A lot of people on MAL have Hitler among their favorites. Yeah, I realize that most of them are just edgy kids who are putting him there as a joke, but I don't like it. In fact, I've had it with it, and it's been taking a toll on my mental health. It might be funny to some, but it offends me and angers me every time I see a profile like that and I'm sure many other people feel the same. That’s why we need to do something, and I've come up with a plan. On Hitler's birthday, April 20, we will all add him to our favorites at the moment the day begins, wait patiently, and then, just a few minutes before the day ends, we will all remove him from our favorites at once. Yes, we’ll be giving him a digital abortion. And then we’ll go to the profiles of those who still have him on their faves and kindly ask them to remove him. If they refuse, we’ll gently and kindly send them some funny memes that make fun of people who do edgy things online, until they remove him. We will silence them. The process will be initiated three months and three days from now, at 12:00 AM German time (GMT +1). I'm going to create a Discord server. We can join the voice chat while adding and removing him. When we're done, we can play Roblox with those who remain in the VC and get off some steam. I trust that this process - being united, being *allies* against him and his evils - will help us mentally move on from this a little bit. It will be like he died on the day was born. I've already had some friends join, but we're going to need the numbers. It is important that we gather as many people as we can and reach out to at least 80% of those who have him before the 30th of April, which is the day he died, or else he will have completed a full cycle, and metaphorically speaking, Hitler particles will spread all over the planet's sky again like 400 billion fireflies, for we will have revived his name and given energy to it, and it will be like summoning a demon and not being able to exorcise it. They may not all remove it, but it's important we reach out to them and do our part, we can always try it next year until the number of his favorites reach 0. By removing the comments section where people used to celebrate his birthday, MAL passed us the ball, and now we have to score the goal. Remember to win them with kindness. Do not flood anyone's comments. If MAL considers us a threat to the site's authority, we will unionize once again and boycott. If you want to join, post "I want to be a part of all of this." in the comments. Remember, this may take a lot of time. I've already made my preparations and left one spot open in my favorites. Thanks for reading, and I hope I see you. Let's banish that demon to hell. |

@lostsymphonies You fail to realize that the problem isn't whether the content of your comments is an insult or an innocent meme, it's the fact you plan on doing so repeatedly if the user doesn't listen to your demands And i'm sorry to say, there is no problem to solve, a few people being a-holes or idiots online is not a problem, trying to make them remove a psychopath from their favs is not going to change who they are |

Nobody is going to do all this stuff you say. You must be really new to the internet (really REALLY new) or trolling. What is the point of adding him and removing him and then sending comments to peoples' profiles, why don't you skip the add & remove part? Also, who apart from you is going to message everyone who has him as a favorite character? Also, there are some- including me actually- who will just suspect you're trolling and are posting this ironically, for attention. If you're serious, (and kudos if you are) maybe actually post something in your own profile about this; and be more active on the site. 6 forum posts since only July of 2023 and no other activity just spells 'troll' to a lot of folks. |

It's mostly people that just find it funny he's in the database but some of them are Neo Nazis, Crypto Fascists and Neo Reactionaries. It's not really a big deal someone having it on their page compared to the fact there are people still believing such political views based on intentionally striving for oppression and you can't change their views by annoying or harassing them. I do see an issue with Hitler in the person database not for virtue signaling reasons but because he didn't actually write Mein Kampf, he dictated it through rambling rants that were arranged into something more narratively coherent and even had things he didn't even want added to the first edition. |

If it ain't a bait and/or shitpost, then I suggest just moving on instead of paying attention to stuff you don't like. If you are new to the Internet culture, then you might read more about how Hitler has become a global meme of some sort. Edgy cringey, or not, like it or not, that's how it is. That kind of happenings will only result in encouraging trolls to add Hitler to their Favorites section permanently, only to piss off "for fun" people who see it as repulsive. So in short, they will do the opposite to what you've suggested. |

Me as a Polish living in a country which was destroyed by him. "First Time?" I don't care about it, cause if those people would say any positives about him here in public especially in a bar than all I can say is: Good luck in surviving. And I ain't gonna put him into favorites, even for a tiny bit for the cause you've written here. If I would do that I would literally put shame and spit on the dead members of my family who've lived under his occupation and fought against 3rd Reich at 1939-45. |

Assuming this is a genuine post, I'm not quite sure about the assertion that it's gotten "out of control". If people were constantly spamming forum threads with random Nazi stuff, that would be one thing, but just having Hitler in one's favorites is not harmful in and of itself (relatively speaking). I think the concept is stupid, but it's also easy to avoid. |

@The-Nsider Hitler just used deceit politicians usually use but from his time he got to present different tints to his politics to different audiences. To nationalists he focused on nationalism. To socialists he misrepresented his views to sound socialist but werent (just read into the economy of Germany under him). He also didnt open with saying he was going to kill the Jews he just talked of deporting them. During this time the Jews among other migrants were seen as a burden on the country which was having a ba financial time after losing the first world war. Some of the more extreme stuff he said people just didnt think hed actually do i think i heard. Hitler also actually had similar views to the Pan Germanists including antisemitism. So it actually makes sense how it happened. Im going off memory here though and am tired so i might be off on a few things. |

If we didn't want people to mythologize Hitler then we shouldn't have turned him into a mythological figure--some cartoonish symbol of evil. Hitler wouldn't be "edgy" (and therefore funny) if he was just another historical figure buried in history. But if Hitler were forgotten, Holocaust Inc. (a huge moneymaker) couldn't exist and the system would have to find another creation myth besides WWII to justify its axiomatic moral assumptions. You think teenagers in the 80s would think it's funny and brave to say "hail Satan" if it didn't freak out their pearl clutching Christian conservative parents? Also, very true @Ejrodiew |

I'll be using OP's og post as exibit proof N°101 next time I say that gen Z is soft, pathetic, infantile/imbecile, they couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag. This is proof that single mothers, extreme emotional coddling, participation trophies, celebration of mediocrity 24/7/365 in media, feminism and finally sparring the rod, were horrible ideias. FYI giving 2/3 light taps on a fully clothed bottom or one open hand slap on a nine almost ten year old boy cheek after he angrily yelled at his youngest brother "shut up!
