Oh nice. How come you like World more than Rise? I kinda of like World more too, but that's mostly because I like a lot of the much, much later monsters in Iceborne like Savage Deviljho, Furious Rajang, and Raging Brachydios. However, that's not really a fair comparison. I do like where Rise is currently at than what World was not long after its release. Excluding Rampages, Rise's current endgame is far less annoying than World's endgame ever was. I can see myself liking Rise more in a year or two after more updates unless they keep locking all the best stuff behind Rampages. Wirebugs and abilities are also cooler than clutch claws. That reminds me, Rise recently added Valstrax which is one of the coolest monsters in the series but isn't in World; what if jet plane but it was also a dragon? I should fight that some time soon.

If I had PS+ I would ask to play World with you, but I don't. I can only play Rise multiplayer for now. I guess you're still in base World if you're fighting Pink Rathian. No idea if you've beaten it or not yet, but Herbal Medicines help out so much for every type of Rathian and Rathalos. It cures poison and heals a decent amount of HP. Carrying honey and potions helps too so you can craft 10 more mega potions if you run out of mega potions. Why is it that everyone always struggles with Pink Rathian lol. It's been so long since I played that part of World that I don't remember if I also struggled with it. Also, what weapon(s) have you been using?

My man!

There are urgent quests. You do those to advance the story or rank. They should be marked red and easy to find. I'd recommend doing the village quests (the one Hinoa gives in the middle of town) first. Those are the solo quests and the monsters there are weaker than the hub quest monsters. They're also good practice for trying out weapons; there's a lot to choose from, so you should try out the ones that seem interesting in the training room first and then try them out in the village quests.

Ye I'm up for doing co-op whenever. Maybe even in a few hours (I'm cooking right now).

great Elfen Lied review

I was surprised to find that you had reviewed Enbo and it was an even more startling coincidence that you had referenced Monster there.. was a pleasant surprise.

Tienes buenos gustos./ You have good taste.

Also it's funny that you mention the fixation with "numbers" b/c my review actually centered around refusing to give a precise numerical value
Kaesec Mar 31, 2:55 AM
That's fair. The main reason I've gotten into anime is an excess of alone time due to the coronavirus. My initial comment seems rather aggressive in retrospect, which wasn't my intention.

I'm curious, what's your native language/nationality? And what was your focus in school that writing essays on anime was worthwhile practice lol?

Your criticism of Elfen Lied, while certainly understandable and somewhat true, is nevertheless overly hasty in its dismissal of the show's perceived themes. Your interpretation has been corrupted by the very tropes you chastise which Elfen Lied adopts yet also subverts. At some points in your review, you even touch upon these contradictions while failing to properly acknowledge their ambiguity.

(If you're interested, here is my own review, which further elaborates my thoughts on the subject: )

You might think I am overgenerous in my own interpretation; however, although I hate when others do this, in this case I am going to plead "Death of the Author". This principle is especially important with respect to Elfen Lied given the extent to which the director attempted to differentiate the adaptation from its source material, in which all of its undesirable aspects are expressed to a much greater degree.

It's pretty fun. I'm having an easier time pulling off some i-frame attacks that I sucked at in World and the wirebug stuff is pretty cool. The maps are all great and it's fun exploring them. It does feel pretty short. It took me like 5 hours to get to the credits, but that was only for the village/solo questline since there seems to be only Low Rank/easy mode for solo quests. According to my friend who has been a longtime fan of the franchise, that's normal for most Monster Hunter games and High Rank/normal mode gets added to solo later on whenever they add G Rank/hard mode to multiplayer. I guess it's to make it easier for newcomers and veterans to learn how to play the game since it does have new mechanics. The hub/multiplayer questline is so far longer since there is High Rank, and it's pretty fun playing with friends. Except everyone hates me for using Long Sword since it's infamous for being a very multiplayer unfriendly weapon due to having a huge range that constantly trips and stuns other players lol. It's flashy, cool af when you pull off the i-frame attacks, and does huge damage so I will keep using it anyways.

You have an anime whose episode count has a mismatch in your list.
You completed SAC 2nd GIG but it should be 26.

Yeah, we have known each other for almost 8 years now and dated for... I think 3 or 4 years? I remember seeing people get together all the time, but the only two I can think off the top of my head are Katie and Emily. They've been together for a long time and I think they are either already married or engaged. I forgot which of the two. There are some others that got together, but I started thinking about it and realizing that quite a few have broken up by now.
Eder Mar 23, 12:17 PM
And yeah it is kind of unbelievable how many people met on there and are dating for years or got married. If not for COVID-19 or our financial situation we would be married too. Also 3 years is along time. Congrats!
