　Monthly challenges are time limited events created from member's submissions. They will provide exclusive badges that can only be earned by completed the challenge during the month it gets released.

　Each monthly challenge will follow a provided theme that can match the month it's released in or just something very different. It will all depend on the submission, the voting and the final winner.

　You will have the whole month to complete them, but that's it. Remember it's a time limited challenge.

PARTICIPATING RULES

Difficulty: complete the four main items listed.
　— No second run (x2) available.
Previously completed series aren't allowed. Neither is re-watching.
　— Series previously started can't be used.
　— Airing can be used, but you must complete the series, so you can only turn-in the challenge after the series has finished airing.
Any type is allowed, but must be equal to or longer than 15 minutes (total). At least ONE of the series must have: (updated on April 1, 2024)
　— 10 episodes or more (of any duration) or
　— 4 episodes or more (20 minutes or more per episode)
Remember that it's required to add the start and end dates to any anime you use for our challenges.
You cannot use the same entry more than once.
You will need to have made a participating post on the monthly thread before the challenge period ends.
　— The challenge period will always use (UTC-4).
　— The challenge period will start on the first day of the month, at 12:00 AM (UTC-4).
　— The challenge period will end on the last day of the month, at 11:59 PM (UTC-4).
You must finish watching all anime to be used for said month during the challenge period of that month (UTC-4).
　— Don't try cutting it so close to the start/end dates as you risk invalidation.
　— You will be required to state your time zone on your challenge post.
If your stated time zone is different to UTC-4:
　— You still need to use the challenge period (see point 6).
　— If the first of the month at 12:00AM (UTC-4) is ...
　　• ... before the first of the month at 12:00AM (your time zone), you may start your challenge early.
　　• ... after the first of the month at 12:00AM (your time zone), you will have to wait to begin your challenge.
A bonus items will always be provided.
　— It is highly suggested that you complete them, as they will be used in case you have an invalid.
In case you are unsure if a series works for a particular monthly item, don't hesitate to ask on the Queries thread or on the "#📅-monthly-related" channel on our Discord Server (link on the club profile).
　— You can also directly mention the inspectors assigned to that month (listed with the Turn-In Form) or an admin.

TURNING IN RULES

All monthly challenges will be turned in on the corresponding monthly thread.
　— A Turn-In Form will be provided, with mentions to the ones inspecting said month.
Monthly Challenges turned in on the Main Turn-Ins thread will be ignored.
You will only have one month after the monthly challenge ends to turn them in.
　— Once the month has passed, the thread will be locked and no new turn-in nor fix will be accepted.
Prior monthly challenges already turned in will be moved to a priority queue and thus be inspected out of the previous set order.
　— We will start with the oldest monthly challenge, based on where we are at from the last validated challenges.
　— This will continue until we catch up to the July 2023 Challenge.
Invalids for prior monthly challenges will continue to be handled on the Invalids Challenges thread.
Older Monthlies that haven't been turned in will no longer be accepted.
　— This was previously allowed. After the announcement, all of August 2023 was granted for users to turn-in any pending ones.
　— Any monthly challenge turned in after that will be promptly marked as invalid.

Turning-In Form Example (will be provided on each monthly thread)

INVALIDS RULES

Invalids refer to those items for which the anime you stated doesn't match the requested.
You can only use anime watched during said month to replace an invalid.
　— Must be started and finished during the challenge period.
Users will have seven (7) days, after mentioned, to fix an invalid.
　— After the seven days, if no fix is received, the challenge will be considered forfeited.
In case of an invalid, you will be allowed to:
　— Use the provided bonus item during said month, thus completing the standard version of the challenge (without bonus).
　— Replace the invalid anime with another watched during said month.
　— Shuffle the series used between different items.
In case of an invalid for which you do not have any previously watched anime to replace it:
　— If you receive the invalid call during said month, you will have the opportunity to watch something new to replace it.
　— If you receive the invalid call after said month ended, you will need to forfeit the challenge and leave it as an invalid.
Users that turn-in their monthly challenge during the last few days of said month, have a higher chance of receiving an invalid call after the month ends.
　— You will be considered already warned, in case you don't have a series to fix an invalid, thus we won't make exceptions nor receive protest in case you have to forfeit.

Invalids of Older Monthlies (applies until we have caught up with the backlog)
Most of the rules stated above will apply.
In case of an invalid, you will be allowed to:
　— Use the provided bonus item during said month, thus completing the standard version of the challenge (without bonus).
　— Replace the invalid anime with another watched during said month.
　— Shuffle the series used between different items.
In case of an invalid for which you do not have any previously watched anime to replace it:
　— You will be allowed to watch only one new anime to replace an invalid. That anime can't be used on the monthly challenge it was watched on.
　— If there are two invalids, you will need to use the bonus item for one and the new series for the other.
　— If there are three or four items invalid, you will need to forfeit that month.

BONUS ITEM

The Bonus item is the fifth item provided with the winner's submission. As an extra.
You must complete the main four provided items in order to be able to use it.
You cannot use the bonus item as a substitution for one of the main items from the get go.
　— If you are found to have purposely incorrectly filled an item, just to skip it and use the bonus, you risk getting banned from the monthly challenges.
The idea of allowing the use of it, in case there's an invalid, is due to the limited nature and short watch period of the monthly challenge.
　— You must still focus on doing the main four items correctly.
The following mistakes will add you on the warning list, with risk of getting banned from the monthly challenge, if it is found to be a frequent occurrence:
　— Listing an anime as completed when said item isn't part of your list.
　— Consistently missing to add the start/end dates for the series used.
　— Repeatedly using an anime that wasn't watched during the challenge period.
　— Repeatedly using an anime that is too short to fit (ie. shorter than the requested).
　— Repeated and constants mistakes on the main items. (ie. anime isn't on the provided list, anime is obvious that won't work, etc.)

THE BADGES

A badge will be made for each monthly challenge stating "Completed the Month 20xx Challenge".
　— A yearly theme will be selected to be used as the main badges.
　— Other badges can be donated for each month.
All badges must follow the requirements stated on the Badges Donations thread.

SUBMITTING RULES

The items cannot list any specific anime.
　— Must be attainable for everyone, and since you never know what series someone has or has yet seen, no specific series are allowed.
　— In the same manner, it cannot require/include series with more than 26 episodes.
The items cannot be bound to any specific user's anime list.
　— They cannot give away the user that suggested it neither.
The items must be achievable within a month.
　— Think of how long it'd take an average person to watch and complete the items.
Cannot use or require anything related to currently airing/ongoing or not yet aired anime types.
Cannot require/include anything related to Erotica or Hentai.
　— Trying to make it available to all ages without getting too stingy.
Cannot require anything that would give away the user's personal information.
　— Such as "the year you were born" or "the first letter of your real name" etc.
Using TV Tropes for an item is no longer allowed.
If a requirement relates to an external site, such as aniDB or Anime-Planet, you must provide a link to the listing to be used.
Your submission must not contain any item used on the last monthly challenge, as those items are in a one month cooldown.
Keep it a secret which submission is yours until the voting is over.
A Submissions & Voting thread will be created each month.
　— Users interested in sending their submissions for the next monthly challenge will have from the first of the month till the 14th of each month.
　— You will send them to that month's host via private message. You will see who the host is on the Submissions Thread.

PICKING A WINNER

Voting will start on the 15th of each month, until the last day of said month (UTC-4).
Every club member will be able to see all the submissions and vote for their favorite with the provided thread poll.
　— The polls for each month will always be the same: numbers from #1 to ? assigned to the challenges. To vote for a specific challenge, just vote the number it is has been assigned to. Illustration below:

How the winner will be decided?

Their submission, firstly, must comply with the rules.
Majority wins ― the submission with the most votes is the winner.
In the event of a tie (or no one votes for anyone else), it'll be a subjective selection made by the staff by picking our personal favorite and (if they differ) having an outside third party make the final selection.

Note: There cannot be a consecutive winner, therefore the winner of the previous month must forfeit their chance to submit for the next month.

SUBMITTING YOUR PROPOSAL

All submissions MUST be sent via private message (any posted submissions will be deleted and ignored).
　— We will alternate every now and then who will host the challenge each month, be sure to check.
　— If you don't see your submission added after voting is open, please contact the month's host on this club discord server ASAP.
Do not submit a bonus in your submission as all bonuses will be removed (regardless of the month).
Your submission should consist of four (4) items.
　— All monthly challenges will have a requirement of "anime used must be equal to or longer than 15 minutes (total)".
　— Your items can't be restrictive, or require watching a specific anime. They should provide an equal pool of options for everyone, regardless of how much anime they have watched.
　— Make sure to read everything explained before for the rest.
Your submission must not contain any item used on the last monthly challenge, as those items are in a one month cooldown.
We reserve the right to request those submitting a challenge to revise their items, as to make it easier for both participants and inspectors.

PM your submission to the month's host. It will be stated who on the submission thread.

Please make sure to leave the [code] tags as this will allow to just copy and paste your submission rather than having to basically re-create it.

Each monthly winner will have the option to request a personalized badge to showcase winning that monthly voting.
　― Each badge will need to be claimed during the winning month or it will be void, thus you won't be able to claim it afterwards.
Each winner can pick from one of the provided templates and/or must provide their image of choice to be used.
　― You can claim the badge as is (with the image from the template) or request a new image.
　― The provided image should be of the best quality you can find, so it looks good after cropped.
Winners from previous monthly challenges (before this was available; 2020 or before) are allowed to claim with the following restrictions:
