Holy moly, quite a shock there. Here I thought "off" meeting meant off to have fun. Have to admit I was cracking up when I thought about how excited Sato was about the trip and getting a fresh new start. Oh boy, explains the gloomy crowd. I wonder if Sato is going to convince them, or at least Hitomi, to back out of it.

That was probably the best episode so far.

It showed us Satou good side. Sure, he was like that because he though it was a new start, but even if everyone was distant and cold with him, he achieved to reunite them all into one simple action.

I also really liked the contrast of the paradisiac island and depressed mood of the group. The way Satou was so clueless was funny.

There are three possible outcome to me :

- He's not able to save them all and is found on that island by cop or whatever (less outcome possible).

- He's able to delay their suicide and are saved by Misaki, Yamazaki and that other dude or the cops.

- He's able to prevent the suicide and they all come back with the boat they came in (most possible outcome).

LOL this misunderstanding went sooo far xD

Couldn't help but laugh at times.

Omg... that was so epic and dark, when senpai's boyfriend saw the "Love Suicide..." Novel

Holy shit... that private island is huge... what the heck ._.

LOL the guy's having a blast and everyone else had a 'fml' moment xD
What a huge misunderstanding...

~~~ Dark stuff now ~~~
I don't understand why they had to wait to commit suicide... never thought about it afterall...
LOL but a hikikomori trying to befriend people who are trying to commit suicide...
And what the heck O.o
They still don't want to break the law.
They also don't try to cause trouble for others when they commit suicide...
Sure it takes resolve to take ones life...
But if you truly want to disappear and find life too unbearable... if you really were to "disappear" why care about the method? And why not just gather the courage to end it as swiftly and efficiently as possible ._.
Otherwise try to seek help O.o
^ I sound like an asshole now o.o
Anyways... Satou is really lucky to have met Misaki and Yamazaki.
People to worry/think about him so dearly :o
YAY~~!!!!
Satou actually managed to move their hearts!
Oh wait... they still want to die... nvm O.o
Satou made me feel really awkward for him in this episode.
Well, it was kind of ironic that he wanted to have a revolution in a suicide pact.
I guess every ending is a new beginning. xD
Sato, "This is the suckiest Vacation ever".
xD
He just realizes that. A real party would include lots of people who want to have fun, music, food, and activities like dancing, swimming, sports.
Senpai's boyfriend seems like a noble person. Sure he prioritizes work, but I feel like he her. Idk, maybe because he is looking for her so bad and he is in such a calm mood makes me believe that he loves her.
Internet suicide. Heh another reflection of modern societal problems...in a satirical manner. The overall idea and development of this episode is surprisingly slow compared to previous episodes, but there's one thing significant so to say, and that is herd mentality. I believe Satou-kun might be able to convince them otherwise. I'm sick of the conspiracy crap by Kashiwa-senpai already.
I thought the part where Sato tried to use high-level social interaction techniques (small talking) and failed horribly was very funny. I especially liked the part with the older rich guy and how he responded to Sato's small talk. Overall great episode.
>picked up by your senpai/pseudo-romantic interest
>she takes you on vacation
>vacation is a suicide party and you don't know
yep this guy has my luck with girls too.
Can't place my finger on why exactly, but this episode made me feel incredibly anxious through the entire run time... perhaps because of how slow paced it was.
The social commentary has seriously picked up these last few episodes. This was painful to watch in a good way.
This episode was great,might even say my favorite episode yet.
Satou is kinda dense for the realizing the situation they're in earlier.
Thought the other guys were going to have a change of heart when they helped Satou pull out the tree due to his naivety,but nope guess things are that easy (especially in this case that involves suicide).
Hope to god none of them actually manage to commit suicide otherwise it'll greatly affect Satou and make him regress back to what he was like in the beginning of the series (possibly even worse so).
When a Hikikomori meets Nihilists. Lol and he thought he was the worst of them all, so all the broken human beings get together and ready to kill themselves, poor Satou, maybe Hitomi thought that there's no reason for Satou to live any longer xD. Hoping that they all kill themselves, that would be fun, end their sufferings soon.
Well, this was by far the best episode yet. Suicide touches close to home for a lot of us---especially those of us that enjoy the anime, to be frank. It's far more of a touchy subject for writers than murder.
This episode gives me quite a few thoughts.
-So, what an ironic twist. Just as he tries to bear a radically changed and evolved version of himself, he falls further into the pits than ever before. Will this discourage him going forward?
-This is sure to give Misaki the wrong idea. He won't even be able to convince Misaki that she had the wrong idea, since she's convinced the majority of what he says to her is lies. Also, will she be discouraged from helping him out since he wanted her completely out of his life?
-Will it be explained why Senpai brought him along non-chalantly? All forms of communication are now lost with the outside world (destruction of cellphone, private island), and there will be no one left alive to bring Satou back to the mainland. So were they planning on having him commit suicide, as well? Did they just assume he would be on board (no pun intended) with the idea since he's hikikomori?
Got the train rolling. Great episode.
As soon as I saw everyone being so gloomy and the most random group together I knew this "off" meeting had to be a suicide meeting.
Funny how Satou is trying to be all cheerful and actually cheer up the group without knowing so, and actually succeeded for a little while.
Have a feeling Satou will try to "save" these people.
Great episode though.
Makes me kind of mad at Sempai that she would bring Satou to this island for a group suicide and not even fill him in on what's going on. Then again, maybe she told him and he was just too drunk to remember.
Yes, as Kashiwa implied that, and he didn't object. However, I think it was definitely messed up that Kashiwa presented Satou as an abusive boyfriend. I don't even understand what she had to gain from these lies. We have no reason to believe that her actual boyfriend is abusive, so that angle doesn't make sense either. If anyone has an explanation for this, I'm all ears.
I'm glad Kashiwa's boyfriend seems to care more about her than we were led to believe, and he's actively looking for her. Makes her relationship angle much less black and white, and paints her as even more delusional or emotionally unstable.
I like that Kashiwa's behavior didn't come out of nowhere. It was implied that she was struggling with depression back in high school since the earliest episodes.
Misaki's meddlesome behavior proves to be useful. She might just grow on me yet.
"So, Hana-hana, is this the guy you were talking about on the forum?" At first I thought they all were going to think Sato was her abusive/controlling boyfriend, but it seems she clarified in her last post hanging out with her high school hikikomori friend. Explains why the others aren't being awful to him.
Sato is alarmingly slow..."Yaaaay, going on vacation with my senpai! Why is everyone so depressed and angry? Wait a minute, shit, you're all gonna kill yourselves?"
It kinda makes me wonder what watching without figuring it out last episode was like. I found myself both laughing and cringing throughout the episode, but mostly because I knew what was going down There were plenty of hints beforehand as well, but if someone using lazier subs that didn't translate as much on-screen text wouldn't have as many chances to catch it. I'm pretty sure the intention was for the viewer to catch on before it was directly "revealed".
Welp, that was a dumb episode. If we're talking combining a suicide meetup with silly stuff, then I think Paranoia Agent did it a lot better. I still like Welcome to the NHK a lot more, but this episode felt kinda... disappointing. They should have either taken this whole thing more seriously, which would have had a bigger impact, or play up the whole absurdity of Sato being there without knowing what it is. As it is now, I think it kind of failed in both regards, as a comedy and as a psychological drama.
That said, 90% of the other episodes were great so far, so I am looking forward to the conclusion! I'll be mad though if their suicidal tendencies and depression are "cured" by just talking it out and this resolves to conveniently... but I'll see. I also hope the gal game plot still goes somewhere and doesn't stay unresolved like that.
Poor Satou, for once he tries to do something with his life, and of course it turnes out he's surrounded by people with even worst mental state than he's in, lol.
Wonder what's Hitomi's plan though, did she take Satou with her so he can commit suicide as well? Petty fucked up, itf that's the case.
