Eh it was okay I guess.

Short TV anime with some teasing and girls. Cute but not expecting much overall from the show. It's also like 3 mins long. That blonde's pose though...

It surprised me when i saw they where making an anime of this since fan service or at least innocent things like nipples and such seem to be getting a taboo these days.
US influence most likely, some people from the US can't handle it.

Anyway it's great but a shame about censoring.

fanservice is still very much alive, but nips always get censored until blu-ray release.

Ha, should've known it wouldn't even be five minutes long. I'll check out the manga after this is over, it's the only way to be sure (of avoiding despair)

Well, US company Crunchyroll co-produced My Wife is the Student Council President and simulcasted it fully uncensored, so I guess it depends on the companies involved :)

EDIT: From the "Short?" thread:

JuStS0mE0nE said:
the sad thing,is not that this manga will be 5-min cause it is already expected knowing this studio,it is that this manga was ONLY noticed by that studio and wasn't noticed by other bigger studios.

Generally, a production company like TV Tokyo, Kadokawa etc. greenlights a project, budgets a certain amount of money for production, and then hires a studio that will do it for that price. This is the producer of this show listed on MAL: https://myanimelist.net/anime/producer/1582/Ichijinsha

As you can see, they also produced Citrus. But if you look at Citrus, they weren't the only company funding it; full list of producers:

Sotsu
Lantis
AT-X
KlockWorx
Happinet Pictures
BS Fuji
Tokyo MX
Infinite
Children's Playground Entertainment (how appropriate)
Ichijinsha
Crunchyroll SC Anime Fund

All of these companies together pooled their funds to finance the well-made full-length yuri that was Citrus. In this case, it looks like no one else was interested in investing in a Tachibanakan Triangle anime, and Ichijinsha had to go it alone. 3 minutes and 30 seconds a week from Creators in Pack was all they could afford, and/or they didn't believe in the project enough to invest more.

P.S. I like Creators in Pack, they do good work on the limited time and budget they get.

Ah man, didn't realize this was just a short. That's disappointing, especially with all that fanservice! Hanabi sure is lucky seeing all those big, beautiful tits! We got Yoriko, the blonde girl, and the mysterious silver-haired girl who seemed to have the biggest, most beautiful of them all! I wonder if those cherries were meant as censorship and there'll be an uncut version too.

Okay this is already very disappointing given the good source material, but I guess that was to be expected given the episodes length.

It's honestly kinda impressive that the whole ep, even if 3 minutes long, didn't feature almost any real animation.

Higurashi Gou is the worst anime in existence.

that AHOGE >_< >_< so annoying, so story is similar to Takunomi but opposite? she moves to the countryside?
Aww, i feel like i already love the red-haired fang girl, she has such a cute fang and a cute personality.
So she has connection with that girl then huh, childhood friends, aww how nice <3
But something tells me she is gonna fall in love with a mysterious shower oppai girl and hurt my fang childhood friend :(
And pantiless girl will be the Teasing girl huuuh. There gotta be one teasing girl in yuris after all.

Now i wonder if it the lenth of episodes were revealed earlier, or did it came as surprise.

hmmm,so that's how it works,so the blame is not on the studio as they only do their job with the money they get from the producers,so those production companies pick a manga and start investing it and multiple companies can cooperate in funding a project and when they collect a certain amount of money they hire a studio.but in this manga's case only 1 producer took interest in it and other producers didn't bother.just some questions:
1.so every anime is the choice of producers and studios are just workers under them right?
2.what job does producers have other than funding money?do they have a role in picking voice actors or something and who does advertise the project ?
3.i saw producers that produced like only 2 or1 anime, are those even companies or just individuals spending money on adaptations?
4.on what basis do producers invest money to adapt a manga or a game, because it is popular or selling good or just because they think it is promising ?
Thanks for clarifying!.

I can't really give you good answers to those questions, I've just paraphrased what I've learned from reading Answerman columns :D https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/answerman/

Here's one relating to this topic:
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/answerman/2017-07-12/.118712

1. It works differently with the really big players, like Ghibli and (I think) Kyoto Animation. Violet Evergarden's source novel came to their attention when it was submitted for and won a Kyoto Animation Award. IIRC I heard that Hibike Euphonium was a novel that a director or producer at KyoAni was a fan of, and he wanted to adapt it to anime. I would *guess* that in those cases they decide what they want to do, and then approach their corporate partners with the project proposal, and since they have a stellar reputation and track record, they get the funding.

I just found an older Answerman: "Essentially, the studios themselves very rarely get to pick what shows THEY THEMSELVES want to work on, because that's a luxury afforded to only the crème de la crème." https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/answerman/2013-03-01 (scroll down to the second question)

2. I think I remember reading that yes, sometimes the producers will want to control things like casting. See the horrible mess of a casting meeting in Shirobako. :D And yeah, they'll be in charge of marketing. Well, I guess they'll hire a marketing firm, or use their own marketing department if they have one.

3. I don't know, maybe it's a company that doesn't usually invest in anime. Or maybe some might be a company title set up just for one show, for legal purposes? I watch a lot of anime EDs and often notice that a company with the name of the anime is credited, for instance A Place Further than the Universe (Yorimoi) is "©YORIMOI PARTNERS." That's not listed on MAL, though.

4. In a lot of cases the company to start the anime project will be the manga/LN publisher, since anime is seen as a promotional vehicle to sell manga. Manga sales are gradually falling, though, while international streaming revenues are rising. If a manga/LN is already popular, other companies will be more likely to invest. In general I guess execs would look at recent anime sales figures (and streaming revenues) and decide what's likely to succeed based on that.

Source re: international streaming revenues:

And on the decline of physical manga sales, while digital sales rise (it's unclear whether they'll offset the loss of physical sales):

Awww. I'd been looking forward to a proper yuri anime to watch after Citrus ended. Also, this one began airing on my birthday! Needless to say, MUCH DISAPPOINTMENT .__. I had no idea we'd be getting these short episodes. Didn't realize until watching it - when the episode suddenly ended and there was nothing more. When the music started playing in the background, I thought it was the opening. And then instead it just ended. Like many before me have said, it felt like absolutely NOTHING happened. The episode was over as soon as it began. All I can recall is seeing an inn, and then BOOM - boobs all over the place. And then it ended. Just like that.

Will be dropping this. Might be checking out the manga instead, just to see what source material they had to work with.

Oh dear. It's censored, only 3 minutes long, it tries to adapt 30 pages, not even a single chapter into the episode, and it's already skipping a lot of content.

It's fighting a losing battle right from the start. Maybe one day we'll have a good yuri anime, but it doesn't look like it'll be today.

OK I kinda liked but 3 and a half minutes is disappointing. This could be justified if the manga is a 4-koma, but no, it is a regular manga and you can feel how the chapter is cut off. It's a shame because I was really interested in this series.

Anyway, this was... not very good. As a massive fan of Yuri and CGDCT-anime, I felt compelled to watch this series, but... I pretty much immediately sort of regret it. I just hope that it's be slightly more bearable by the end. I don't want another example of a shitty CGDCT-anime JUST after I named Takunomi. one of the worst I've ever seen :x
