. Fairy Tail brings out more emotions in the viewer than Naruto would and the Fairy Tail music is much better than Naruto's music, however the sound track for both anime are great.
both share a lead set of main chartcers that form a team to compete mission around the land
friary tail do this buy using magic and shear will power usual causing a lot of destruction Naruto dose this buy using ninjujitsu and genjujitsu with the willpower playing a key role
The adventures of Naruto and his friends will surely remind you of the characters from Fairy Tail.
The main character Natsu resembles Naruto in nature. He is hot headed like naruto and is awesome.
Both long shows which are easy to binge, there's a coherent plot with fillers and there's a dumb main character that gets stronger by almost being defeated. They save the world a couple times and the power of friendship pulls them trough
The story is from the same creator.
Natsu and Haru, Ellie and Lucy, Gray and Musica are very alike.
Both involve talking creatures.
Both involve magic.
Both involve dragons as well.
Pluu is involved in both animes.
And much more x3
the Main characters are similar the girl decided to join up with the main hero their personality are similar and pluu in there too
Groove Adventure Rave and Fairy Tale are quite similar. They feel the same, the adventures are similar, both main protagonist gilrs are similar, the protagonist boys are smiliar, PLU is in both...
it's just if you watched one of them, you will like the other!!!
they have similar characters and a story about a girl who join a guild and natsu ,who is like haru in a way, is always full of energy. the story also have some magic and also plue is included in the story. its an fun filled with mystery and adventure story.
Both series are made by the same creator Mashima Hiro. Both contain action and has some comedy in it. Both have some sort of action like groove adventure rave has swords and it has powers or some type of weapon and Fairy Tail has magic. Fairy Tail just started so I cant really say much about it but Groove Adventure has a very great story line and I bet Fairy Tail will as well.
Firstly, the same creator... but after all both series has the same kind of characters... there are also "repeated" characters on both series.
Both series are by the same creator and the characters have similar character designs. Stuff originally from Rave appears or is referenced in Fairy Tai such as the character Plue, a magic known as Etherion and the name Oracion Seis used for an elite group of six people.
1. the main is a cheerful character
2. their dad (of in natsu case dragon dad) is somehow involved in the main storyline
same type of characters and same concept of the story. it's REALLY similar, if you love fairy tail you will defintely like rave master. I wated both of it, and it's AWSOME!! ;P
Many elements of this series pop up in Fairy Tail often. Many characters have similiar designs as Rave Master characters. Most notably:
* Plue, Haru's guide, being one of Lucy's Celestial Spirits
* Lucy Heartfilia resemble Elie, also, Lisanna "returning from the dead" is similar to Elie's "Resha death subplot"
* Gray Fullbuster resembles Musica, and he wears a necklace that bears resemblance to Haru's Ten Commandments sword or the first piece of RAVE.
* Jellal Fernandes is based off Sieg Hart
* Natsu Dragneel resembles Haru but Let in fighting style
* Faust resembles Shakuma
* Mirajane (when she was younger) resembles Julia
* Aetherion is taken from Etherion and is a highly destructive magic in both series
* Karen Lilica resembles Reina of the Oracion Seis.
* Gildarts Clive takes design elements from Gale Glory and Gale Raregroove
One can also spot characters from Rave Master in the background. The cover for chapter 91 even featured Lucy and Natsu dressed as Haru and Elie from the series.
* Erza's armor has the same 'Heart Kreuz' logo as Elie's tank top.
* Erza Knightwalker's Saint Spear the ten comandments transforms into Silfarion, Mel Force, Explosion, Gravity Core, Blue Crimson, and Rune Save, all with identical abilities.
* Casino in Chapter 75 has a Ruby's figurehead.
* The brand 'Heart Kreuz' is featured prominently (All Requip Amour has logo featured in some way or other, Lucy's Clothes, and both Erza and Lucy have Heart Kreuz Bags, Suitcases, etc.)
* In the Omake Lucy's Photo shoot, Elie, Julia, Belnika, Musica, Ruby and possibly Griff (because it is of the same species as Griff and it has a perverted look on it's face) make a small appearance.
* Griff makes appearances often, the most prominent being in the anime where Happy is chewing him instead of candy
Same have the same writer, Has like Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Romance, Shounen genres, Both are good shows, And both of the shows have Plue, The Nicola Spirit of Lucy Heartfilia, However, The characters were unique and almost have the same look as the ones at the Fairy Tail.
Both series are written by the same author, Mashima Hiro so expect so similar themes such as friendship, adventure, and the action.
Both series' main protagonist have similar personalities as well as the main female protagonist.
Both series' battles and conflicts also involves magic that relies on skills, teamwork, and a little bit of luck.
Some of the series' artwork and characters' designs are also based off of one and the other. In fact, one character from Groove Adventure Grave even makes their way into Fairy Tail in original format.
Both series' fights are also contains humorous dialogues and comedy.
Hiro Mashima authored both mangas of Fairy Tail and Groove Adventure Rave, so the styles are basically the same. Both are enjoyable in terms of fights and storylines. Both anime are magic related, with powers which are intriguing to watch as they are applied in battles. Both got good OSTs.
These were both written by the same guy, and this is immediately apparent, with recycled characters, ideas and even episodes. You'll recognise Plue immediately, and the relationship between Elie and Haru is very similar to that between Lucy and Natsu. Also, the episode with the 'Jiggle butt gang' is pretty much the same in both. Although they are often very similar, it is still worth watching both, as they are both very good animes, and if you like one, you will probably like the other.
Rave is the short lived TV prototype for fairy tale, tho not actually but a majority of its influences are seen in fairy tale. From the Jiggle butt gang to plue the weird cone nosed dog its overly apparent. Also a lot of statues and pictures often have Griffon in them you know the small blue guy with big lips?
You can also see that the female main characters are patterned after each other. I personally think lucy is lesser than ellie tho. Ellie had a more natural appearance where as lucy seems like she trys to hard at times.
Anyway the show is not as action filled as fairy tale and it ended prematurely truly it should have got another season or continued production till a satisfying end could be made. If your the type who carry's onto the manga after a good anime than this may get you interested. The characters are just as well done as fairy tale and even better in some cases (personal opinion) tho not boasting such a large main cast you can enjoy the series quite a bit for its 49 episode run.
Animation is slightly lesser than fairy tale and not as compelling a musical score but it all fits well to the anime. The show is fully of silly humor and sword swinging bad guy thwarting fun.
Both are based off manga written by Hiro Mashima. They have similar art style and characters. Some of Hiro's characters from other manga like to appear within each other. It can be fun trying to find cameos inside the anime!
Both series are made by the same creator Mashima Hiro and contain action and some comedy. Both have some sort of action. Groove Adventure Rave has swords and has powers or some type of weapon, and Fairy Tail has magic. I just started Fairy Tail so I can't really say much about it, but Groove Adventure has a very great story line, and I bet Fairy Tail will as well. I love it.
Well, I'm Gonna Make A Very Common Recommendation
- Both Are Created By Hiro Mashima
- Both Had A Special Crossover
- Both Main Protagonists Are Named After Seasons
- If You Read The Manga (Especially The Latest Chapters) You'll Find Haru And Natsu Looking Very Similar, This Goes The Same For Lucy And Elie Except For The Hairstyle.
I Hope You Enjoy My Recommendation!
Brought to you by the same mind and sharing the same universe these two anime go together very well. While Rave may be older it's still worth the time for a shounen fan. Same humor and characters build both stories but are different enough to still entertain.
~ Same guy who wrote FairyTail
~Kind of the same genre: Magic/adventure/action
~Both protagonists have badass moves
~Lots of action
The art style and atmosphere are generally similar.
Both have two guys that seem to hate eachother and are constantly trying to beat eachother, but when it comes down to saving the things they care about these two main characters make an unstopable force. there is also a ton of random things that will make you laugh in both series.
The simple yet colorful and appealing art style is what really draws these two together. Both also have fantastic stories and a menagerie of characters that are easy to fall in love with. They both utilize fanservice in a tasteful and humorous way, but also have their touching moments. If you like one, you're sure to like the other.
Fairy Tail is awesome and sol eater too, even if soul eater have a little bit more insanity, i strongly recomend you to see fairy tail!!
well its a shounen action type anime with awesome, very funny and unique characters it has a good storyline and awesome art and animation .If you liked Soul Eater you should try Fairy Tail
I don't know how to explain but they just feel alike. The way they kind of hint relationships but there isn't any. And the partner/group thing. Oh and Natsu reminds so much of Black Star. And things like Grays weird clothes off thing corresponds with Deaths Symmetry.
Both shows have characters with random and weird personalities. They can be insanely funny and serious at the same time. Both also are in a certain league or in FT's case, a guild.
Both series are fun and lively with a large and incredible quirky cast of characters that you can't help but like. They both use a similar style of humor that plays off your knowledge of the characters and their weird tendancies.
Both have a strong feeling of loyalty among the characters and a lot of action.
In both series, there's a sense of battle shounen involving the main characters against other adversaries that opposes them throughout each episode.
Both series' main protagonists are always looking forward to a good fight and hoping to improve themselves in their skills.
In both series, there is a school/guild that trains the main characters in various skills and from what they've learned, the members compete against others using those skills.
Both series features a lot of action, drama, comedy. They also have similar artwork.
Both FT and SE have blocky colourful animation. The storylines are brilliant, fun but I have cried at both... yes, yes I have :) Lots of action and magic/magical transformations- both have worlds which are detailed and unique. If you watch one, watch the other- both are really brill! :)
Both are shounens that surprisingly have emotion. Both are regular worlds but with a supernatural twist that draws the charcthers together. Both focus around one of the stronger and uniqer groups of a larger organization.
Both animes have a similar overall theme of the importance of friendship.
Both include a bit of fanservice; although, it is heavier in Fairy Tail.
Both have somewhat-typical shounen plots, but are enjoyable.
Natsu and Black*Star are very, VERY similar characters. Maka and Lucy are similar at times, too.
Finally, the artwork is similar. I thoroughly enjoyed both :)
Both have a really similar art style and they have lots of action and comedy. Many of the characters' personalities are also very alike.
Both Soul Eater and Fairy Tail have this group/team work feel to it. Soul Eater takes place in a school for technicians and weapons and they team up to eliminate their enemies, and Fairy Tail takes place in a Guild were people take jobs and team up with the people they have a bond with.
They both have amazing characters that you with laugh with (or at) and they both have awesome missions with really great action scenes.
Though the art style differs slightly, however rather more drastically in other ways, the anime is by far one of my favourites.
I feel the main characters have some striking similarities: Natsu and Lucy being extremely similar to the pairing of Maka and Soul; of the same lack of intelligence seen in both lead male roles. Also of the two main characters belonging to a group with equally high aspirations.
Both also seem to face an ultimate enemy with power equal to that of god. And of course each shows the progression of the characters and their powers in order to face this god.
The style of fighting is a little different with Fairy tail using magic and Soul Eater using weapons and technicians however the fighting is equally enjoyable and both had me strongly into the fight scenes. Fairy tail fights can be slightly drawn out however -sometimes lasting an episode at a time- however it is still thoroughly enjoyable.
Fianlly although Soul Eater has met it's end (Which ultimately I found to be quite disappointing) Fairy Tail is a lot less linear and has reached the 175 episode mark without finishing. Well I say that but the anime series then ends there; it is continued however in the manga which is equally brilliant. There is an amazing amount of plot and character development; I absolutely adore Natsu and Happy.
I reccomend this to almost any anime fan regardless of whether they have seen Soul Eater or not.
Adventurous friends go on missions to defeat self-proclaimed evil beings. Many genres, mainly being a Shonan. Fairy Tail being my favorite anime (I have seen it 39 times), Soul Eater falls into third place, right behind Another. Soul Eater is one of the most entertaining Shonan actions I have found out there.
When I first started to watch fairy tail it reminded me so much of both naruto and naruto: shippuden, the coolest thing about about is that every character resembled a character off of naruto, for example nastu would be naruto, gray would sasuke, Lucy would be sakura and so on, and they both hold a lot of susppense so if you like fairy tail you are definatly going to like naruto
well its a shounen action type anime with awesome, very funny and unique characters it has a good storyline and awesome art and animation .If you liked Shippuuden you will like Fairy Tail
The male protagonist is similar to Naruto.
Both are shounen animes, but if your looking for something filled with great story, morals, action, comedy, and drama. Then this is for you! I think everybody knows really well that the first couple of episodes aren't that great, but if you can get past that and work your way up- you'll definitely see what I mean. Ever since that rough-start this series has never had once a moment to utterly fail at impressing me.
Both contain action, adventure, humor and emotion. If you like one of them you'll probably like the other one too.
Both are very standard plots and characters, relating to one another such as
Naruto - Natsu (even names begin with N lol)
Sakura - Erza
Sasuke - Gray (not entirely)
Although the plot differentiates but with certain similarities i.e main character trying to save/bring back a friend (Natsu/Igneel) and (Naruto/Sasuke). The atmosphere is the same with the light hearted comedy and the action. Every episode is enjoyable and if you liked one of them, you will like the other.
The main characters Naruto and Natsu are very similar, in any points which is what makes both people are absolutely amazing. In both series, they are fighting for their friends and done qustes together.
Both anime create their own world.
strong feelings for their friends.
Each individual has his own unique ability.
Sick fights and action.
They are both great shounen and you'll enjoy them.
Both are Shounen have good action - Both have really good comedy - Fairy Tail has magic and Naruto has Ninja forces - both are really popular
If you enjoyed Fairy Tail you will sure love Naruto. Both have a strong main character that never gives up and has his goal in mind all the time . For the romance lovers I am sorry but there is not much love in this series, even tho there are a few sparks here and there its nothing that develops in a real relationship.
This anime has also the same concept as Naruto. I watched this anime before I found Naruto though. It's a lot more humor in this anime, and the fillers "keeps to the story", as I find Naruto doesn't sometimes. Instead of fillers thrown around even now an then, it is filler-arcs, and they're worth watching.
As Naruto the main characters in this anime is fighting for a better world and to save their friends. I enjoyed this anime! And guess what? They finally continued on the story, Fairy Tail (2014). Took some time though :)
I know people are going to hate me for this. But I don't care. It's who I am.
I am recommending this anime because it is my favorite of favorites.
Here come the haters.
I've enjoyed this anime since the beginning: I use to feel like Naruto as a child and I've really just grown up with him and explored my true passions along with him. He's kinda been the tour guide of my life and thus the reason why I'm so utterly hopeless. Yes. I admit it.

This anime is just amazing and it helped me realize and express my true self and find my true passion.
Thanks for reading and now everyone can come and hate.
After watching the first episode of Nanatsu no Taizai I got immediately reminded of Fairy Tail. Both of them start with a nice introduction and are followed by events which show us how the main characters get to know each other. After introducing us to the main characters without telling us who exactly they are, or part of which organization/guild they are, we are thrown into an action packed fight with great music. After the battle was settled their adventurous journey began.
Main guy helps main girl and both somehow have similar interests, what made them go together in their journey/adventure. + cute talking animals (cats in Fairy Tail and a pig in Nanatsu no Taizai)
In the past, after hearing about Fairy Tail, checking out the wiki and watching a few chapter reviews for a while I eventually decided to check it out. I'm not a big fan of Fairy Tail, but I acknowledge that this anime has a fan base. I would definitely recommend Nanatsu no Taizai(Seven Deadly Sins) to any Fairy Tail fan or to anyone who was disappointed by Fairy Tail. The transition to Fairy Tail to Nanatsu no Taizai is easy.
They both involve magic and it's easy to correlate Fairy Tail's and Nanatsu no Taizai's magic to each other. Both Fairy Tail and Nanatsu no Taizai are ecchi(the mangas are labeled ecchi). For those who are bothered by the plot distracting ecchi, while watching nanatsu no taizai, I found the ecchi more bearable and less frequent. Although I have yet to read the manga, perhaps it includes more ecchi like Fairy Tail. Nanatsu no Taizai includes others races like: faries, giants, demons etc.
It is more violent and shows more blood than FT 2014 since this version I believe doesn't show any blood. I seem to enjoy the storyline better and the anime has a more clear "goal". As a bonus they both have talking animals- FT: Happy & NNT: Hawk. Fairy Tail involves mages in powerful guilds using magic and in Nanatsu no Taizai it features groups of different Knights using powerful magic. If you liked or did not like the characters in Fairy Tail I think you'll like/like better Nanatsu no Taizai's characters too.
Nanatsu no Taizai is my alternative to Fairy Tail and I definitely recommend it to you all.
Both have crazy action, fun comedy, a tad of ecchi, and overall a fun, fantasy adventure. The mangas for both even had a crossover chapter.
Nanatsu no Taizai has a similar zany humor as Fairy Tail. Both shows follow people with special abilities (though they aren't all necessarily wizards, exactly) as they try to right wrongs and save the day. Both shows are light-hearted, but also have lots of action.
-Male lead is strong af, female is weak but determined af, male helps female achieve her goal
-Abundance of comedy but has it's dark moments
-Cartoony character design
-Talking animals as a mascot
Nanatsu no Taizai is pretty much just a better FT imo
Both have a woman that don't have powers but have determination ,and a guy that is POWERFUL not only powerful but so much poweful, both have a charismatic mascot ,
and a story that can be a lot explored.
Set in a magical fantasy world. Group of people with awesome powers and are friends. All the good stuff.
The characters in both are very similar, the main characters in Nanastu could be easily be aligned with those in Fairy Tail-- Meliodas and Natsu, Elizabeth and Lucy, and Hawk and Happy. Both pretty much have the same concept of the characters meeting each other and then set off on a journey (although Nanastu has more of an actual goal whereas Fairy Tail doesnt not have the characters set off to achieve one specific goal throughout the series). Both have epic fighting scenes that will get you excited and pumped up.
Nanatsu no taizai has the same feel and similar setting to fairy tail but has far better fights and pacing. If you like nonstop action then taizai is for you definitely a worth watch series
Seven deadly sins & Fairy tail:
Elizabeth travels with Meliodas on an adventure, Lucy travels with Natsu on an adventure;
Both have fantasy setting;
Both Have magic>>> Knights with magical power(Seven deadly sins) Magical Wizards(Fairy Tail)
Good comedy, Great action, Awesome fight scenes & very enjoyable. :)
