Their animation quality have been excellent even before they animated Made in Abyss. It is evident through their Norn9 made in early 2016. The studio has the potential. They will need recognition that they can be a standalone studio and produce good AND successful anime like Made in Abyss. They just cannot waste this chance given to them and wait on Made in Abyss sequel to be unnecessarily delayed and see their profit margin curbed because of it, even if they had to go anime original with the ending, from their point of view, I think they should, which of course would require permission from the owner of Made in Abyss's intellectual property i.e. the author and the publisher. |

My assumption is at least three volumes were included so that would make 5.6K the right number. There is another box set scheduled so I am assuming the rest of the volumes (three or four) will be packed together. |

| Hey, my favorite anime of the year is getting a sequel. Incredible news! After finishing the last episode, I was worried we'd never get more. And that would have been a terrible shame. But once I saw how fast the soundtrack and Nanachi's figure sold out, I knew it'd only be a matter of time. Just didn't expect an announcement this soon! Cannot wait to dive back into the terrifying, yet beautiful Abyss. |
