Synopsis

High schooler Hayase Nagatoro loves to spend her free time doing one thing, and that is to bully her Senpai! After Nagatoro and her friends stumble upon the aspiring artist's drawings, they find enjoyment in mercilessly bullying the timid Senpai. Nagatoro resolves to continue her cruel game and visits him daily so that she can force Senpai into doing whatever interests her at the time, especially if it makes him uncomfortable.

Slightly aroused by and somewhat fearful of Nagatoro, Senpai is constantly roped into her antics as his interests, hobbies, appearance, and even personality are used against him as she entertains herself at his expense. As time goes on, Senpai realizes that he doesn't dislike Nagatoro's presence, and the two of them develop an uneasy friendship as one patiently puts up with the antics of the other.

Underrated; a peak recommendation for any romcom fan.

One of the strengths of "Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro" is its unique and engaging characters. Nagatoro is a playful and mischievous girl who enjoys teasing and tormenting Hachiouji. She is outgoing, confident, and unafraid to speak her mind, which sets her apart from other female characters in similar series. On the other hand, Hachiouji is shy and introverted, struggling to express his feelings towards Nagatoro. He is often overwhelmed by her teasing but secretly enjoys the attention she gives him. Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (11/? eps)
First let me say that the art of this manga is phenomenal and Nagatoro herself oozes with personality, with fantastic facial expressions. The art is what initially drew me to the manga and it is a wonder to behold.

However, the enchantment doesn't hold up, because by Chapter 11 there was zero character development and this series was already giving signs that it would be very repetitive. Dominant girl bullies submissive MC, rinse and repeat ad infinitum. To test this hypothesis I skipped to chapter 73 and saw that their dynamic was exactly the same, and by the end of that chapter a trope was used ...

Preliminary (57/? eps)
After making such an effort to read this far into the manga, I can safely say that I'm not into this shit.

This review won't really contain any big spoilers, because even after re-reading until chapter 57, the story is so forgettable that I don't remember any of the specifics.

It reads more like a fantasy put into a book, like a fanfiction of a young masochist.

The plot is repetitive, an endless loop of using torment as a way to show "affection", if you want to call it that.

There is no protagonist. Like, I get it, the whole point of this manga is for the protagonist ...
