Both have very similar stories, about trying to make as many friends as possible.
reportRecommended by alpha_shadow
Both are romances with teenagers in adolescence, overthinking situations and sometimes not taking action because of love. Sometimes leads to misleading actions that leads to misleading funny scenarios. While Kaguya-sama is more complicated on love, Komi is more simple and more focused on friendship but with a dash of love.

Both the main characters are popular, but have communication disorders and they both think everyone hates them. They have a number of weird 'followers' and are pretty much hailed at deities by thier peers

The show differ slightly in tone but the synopsis is similar. Both female leads use other means of communication to convey thoughts. The location of occuring events are related to school and the comedic relief brought forth is depicted through similar means. The manga share a similar sense of fluffiness and the evident chemistry between the two main characters. The side characters are highlighted and become the center of attention, ensuring development for more characters. On the flip side, Senryuu Shoujo has a striking difference encapsulated through the romantic expression the show uses. Many chapters try to develop the establish bond between the male and  read more

Awkward. Watamote and Komi Can't Communicate both follow two protagonists who have difficulty in expressing what they want to with other people. Along each long journeys though, they both become closer and closer to what the general image of a high school girl is like, whilst retaining their personality of course. With Watamote, it is on the pessimistic side of things with Tomoko having that negative view on life, hating all the "normies" around her. On Komi's side, she is just a misunderstood girl with all these people pretty much simping on her, only wishing she had friends to talk to however. Both are good manga with  read more

The main characters might not have the exact same condition but both of them want to make many friends during their high school life.
reportRecommended by dane17eduard
They are both romantic highschool comedies. They really do give off the same feel.
reportRecommended by LaithaMcgane
Both involve diabetes-including romcom wholesomeness with an introverted character getting to better know an extroverted one. Styles are similar - more than 4-koma but less than full manga.
reportRecommended by K-Lye
Wrong message. Both Komi-san and Forcing Herself to Smile follow a female MC who convey the wrong message without ease. They don't try to, but it happens regardless. Komi-san's consequence of this is everyone loving Komi, Forcing Herself to Smile's consequence is Chiyo making her husband lose self-confidence due to her forced smile. They both don't mean harm and have good hidden intentions. Both manga are good comedy.
reportRecommended by NextUniverse
The main characters both struggle with the idea of disorders. If you want a less happy, still wholesome, more detailed look into how people with disorders live, this is for you.
reportRecommended by Ritinal
Both manga are excellent coming of age stories that incorporate the main plotline of SoL elements and the romance subplot to the overall development and growth of the MCs to become more mature in facing new conflicts. Another thing to mention is how consistent the progression is, both of the manga offers excellent organic progression with how faithful the authors are in their characters that never betrayed their established background along the story. Both of these mangas are absolute must-read for avid SoL reader out there that is looking for a good time.

-Cinnamon role female lead is a social recluse who gets "saved" by a guy -Really wholesome with slow character development -Similar feel, great art for the genre Main pair has good chemistry

Both stories feature a shy main girl whose feelings sometimes manifest into cat ears, with a crush on a down-to-earth boy, plus a quirkier friend group around them as they all have fun (and cute bonding moments) in and out of school.

a guy becomes friends with a girl with a social disorder and tries helping her make friends
reportRecommended by NuggetBandit
In both there is an attractive girl but without friends due to a "problem" she has, but a relatively ordinary boy approaches her and they become friends. Both very cute stories.
reportRecommended by Patata_Otaku
Main protagonists try to help the heroine with their problems. There is also romance in a high school environment. Both protagonists are normal people while the main heroines are goddesses. (Shiina is a world known painter, Komi is perfect in everyway). Tadano helping Komi with her speaking disability. and Sorata helping Shiina with literally everything.
reportRecommended by Onies
Both have main characters that are not the best at communicating Both have main characters that have similar designs Both have main characters that look menacing but aren't Both manga have substantial romance
reportRecommended by Some-AnimeLover
"A girl who changes life of no-friend kind boy's life in good way." they have for concept. The romcom part is also similer but Dress-up Darling don't have a Najimi sadly. Also Dress-up Darling's characters are not much as Komi-san (Just 2 main. That's all.) But for read a similer Slice of Life romcom serie My Dress-up Darling is good enough.
reportRecommended by SeroShiii
-both mc is normal person -both main girl has similar features, like speak quietly or cant speak -in both manga they think mc is not be worthy to the main girl -both manga has short chapters
reportRecommended by Erkhang
Both center around the deep, yet hilarious journey of a introverted and weird individual into trying to make friends. - Komi-san wants to get a 100 friends so she can overcome her communication disorder. - Kurosawa wants to make friends so he can feel like someone in his life.

both have REALLY extravagant side chars that you wont find anywhere else that easily
reportRecommended by K1ngOfSloth
Both have very similar dynamics and themes. They're similar in a lot of ways so if you liked one, you're probably bound to like the other. Furi-san also has Hori-san (from Horimiya) vibes. Overall, it's quite chill and slice of life-y like Komi-san. [Spoilers] . . . In both, people look up to the main girl and consider her to be a beauty, but she has a hard time making friends at first. The main guy is also quite plain, but an overall nice guy that everyone likes. Furi-san starts having feelings for Taira but he finds her intimidating and misunderstands her a lot at first.
reportRecommended by LocalAirhead
-Both are extremely wholesome, adorable manga, the only difference that matters being that Exorcist and Devil is a fantasy manga and Komi Can't Communicate is a standard school romcom. -All of the characters are likeable, to varying degrees.
reportRecommended by JakCooper2
Both of them make use of silent comedy. In Joshikausei quite literally there is no dialogue and everything that happens through gesticulations, factial expressions, sound effects or the art to express the situation and it leads to hilarious moments. In Kimi-san, the main female character is quite similar to the entire silent aspect of Joshikausei, except she simply can't talk and that puts her in similarly hilarious situations.
reportRecommended by alpha_shadow
The story lines for this manga are not at all similar however, the main character for both of these stories has a similar vibe. The MC is somewhat plain and ordinary but they are also sometimes cute and observant. If you like one MC you may want to check out the other.
reportRecommended by newsyringe
School manga that lean heavily on the comedic side. Both feature very timid main female characters with similar appearances, though Komi-san takes the timidity to a more comedic extreme. Both feature a main character that's good at figuring out what others are thinking (for very different reasons). Some potential romance in both, but Mousou Telepathy puts more emphasis on it.
reportRecommended by Lohuydahutt
-Both are extremely wholesome -Both revolves around a timid girl with very little confidence Both have possible romantic elements (Saotome Senshuu is a straight up romance while Devil-chan and Exorcist seems like it could go in the romance route later) -Both have some adorable girls
reportRecommended by JakCooper2
Having 100 friends? Or how about having no friends at all? Both series represent the total opposite goals within the same "friendships" theme. The main characters in both manga are a boy and a girl sitting next to each other. The female lead has difficulties finding friends so the male lead tries to help her out. If you like this kind of setting, check them out! However, as the names of titles imply, Komi-san revolves more around the female lead while Yugami-kun is more about the male lead. And while Komi-san's plan is to gain friends, Yugami-kun is not interested in having friends at all.
reportRecommended by Lylaaz
Both main characters are socially awkward and also scare people because of how they look. Both series is the same in the "don't judge a book by it's cover" way. Both shows focus alot on comedy, friendship, romance and school. But "Angel Densetsu" is more about martial arts. And "Komi-san" is just a bit more lewd in it's jokes.
reportRecommended by KillerCLbee
Both have a big cast of characters and focus on comedy and romance in high-school and both are just plain fun to read.
reportRecommended by CrashRHCP
These are both slice of school life romances with comedy thrown in, with themes of discovering friendship and feelings of love. Kimi ni Todoke is more old school shojo while Komi Can't Communicate is definitely newer, but they both have very adorable girl characters who are amazed by so many things the male love interest shares with them. The main male character in both is very perceptive of the female's emotions and supportive.
reportRecommended by Snowkittenz
In both series there's a normal boy and a girl who doesn't or can't talk. The boy is the one who understands the girl the best so both series are very adorable in that matter.
reportRecommended by Lylaaz
Same main character duo, a beautiful long haired shy girl which can't really communicate with other people and an usual guy which is not really outstanding. The two of them start getting closer.
reportRecommended by Elyasis
Both are a very cute slow progressing (But indeed have development, just "slow") fun romance. Reading both of these I gets the feeling of "Why are both of them not married yet??". If you like cute, wholesome, happy, and all the adorableness I recommend to check this out!
reportRecommended by PurrZ
Both is about the protagonist befriending the girl siting beside him. Both of the girl seems to have a side of them that only the he knows at the start: Komi-san's bad communicating skills and Saeki-san's love to sleep. Both the protagonist looks and act the same (dense)
reportRecommended by 254piles
Both involve female school students who deal with the burden of being unable to communicate with others (to the point of having to write what they want to say on paper). One just happens to be a stunning beauty that has everyone overlooking her lack of communication skills (to the point of altering the reality of how people perceived events with her). While the other ...doesn't, and so deals somewhat realistically how things normally happens with people who don't seem to fit in.
reportRecommended by dreamingsamurai
Both of these series focus around a character is sort of misunderstood and focuses on their social interactions. Galko may be more on the ecchi side than Komi but I think anyone who likes one would like the other.
reportRecommended by OnyxSaiyan
The female lead in both I Am Here and Komi Can't Communicate both suffer from social anxiety and wish to get over it so that they can make friends. The social anxiety is depicted more severely and for comedy's sake in Komi Can't Communicate, though.
reportRecommended by Fario-P
Hishiro and Komi have various similarities in attitude. They have similar struggles in social tendencies and are both trying to improve. Both are comedic manga. Although Relife is web manga that is fully colored and has an almost supernatural element to kick off the story, Komi-san wa, comyushou desu.? is more of a straight forwards comedic manga. If you liked the awkward lead female character you will enjoy both of these.
reportRecommended by ArmisC
Shy girl MC that tries to interact with people but usually fails miserably. Also when she is stressed (beacause of communication with others) has very menacing looks. People usually make wrong assumptions about MC personality and behavior.
reportRecommended by Foxyclaws
Communication problems depicted in two ways: - in Koe no Katachi: deaf girl getting bullied by MC with redemption arc (serious, deals with mental illness) - in Komi: Komi is afraid to speak (not mute) and MC tries to befirend her, thus making her open up more to others (very light-hearted, wholesome; focus on comedy + romance) Both have problems making friends because of their conditions. I like to see Komi-san wa Comyushou desu as what Koe no Katachi would be like, if the MC had tried to know and understand her better by befriending her slowly, instead of bullying her lol

If you are in search of another fluffy manga to fill you with a warm and fuzzy feeling while you read through it, one that makes you smile at its characters and their antics, and are longing for a dash of romance on top of it, Tomo-chan is your friend. Although Komi-san and Tomo-chan are very different personalities from the start, you'll find they share their similarities: They are both working on a communication problem and trying to overcome it in a genuine and earnest way. And both manage to look absolutely adorable while trying! Tomo-chan has a smaller cast of equally likable characters compared to  read more

I have to reccommend Komi for this series cause 1.Both series are about relationships with a communication barrier. with Yuki being deaf and having to use stuff like texts and notepads to talk while Komi is mute and super shy using the same methods of communication except sign language 2.both are very warm and gentle relationships. 3. both females leads want to broaden their views of the world w/ new experiences, yuki w/ traveling the world & komi with experiencing friendship the only reall differences is a sign of affection focuses on the mature adult aspects of being in love. while Komi cant communicate is a shy highschool student  read more

I have a very good feeling (especially with the upcoming anime adaptation) that A Galaxy Next Door will be pretty popular with fans of Komi Can't Communicate. There's just some very similar vibes with the beautiful and "impossibly perfect" female lead meeting a somewhat-average-in-comparison male lead here... the two series are slice-of-life romantic comedy series aimed at a male audience (A Galaxy Next Door is seinen, Komi Can't Communicate is shounen) anyway, so that could just be as expected.
