| Technically I started using mal in 2017, I searched up anime and manga recommendations here but never made an account till last year. If I didn’t make a mal account I rlly doubt that I would have watched/read the amount I have now. |

| Started on summer holiday,but i knew about it longer but i became true anime fan after i created profil here before that i just watched some shows i watched as kid but didn’t remember them. |

| This site helped me a lot in not only knowing a show but also getting info. about it. Anime list helped me in storing all the watched anime as well as the anime I will watch in the future. I discovered many good anime and hidden gems and most importantly it's used worldwide and the users can rate an anime. |

| I don't really need recommendations, I have enough sources, not even including friends, but I'm glad I can organise my anime, manga, manhwa and novels a little better than before. I'm still gonna write down finished anime series though-i have a list. |

| I started using mal in 2016 since it had problems trying to keep up with anime i've seen and rewatch and this site help me out mostly with my Precure and Yu-Gi-Oh shows. |

I created my current profile from some older export I made. This site is really convenient for tracking my progress and following the relations of the anime titles I have watched with other titles. |

| I registered in 2018 a year after I discovered anime.Not gonna lie finding the site was a blessing.The database covers almost all anime and the order of a franchise also helps a lot.It also showed me a way to vast amount of shows and introduced me to seasonals. |

That's sorta what happened to me, as well. I joined in late 2015, luckily only a few months after I had officially started watching anime - not counting Saturday morning 'cartoons'. Definitely. When I first joined it was because a friend had showed me PocketMAL, and I thought it was pretty neat so I made an account and added the shows that I had seen so far. I probably would have run out of anime to watch if I hadn't joined MAL. Now there is no shortage of places where I can find interesting stuff, whether it's from the popularity pages or through Reviews or clubs or from my Friends' profiles. Are you glad that it made things a whole lot easier to organize and choose what you can watch/read? Considering I was legit physically writing stuff down, this is so much nicer. Now I mostly use things like Recommendations and MALGraph to add more similar stuff to my list, and that helps a lot. It took a while but now I also have a good system developed for how I organize and get through my list, which wouldn't have been possible without all the specific details you can add on your List (Progress, Tags, Dates, Priority, etc.) I get very sad whenever MAL goes down. I usually jump to AniList in the meantime because it has one of the larger databases and I can easily import my list (and honestly I really like the design and layout), but it doesn't have all the functionality of this site so I only stay there until MAL comes back. |

I only decided to make an account here, because my external hard drive, which had my anime-list, died. |

| In 2008-09 I remember stumbling upon MAL occasionally when searching for anime. I voted 2013 because that's the year I actively used this site. I finally joined in 2014. At first I was surprised I had only 200 completed anime when I joined. I thought I would be in the 400+ already given that I watch anime since the early 00's. My anime list is constantly growing since I joined MAL in 2014. Thanks to the decision of signing up on MAL |
