#4 Theme:LuckyLoincloths Explanation: Valentine's Day in Japan - where women give men delicious sweets. Unfortunately, not every guy out there will be as lucky as others. But don't worry, because there's a way to improve your luck for the rest of the year! It's simple: put on your fundoshi loincloth, tabi, and hop on your local train to a Hadaka Matsuri (Naked Festival)! A festival held in February, the most popular Hadaka Matsuri can attract 10,000 men, all seeking to gain luck for the remainder of the year, as well as tens or even hundreds of thousands of spectators. Japan really does have everything.
Colors:Shrine red and hachimaki purple Items:
Watch an anime that has a main title with at least two words that start with the same letter The repeated "WASSHOI! WASSHOI!" (heave-ho! heave-ho!) chant can be heard throughout the surrounding area as participants group up and make their way to the shrine, carrying portable shrines, trunks, bamboo poles, and offerings.
— Words must be separated by a space. Single letters do not count as words (ex: Masamune-kun no Revenge R is not valid). The words do not have to be directly next to each other (ex: Spy Kyoushitsu 2nd Season is valid).
Watch an anime with a scantily-clad character All participants wear just a loincloth and tabi as they seek to purify and dispel the bad luck from their entire body. Part of the purification process involves water, where they either soak themselves in a pool or have water dumped/sprinkled on them.
— State the character used. Character must appear listed on the provided tag list and their site (not necessarily on MAL). Can be main or supporting. Alternative listing: Scantily-clad
Watch an anime that has a male main character with more than 10,000 favorites or that is voiced by one of the 10 most popular male voice actors on MAL The highlight of the festival is the touching of the shin-otoko - the most popular man of the night. The shin-otoko is chosen and kept in solitude and prayer for 3 days prior to the festival. On the day of the festival, he's shaved head to toe, placed outside, and is tasked with making his way back to the shrine. On the way there, all participants try to touch him in order to transfer their bad luck over. The event can become dangerous and slightly violent, as participants may scratch, climb, tackle, and fall over others in order to get a chance to make contact. It's a crazy scene, but atleast for the shin-otoko, it's still probably better than the human sacrifice ritual that was held historically!
— State the option and character used. Valid VAs: Hiroshi Kamiya, Mamoru Miyano, Yuuki Kaji, Daisuke Ono, Tomokazu Sugita, Kenjirou Tsuda, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Jun Fukuyama, and Takehito Koyasu (those without a valid VA role were skipped).
Watch an anime with a character that has a sweet tooth or "mochi" in their name Mochi plays a significant role in the largest Hadaka Matsuri. The bad luck that the shin-otoko receives from all the touching is eventually transferred into a large ball of mochi. This mochi is dark in color and is mixed with soil and the ashes of the omamori from the previous year. The mochi is then tied to the man's back, and he then takes it to a secret location in a nearby forest for it to be buried. Also, prior to the festival's main events, a ball of mochi weighing up to 4 tons is brought over. The morning following the shin-otoko's appearance, the ball of mochi is cut and given to all participants.
— State the option and character used. Can be main or supporting; For sweet tooth, the character must appear listed on the provided tag list and their site (not necessarily on MAL). Alternative listing: Sweet tooth
