THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Yeah, the more I watch Kurumi in this show, the stranger my impression gets from her.

Pretty typical episode. They toned down the violence and put Asuka and her friends into maid outfits. I mean, they could of done this much earlier but it is what it is now. I'm kinda surprised this type of episode wasn't done earlier. On the other hand, Asuka reflecting her thoughts and experience as a magical girl is important.

Heh, they actually managed to give this anime somewhat of a proper send off.

It's a shame. I liked the premise and a few episodes but it went downhill quickly. 3/10 for the anime.
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. So the ending of this anime wasn't an ending but it also seems nothing will follow.
As for Peipei she only gets introduced now with not much to add towards the anime, kind of a shame in development.
This was pretty much a promotion of the manga seeing how things ended, that being said i did enjoy this.

I guess no matter how powerful you just can't stay away from paperwork. Medic and interrogation specialist huh interesting sides of the career. Guess mercs are also a good choice of career for magical girls who want to disguise themselves. Still its nice to meet the last member of the magical five. I guess having their past enemies work for them is also a good way of allowing the team to observe them and contain them if needed. Despite the nature of the magical girls its nice to see their deeds change people's perception of them. Asuka's realization of the real reason that her friends fought and died for was nice to see. While people may view them with suspicion the girls still did their best to ensure that there will be a tommorow for the common people. An interesting last ep that did well in dividing its time showing the past of the magical five and how things are happening in the present.

Average ending for a rather weak show, but at least it had some lesbian action.

And it was still a fun ride I overall.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Asuka has been my favorite show of the season, and I’m missing my weekly fix already. I’m really tempted to start reading the manga to see the gang’s further adventures. With luck we may see a second season or a movie, they certainly left it open ended for more.

I’m so jealous, I need me a pet doggy like Kurumi has, but I’m afraid my wife would object. Lol

I can’t decide if Tamera is a little bonkers, or if Sister is a shapeshifter. It’s a mystery.

It did seem like there was more Yuri action this episode than usual. Who woulda figured Abby was a screamer?

Clearly a promotion of the manga. But to be honest I enjoyed it. It wasn't anything over the top and special, but it had this SOL charming in it that made it enjoyable. I believe the manga is worth checking out since the anime itself shows room for a good source.

Magical girls never have it easy. The series irritated me greatly, but it also had interesting moments. I will probably remember Kurumi the most, as she seemed to me the most interesting and the weirdest.

Well the last episode has arrived and it seems that things have become more peaceful, but in the background the gears of war and death are moving slowly.
The battle of Okinawa stayed in the past and now Asuka and Kurumi fight another battle, the reports of the incident these girls have no rest, including the rest of M squadron, the only lucky one is Sacchu. Mia by her side also completes reports, but she also unfolds a new mystery of the Babel brigade.
Kurumi is definitely a sadist, Poor Chisato who is already devastated after knowing the horrible truth of her mother's accident, now Kurumi will remove all the information she can get from Chisato and seeing how Kurumi pierces Chisato's breast with that big needle is terribly painful, added to that terrible scream of pain, Kurumi is already at the edge of madness if she loves torturing people.
Then we travel to Russia and we see Tamara being congratulated for her work and as a reward they let her see her beloved sister, but later we see that Tamara is being deceived and what she is embracing is a huge stuffed animal, what did they do with Tamara?
Today we could see some action from Pei Pei side. Why all the magical girls in this anime are lesbians? (It's not that it bothers me, I love the Yuri, but I feel it is something imposed).
Pei Pei or Liu as she is called now is quite ruthless, now she is a hired assassin and mercenary, which explains why the extreme change of image, but I must admit that Pei Pei's new appearance is damn hot, that spectacular body with curves that make you want to go through them with your hands, but I still feel that something happened to her so she would end up with that appearance and in the current situation she is and unfortunately we will never know what made her change.
Seeing the physical state of Chisato was sad, Kurumi introduces her to Nazani who already passed through the "reformation" of Kururmi, what a shame is to see that little girl behaving like an obedient dog. Nazani tries to get Chisato to consider joining the squad, but poor Chisato is still very hurt for her life, but is finally Kurumi who convinces her and she finally accepts, but the pain in her heart continue there. How fun it was to see Chisato and Nazani dressed as Maids, Asuka and the girls visit turned out to be very funny, personally I would go to that Maid cafe just to see the girls.
Damn ... that hot scene of Abigail and the Queen having sex was nice (the people who made Domekano could learn how to make a good sex scene from this one).
The Queen has big plans for the objects she has stolen, who will be that container that will suffer because of the Queen's plans?
It was beautiful the scene in which Asuka sees her fallen companions, I think that seeing the 6 magical girls who died moved me a little, it is sad to remember how some died.
The flashback of when the girls were still in the magic war was interesting, all the girls had plans to join the army, except for Kurumi who wanted a night of passion with Asuka, but Asuka feels that there is nothing she wants to do at the end of the war, but Francine (the girl who is the Queen in the future) encourages her to try to find something that she likes and then we see how the magical five face new threats that we will not see because this anime has ended.
If I am sincere enjoy this anime, had its failures and bad moments, but despite that I enjoy it, also see well proportioned girls does not hurt anyone and the yuri service was decent. I give this anime 7/10, just because there were many things pending in this last episode, the participation of Tamara and Pei Pei was little, the same with Mia. The fights were not bad, but there were few of them. I doubt very much that this anime has a second season, the manga in which it is adapted I have seen that the Raws are in chapter 44 and there is a lot of action in between, but the manga translated into English I think it was stuck in the chapter 14, which is a pity, but even so go and give a look to the manga, the girls are more hot and sexy, especially Asuka.

Sooo the plot still went nowhere after 12 eps, they fought some demons , monologued and thats it . From reading the raws its gonna be some weird Russia agenda arc next wile the main conflict is still nowhere in sight.

We found out for sure who the main antagonist thanks to the lesbian scene and lesbian declaration in the flashback, too bad the main cast wont know for who knows how long.

I was mostly interested in whats the Queens agenda , but since the author does not want to tell us i kinda lost all my investment for the manga.

Overall I liked this show but the pace was all over the place and the first few episodes were pretty much a prequel while the actual story with action started midway.

Also what was the point of introducing Peipei at this point? (plus I really don't like how she went full gal..now then she did say she didn't want to change so there might be something more to it)

I wouldn't mind another season though, we only got bones and it could really use some meat.

Kurumi is so fucked up lol, I wonder if Chisato will be like "fuck it" eventually and kill herself anyway (but I am glad she lives at least, maybe a complete redemption is on the way).

I am glad they decided to give those girls a chance at redemption, they kinda deserved it since they were deceived. Kurumi is one scary character but she's alright though. Did we just experience on screen Yuri sex, oh my word the blurred lines! It sure knows how to go to the extreme.

Overall this episode didn't feel like the finale for me, to me it was lackluster and didn't give that epilogue feel. They haven't even touch the Queen, so it left us hanging. All in all it was a series for people who are attracted to anime characters, mainly people who like fan service and crude anime violence. Mainly for boys in puberty, with those giant boobs, Yuri sex, torture and sexual baits. Asuka was cool though I liked her, she would've been great if she was on another series. They could've used that heavy fan service to create a good plot instead, that's why I will never find Ecchi to be great no matter what because it isn't for me.

6/10 5/10.

Only reasons to resort to torture are:
-inability to persuade or bribe (nothing to use or incompetent or stupid)
-personal reasons such as catharsis or pleasure
-religious reasons and fanaticism
-corrupt sense of justice
What do you know, i was right, what a surprise.
She's clearly doing it for cathartic reasons. Probably out of her inferiority complex.
They tried to play it out like it was a good thing that had positive results, and that's very... problematic to say the least lol.

Nice to see some good emotional moments this episode. Definitely is needed break from all the edge. I guess this works as an end, though it was clearly just a bottle cap on a cutoff point.

Yeah, she was obviously doing it because of her past of being bullied, and Chisato triggered those memories with the punching bag line, so she wanted to vent her frustrations from her past out on Chisato by torturing her.

She straight up said "I don't think you know anything, but I'm going to torture you anyway". Kurumi is a psychopath...the kind that makes you think maybe the Babel Brigade aren't he only bad guys.

Also, yes the little loli doggy girl claiming to be happier now as a slave and Chisato thanking Kurumi at the end were both kind of odd...

The barbarous custom of having men beaten who are suspected of having important secrets to reveal must be abolished. It has always been recognized that this way of interrogating men, by putting them to torture, produces nothing worthwhile. The poor wretches say anything that comes into their mind and what they think the interrogator wishes to know. -Napoleon Bonaparte

Also note, the anime added a lot to the torture scenes that were not in the manga, in fact I'm not even sure if Kurumi tortured Chisato in the manga, or just threatened her with torture, so I would say it was definitely there for the fetish factor

It had an open book ending, but I rather want this than some rushed silly resolution that deviates from the original source. So by and by, I'll take the cliff hanger I guess.

The finale is one lump sum of expectations gone awry.

Sure, the over-the-top violence got the better of me, but in the end, it just becomes an advertisement for the manga, and nothing else.

Regardless, Iike this show for everything that it offered in the table.

So we had two non-hentai hentais this season... Domestic Girlfriend and Mahou Shoujo Tokushusen Asuka. I think this might have worked better as an actual hentai lol

This show had some promising concepts, but ultimately it fell on its face in many ways. LIDENFILMS must've given most of their staff a holiday after Hanebado. As good as that show looked, Spec-Ops Asuka looked inferior in just about every way (that might be bias on my part though, since badminton is my jam). I know Boarding School Juilet came out in between them, but I haven't watched it. :P

I feel a little conflicted though. If they make another season, I'll probably watch it, but I'm still giving it a 5/10.

As cute as it was and how much i don't really have any personal complaints with it, it's still a very... irksome message they are selling with it. I'm of a less than popular opinion of freedom being something i think could be optional, and i could never look down on someone who is totally okay with an objectified or subservient position, even if it was not consented (i'm not even entirely opposed to being in that position myself if i can trust my owner/master to not make my life bad). I always stand by, if they got no problems with it, and there's no psychological instability or delusion, then nobody has the right to complain. BUT this sold it almost as if they were saying torture makes you better... I'm like... what?

Wow, keeping the other girl as a pet slave- Kurumi lived long enough to become the villain, as they say lol

It's a magnificent piece of trash, which I recognized right from the start, so it was pretty much what I expected and was fun. Asuka and the theme of war and trauma is serious enough and well executed.

Probably the most disappointing thing about this anime was the constant tease of girl who barely appeared in the show and didn't even talk to her comrades in the present and the fact this anime didn't really build up to anything, amounting to a manga commercial. This last episode was something of a waste from a narrative point of view, and suffered from a lack of transition between scenes.

Virtual Reality lines!

"Fairy reports are just a few paw prints on a piece of paper."
"That's racist!" *DING!*

KURUMI IS A MANIAC!!! KILL YOURSELF IF YOU CAN, BECAUSE SHE'LL JUST HEAL YOU AND TORTURE YOU SOME MORE! HOLY SHIT! THE ULTIMATE SADIST!

Holy crap, Tamara is being manipulated...

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO PEIPEI? She went from innocent and modest Chinese girl to WTF?

"Having fun usually involves sex." And this is a loli talking...

"I didn't change my face because I wanted to." Oh...so something like plastic surgery to hide her identity. That explains her face...and her chest...

Kurumi got a bitch...

Only 30 Magical Girls in the world...one for each major country...Sounds about right...

So Francine...ahem...I mean the Queen is just battle hungry and just wants a war? Simple enough...

"Fight so that we can see tomorrow." A nice message...

"Let's lock ourselves in a room and go at it like animals for three days straight. I just bought lots of lube."
FRANCINE! She knows what Magical Girls really want! I bet she rubs off from Tabira.

"If you talk like that, I'll mess with your brain and destroy your libido."
As in no sex drive? Holy Shit Kurumi! What a comeback! DON'T MESS WITH THIS GIRL!

"There are no endings in the real world." This line is a winner.

Mahou Shoujo Tokushusen Asuka....Weird art, limited animation, and fan service of all kinds done with the budget that it had. It was edgy, it was sexy, and it was damn fun. The theme of magical girls still fighting after a major war and Asuka suffering from PTSD was a great concept. And just like the real world where there are good and bad people, there are good and bad magical girls as well. Screw the "magical girls are heroes that save the world" theme. The fight never ends for these girls. And forget those traditional frilly dresses. These magical girls are dressed for WAR. If a season 2 of this gets made, it's going straight to the top of my priority watch list. Give this anime more budget, and let's really push the edge to the limit. Step aside Yanderes. Kurumi has got magic, and she is not afraid to use it!

Some more flashback scene to the time when they were still together. I guess everyone except Asuka has some sort of goal in mind.

Pei really changed her looks. But it seems it was not intentional, and she only changed because a situation forced her to.

Why do the masked boss of the Babel Brigade want even more war? She looks so much like that magical girl who died in the war. Maybe somebody revived and corrupted her?

The scene where Asuka saw a vision of dead friends made me smile. Did they really magically appear or she just remembered them from memory?

Nazani... well, being a waitress in cafe is better than going to jail for killing 10 cops.

Chisato wears stockings to hide her robot leg. Hopefully, she could have at least a more normal life now. She still keep the cellphone pic together with Giess, I guess she did care for him.

--- hoping for season 2 :)

Phew what a series. Certainly had it's ups and downs.

The most interesting moral of this story is that war twists good people.

Each of the magical girls have quirks to their personalities, but war only exacerbated them.

It's interesting that it took this final episode to really hammer that home. Each of the magical girls has a serious problem in some respect. Definitely something to ponder on there.

I don't think this anime will be getting a sequel unfortunately, but to be honest, I think it ended about where it should've.

Interesting that we got it confirmed that the blonde magical girl is the same as the masked bad guy last minute too.

Going to rate it 6/10. It was fairly average but I did come back and watch it every week so it was doing something right.

Would be quite annoying if they don't give it a second season, considering how they teased us with tiny hints of the Queen's identity & her own words claiming Asuka's squad was not ready yet for a war.

Globally I found it enjoying : a mature & realistic (understand this word as "modern / cotemporary") show mixing magical girls (usually seen as cute teenagers fighting the Evil with the power of magic & light) and human conflict. Monsters were defeated but the real enemies replaced them.

There were obviously a lot of negative points to quote such as the average/low quality of animation.

honestly magical girl asuka is a show with a neat premise but is heavily weighed down by poorly paced comedy and serious edge-ness and complete unnecessary fan service in which every time it brings up a interest topic like victims of war our characters suffering from getting involved with terrorist acts it just has to slip in some sexual content that doesn't add really anything, it's a classic case of having the cake and eating it it's just hard to take serious ya know.

while it doesn't completely fail in all these mature aspects Asuka herself as a character suffering from PTSD of losing her former magical girls was well done and pretty interesting i liked her a lot.

so 6/10 that OP was fire tho

Damn that was a spicy episode. Between Kurumi lezdom, naughty girl talk, and actual yuri sex, I'm pretty much dead at this point. And to be honest, if there's a season 2, I'd like to see more like this episode; this whole series was basically a service show anyway, so lather it on as far as I'm concerned lol.

Actually, beyond just being wonderful, the fact that they used yuri sex to show that the queen is Francine was pretty funny. I remember someone mentioned to me that might be the case before, but that scene confirmed it for me since they made a point of her high libido in all the flashbacks :P

Good "popcorn flick" for sure, I'd definitely watch a season 2.

haha. spicy indeed. Will watch season 2 as well.

Man, why is it only at the alst ep that we get to see Pei Pei and not in her original form.

Man Kurumi is sick , very much a sadists, her reference to Red Scorpion.

Here's her reference to Red Scorpion. and yes it's a 1988 movie by Dolph Lundgren,

1. The bad magical girls redeemed themselves. I think it's a good thing.
2. Always ask me when the magic Chinese girl "Penpen" would appear and it turned out to be the blonde haired brunette, I never imagined it. I thought she belonged to the Tower of Babel.
3. What the fuck with the scissors of the minute 16:57?
4. What the hell? Does the Russian Government work with Disas? The sister of the Russian magical girl is just an illusion, that sad: 'v.
5. Asuka will break her heart when she finds out that her supposed deceased friend Francine is the one who runs the Tower of Babel.

It's the first magical girl anime I've seen and finished. I thought he was good, interesting and trained. At least, it did not bore me. I give it a 7/10. I'm waiting for a second season.

I could have lived without all the extended torture and fanservice scenes. Though the torture was interesting, other than the one scene perpetrated explicitly for revenge I disliked it because it feeds into the false and pervasive trend in the media to show torture as effective. When real life proves that it isn't. But as the show went on and wallowed in its own darkness I think it basically subverted this idea. This feels fairly explicitly clear in the final episode where you have the "bad girls" supposedly "redeemed" but much more explicitly simply broken. So you have broken people breaking others in a continuous fucked up cycle. While the last episode dived headfirst into showing everyone was fucked the fact it undermined its own problematic earlier stuff felt a bit like payoff. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it. But I don't think so as Kurumi's actions are just too over the top.

I do not think all are some like Queen Francine are and probably some of the others but not all. The reason is before this whole school thing they could not really relate to anyone except other magical girls because of the secret life they lead.
