The story line involves the idea that you enter a world that is a virtual reality. They have similar art styles and the game play for the characters is different, but the real world repercussions are more drastic in one series then in the other, but they are still there.
Accel world is probably the closest (maybe) anime to SAO, but probably not as great
both goes to the future with technology that lets you move in 3D world.
both plays games and is pretty serious, although accel world is just an over reacting of seriousness
both main character are good at game
Romantic, SAO has better romance
if you watch this, definitely watch SAO. i think it will be better for most people
To begin with, both series are mainly focused on online gaming, with the exception that they can log out and go back to the real world in Accel World, and the people in SAO are trapped. Both main characters also have a similar goal, Kirito's being clearing the game so they can get out and Haru's becoming the first lvl 10 in Accel World and uncovering it's mysteries. Also, the novels were both written by the same person, which explains why they're so alike.
Both animes revolve around the virtual worlds, being Sword Art Online situated chronologically a few years before Accel World. The writer is the same in both series, so thethe run of events of both series are very similar.
Both have a virtual video game that is release to the public with the question of why the game was made. In both series the main character has an unique ability that special in the game where they or only a few have that ability. Both character team up with a female character that is a strong player in the game. Plus both series were created by Kawahara Reki
Both were set in a virtual world, except in AW it is more on a Frist Person Stance or FPS , while the other in on a MMORPG. another difference, is that in AW the players are fighting to reach level 10, while in SAO it is a life or death situation for the players.
Accel World and Sword Art Online are anime that are set in the future where virtual reality combined with gaming technology is present. They have alternate game realities, which begin seemingly fun until real life tangles into the game and things become a little more complicated for the main characters in both series, making them start fighting for something much more than just simple entertainment. Both shows feature great animation with awesome fighting sequences and it’s no surprise that they share so many plot similarities since they are works from the same author. It's safe to say that, if you enjoyed watching Accel World, you will most likely enjoy Sword Art Online, and vice versa. read more
Both main heroes are fascinated by the virtual world. First, they are loners, but as time goes, they realize that many people care about them and change their attitude to life. Great action anime with a dose of romance.
The easiest way to describe Accel World would be: SAO 2.0. But this time, the protagonist fights in order to impress and to show his gratitude for his true love who seemed to be out of his reach due to their different social status. The setting is placed in the near future, unlike SAO which was more middle-age like. Even the Nerve Gear from SAO is mentioned as an old version of the Neuro Link that is now used by everyone 24/7. Perhaps one needs to get used to the frequently shown emotions, but in my opinion that's what makes the different relationships so exciting!
With both of their story written by the same author, you can't help but notice that their plots are somewhat similar. Both of them involve a setting where the characters enter a virtual world, with some consequences and dangers in their real life.
Accel World and Sword Art Online are created by the same producer thus they're quite similar. Accel World and Sword Art Online are both games that the characters in the anime have to use something like a Nerve Gear and Neuro Linker to connect to the game; a lot of fighting going on. The male protagonists also falls in love with a strong female protagonist.
Most of the setting in both are talking place in a virtual game reality world, and the MC in both anime are fighting for the one they love. On top of that both show have a similar art style so if you enjoyed the one you might just like the other.
It has some kinda like Accel World... Both fighting -games and also using a something Nuero Linker(Accel World) and Nerve Link(Sword Art Online)and the command Drive Link(SAO) and Direct Link or Burst Link(AW) and it's really possible that Kuruyukihime and Kirito is somewhat connected due too both of them likes dark color(Mainly Black) and it has the same writer... So I guess it'll really look like and also in wikipedia it is also a related article
•both are done by the same producer,
•both are gaming anime, which they enter a virtual online game reality, except SAO is constantly stuck in the online gaming world, while AW can log in/out.
•both anime series have a group of supporting characters who help the main protagonist achieve his goalm which they add more intense/comedic/fluff/sad moments throughout the anime.
•both the main characters personalities are far different comparing, but they have a goal, both leveling their characters up to beat the game.
•there similar with the virtual gaming and slight fluff romance, but SAO is much more serious, comparing to AW
Neuro-Linker is the next generation of VR (virtual reality), Accel World use a device known as a Neuro-Linker for access the Internet and enter virtual worlds.
Sword Art Online use VR, With the Nerve Gear, a virtual reality Helmet that stimulates the user's five senses via their brain, players can experience and control their in-game characters with their minds.
First: Its A GAME
Second: Only A limited number of people know or have this game
Third: If they lose in the game they either Die (SAO) or will never be able to play the game again (Accel World)
Fourth: Their Main Characters are both detached from the real world (though in accel world the main character has developed, I'm not so sure yet for SAO)
Fifth: Each episode is something to look forward to!
The store line involves the idea of entering into an alternate dimension that consist of the game world. The major difference being, in Accel World one can log-out from the game to the real world, while in Sword Art Online one is stuck in virtual reality.
Both worlds accel in the world of role playing games where the user is sent to a new world beyond the one they are born into. Fitted with action and romance our heroes learn they are not alone in a world where everyone wants to escape, only to find who they really are. Enjoy ^^
Both take place in the future, involves using special gear to take them to a Virtual Reality. Fight to get stronger. In SAO's case if you die you die for real, but in Accel World, if you lose all of your points you can't come back to play the Virtual game.
Both are by the same author and take place in the same universe. Accel World takes place about 24 years after SAO but isn't a direct sequel. Both are about entering a virtual reality and facing challenges there.
Pretty much what everyone else has said, but its likely that they share the same timeline too, AW being in the future of SAO. This is because the NerveGear used in SAO is mentioned in AW as one of the predecessors to the NeuroLinker, making these 2 series all the more interesting to follow
By the same author, similar conflicts between the two protagonists. And the same futuristic view taking place in two worlds: real life and virtual life. Also in both you'll have a incredible addiction to see the next episode.
So you have two people who find themselves utterly dedicated to video games that suddenly find the game is now their world. What's not to like? Oh, and did anyone mention that Accel World comes a few years after the events of Sword Art Online?
Both anime were based on light novels by Reki Kawahara and follow unique storylines. They're both school-like anime and are based in the future. Both have made use of the "full dive system" which allows them to enter a virtual world using technology. Both have an amazing plot and are well worth the watch. If you liked either one, you'll most likely like the other!
They both are online gaming series. However, Accel World stays solid to the very end plot-wise, Sword Art Online falls apart halfway through. Also, the MC is at first weak in Accel World while Sword Art Online's MC is one of the elite.
These two animes were created by the same person, "Reki Kawahara" and involves the aspect of gaming in both these titles. Both titles develop a connection to the concept of having to play a virtual game, such as relationships and courage. The plot is well constructed in both animes and we see very similar concepts. Even though they both end basically the same way I would've still loved to see the anime developed further with more breath-taking situations. Okay... Enough with that, the action in both animes are almost comparable and well-balanced with the dialogue.
Both animes are about characters involved into a ''full diving'' game. Action, comedy, and a bit of romantic stuff is up for you to grab.Good emotion is added to the characters. Big plus its from the same author so you might reconise the style and some people say accel world is actually whats taking place after SAO several years later. In fact SAO takes place in a ''near future'' while Accel World is acting in the year 2046! Have fun watching!
Where virtual gaming worlds take over and is not just 'a game' anymore, but a matter between life and death. Both animes have a link where virtual gaming have a life threatening impact on the real world. Spending months or even years inside the virtual gaming worlds, who knows which world is the real one anymore?
Accel world and SAO have the same creator. Both are based inside an action packed game world. Accel world is about overcoming ones fears to push forward to defeat your enemy while SAO is about overcoming your enemy in order to survive. both are excellent animes.
Both take place in a game where the characters are fighting for "survival." In Accel World, it is more for the main character's self confidence and support for friends. Both have romance features—the "fighting for the girl" kind of thing. They both aim for the top and finish off the game not as the "best."
These animes are similar because they spend in a virtual reality environment, where the protagonist has to evolve their battle skills in the game, facing great challenges and enemies (without taking into account that they are both creations of the same author).
Both anime are based in a game world, in which if the player dies they die in real life. Accel world is, to be honest, a very very poor anime. However if you liked it, then you are guarenteed to love Sword Art Online for the simple fact that its 100x better, it may be a little flawed however it doesnt take away from the beautiful art and immersive experience you get from watching it.
both are virtual animas that have the character/player put into a game where they play a MMO RPG games and must fight to get what they want whether it would be to get out of the game or to find what's at the end of the road, and both have a cute romance that was enjoyable but not overwhelming to the show (sorry for putting in an opinion),
They are similar because they revolve on playing a virtual world where you design your own character and you decide what world your avatar wants to join like a guild. But the difference is that sword art online you can't leave the game. A player has to complete the game for everyone to go back to their world. Accel World you create a duel avatar from your mind and it creates it based on you life and past traumatic experiences that might of happened then your avatar is designed and it is mainly a fighting game but you can do more in the game. In accel world you can go back to their and accelerate and you can go back to the real world without something happening to you in the game. read more
they are both great series and are very alike accept for in SAO you die for real, but in accel world you just loose everything you have and can't play it. SAO was the first serie I watched and made me start watching. I think everyone that like watching anime serie should watch this!
Both series' are action filled, comedic(somehow), dramatic(in some ways) with a pinch of romance(if that is what you call it).
-Both series' main male protagonist shares the trait of "not giving up" and also surrounded by good friends.
-Both series' revolves around Virtual-MMORPGs.
Both of these series are to be considered very similar they are both created by the same author. The setting for both is in the future and both are about being in the virtual world and the main characters each having an objective to complete. Accel World uses Neuro-Linker, while SAO uses the Nerve Gear, where the players connect to the game. The virtual world in both of the series also involve real life, which creates a serious and intense atmosphere, such as death in SAO also means death in real life. Along with the intensity of the series, there is also romance going around in both of the series. read more
- Both set in future.
- Both are intrigued by virtual reality games.
- Both are socially awkward/loners (at least they start off that way).
- Both use a somewhat similar device to log into their VR games (In Accel World, the device is the Neuro Linker which is far more advanced, later in the series they refer back to the Nerve Gear as the start for VR Gaming many years ago).
- Both have romance (however, SAO serves far more of it than Accel World).
- Both have very strong female protagonists that contribute greatly to their plots.
Keep this short for you guys, takes place 20 or so years after SAO, virtual reality is now more advanced
-later in the show, images show nerve gear from SAO in history of VR text
-same makers as SAO
I'd say if you like the futuristic gadgety world of SAO, then AccelWorld has a similar concept, and we get to see more into the world than we do of SAO. Let it be known that AccelWorld is all about mechs (sorta) and not sword to sword (and other weapons) in Sword Art Online, but the 'Accelerated World' of AccelWorld is close in similarity to the online and dangerous Aincrad or Alfheim.
- Both made by same creator (Kawahara Reki)
- Both told about the technological advances in the world
- Both tells about the story of game
Sword Art Online take from year 2022
Accel World take from year 2046
So, maybe Kawahara Reki tells continuation after the anime Sword Art Online is Accel World
Firstly, both novels were written by the same person, so it might not be a surprise that they feature quite some similarities. In both shows the protagonist enters a virtual world, in which they become strong characters. In both anime the protagonists face consequences in real life as well (related to the game world).
I think SAO had a much more serious atmosphere, but if you liked one it's likely you will enjoy the other too.
Both have great fights with protagonists willing to do anything in order to protect the one they love. Both anime revolve around games. Both players control their avatar with their bodies using a piece of technology called Nerve Gear in SAO, while in Accel World, the technology they're using is called Neuro Linker. Both avatars have a unique ability. Both main characters in SAO must survive in the game. If not, they will die in the real world, while in Accel World, they must fight in order to get more burst points. If their burst points get to zero, the game will automatically uninstall and the characters will lose their memories of the game. read more
Accel world and SAO are similar because they both take place in virtual worlds. Accel World and SAO were written by the same person. They also take place in the same universe(Nerve gear is mentioned in accel world). Accel World is probably set 15-30 years in the future. I liked SAO but I thought Accel world was better. The first few episodes in SAO were amazing but then it went down hill from there. The time lapses in SAO were annoying. Accel World had a better pace to it where I think SAO was really rushed. I think if all 25 episodes were spent in the sword art world then it would've been a much better anime. The only problem I have with Accel World is that they made the main charecter look stupid in my opinion. He's really short and chubby. I think that that might be one of the turn offs people have to watching this anime. I just think that Accel World was the more consistent anime.  read more
They both revolve around jumping into MMO virtual reality games and are both set in the future. However, there are a couple differences. First off, the protagonists are complete opposites in all but one quality. Secondly, the depth of romance in the story in incomparable to Sword Art Online. So if you are looking for a deep romance between characters that develops fairly quickly, I do not recommend watching Accel World.
- Both written by the same author
- Takes place far in the future in the same universe as SAO (But not a direct sequel)
- Builds on the technology introduced in SAO such as the Nerve Gear
- Both involve online games as a major story plot
- Lots of action, with some romance and drama tied in
Both Accel World and Sword Art Online are written by the same author and are both centered around virtual reality video games. The differences are in the tone and stakes of each show as well as the characters being quite different. However, if you liked SAO, you'll probably like Accel World.
-They are both based on virtual reality and take place in the same world, though accel world is in the future.
-Both have a somewhat nerdy (more nerdy in accel worlds case) protagonist and contain a romance element.
-They are written by the same author, Reki Kawahara.
Yes I know both works are by the same creator.
If you liked Sword art Online, where the characters escape from reality into virtual multiplayer game online and have tons of cool actions and fight scenes, you'll definitely love Accel World!
[Action, Adventure, Game, Romance]
Accel World is also an game-based anime where instead of swords, you have this cool armor and unique powers.
I personally find the plot for both SAO and Accel World well done, both graphics to be equally pretty, the battles within the show epic (except Kirito is overpowered) and yes their opening and ending song are one of the reason that i binge through both series.  read more
- The relationship of the main characters improve the more obstacles overcome.
- The plot revolves around a virtual world.
- The main character in both animes are looking for something for himself.
- Romance, action and excitement in each chapter will be presented.
- The history of both anime is really good and although it may have ups and downs, is pretty consistent.
Both the anime is about game world.
In SAO if you lose all your hp you lose your life in accel world if you lose all the points you can't play Accel World anymore.
Both have good actions and story. Quite interesting and worth a watch.
Firstly, both series are by the same author, so you know that if you like one of an author's works you'll be likely to love their other works
Both series are set in the future, which makes them interesting, and the technology is equally interesting
They are both set in the same universe, although Accel World is set further into the future
Both series have a lot of action, and the game that the main character is in has high stakes as a result of in-game death/ losing all points (Real-life death in SAO, whereas loss of the program forever in Accel World) This creates tension, keeping you hooked
Both of the LN novel series are written by the same author. The situation is pretty similar, as both take place in the future with VR, although Accel World happens after SAO. Now to compare the two, the male protagonist is way less overpowered in AW compared to SAO (although AW's protagonist still manages to win sometimes). Another thing to point out is that there are no arcs that really suck (>.> ALO) in AW, and the characters feel more realistic and have more personality. Other than that it's pretty similar with the fighting and all. I won't spoil anything else. :P
-Both are set in the futuristic setting.
-The MC (Main Character) in both animes are new to a game, but settle quickly.
-In both, there are mystery aspects.
-There is action scenes, then non-action scenes.
-A girl aids the MC on their quest and they become their girlfriend.
Characters go into a virtual world where they are tested to see if they have enough strength, witts, and willpower to face the people around them. They both fight to reach the end goal of the game. Much like Sword Art Online, the video game world has an effect in real life.
If you like characters in a virtual world than accel world is your anime. The fight scenes and plot are totally amazing. And if you like those kinds of anime where the character doesn't fit the bill of being the main hero but turns into a total hero later than this is your anime.
Both SAO and AW are set in the same world but in different time periods SAO starts in 2022, and AW in 2046, both have the same author- Reki Kawahara, and both focus and Vitual Reality, the differnce is that SAO tells the story of an OP player Kirito and the protagonist of AW is a begginer who gets drawn in to a mysterious game and tries to be a better player, oh and Brain Burst the game from AW isn't a "death game" and doesn't trap people like SAO.
In both of these series the characters of the story are deeply immersed in virtual worlds and have the similar action of wanting to protect those closest to them. The other similarity I could think of is how If you die in SAO,you die in real life similar to how in Accel World if you lose all your burst points then you will no longer have brain burst.
accel world is further into the future from sao and even mentions the nervegear in a later episode. they both use similar technology which transports human beings into a virtual world. both contain fighting scenes and fight for life. its a great watch for anyone who enjoyed sao
-Both have the main character transported into some kind of game world
-In both, the main character finds and falls in love with a girl
-Both main characters are OP at the game
As a bonus, both are made by the same creator!
These two animes both revolve around games and are share the same creator!
- Although sword art online is more of a do or die situation, Accel world in some ways is the same. Both animes demonstrates how close ties with friendships and bonds.
- Accel world is in the same world as when Sword Art Online took place, but is more advanced.
- In both animes, the creators of the games are unknown...
And both have great fighting scenes and action throughout the whole show!
Both are action-game based where the MC is put inside the virtual world.
Both are considered underdogs in the beginning, but rise to become in-game celebrities.
Both have a female SC that act as a love interest and are both are also top characters in-game.
Fantasy type fighting - Accel World uses special armor based on the characters personalities, Sword Art Online uses magic and special abilities in combat.
The characters in Accel World have the ability to leave their world unlike SAO.
Both have consequences of not "winning" in-game battles.
All in all, two really awesome series that I would highly recommend if you like game tournament or action based animes. read more
Both have a lot to do with virtual reality worlds and have a samiliar feel to them also they are based in the same world only accel world is based about 20 - 30 years later also they both have the same creators
-Both MCs are playing in a virtual world.
-Both MCs have grown fond of a beautiful girl.
-Both anime is all about gaming and virtual reality that players compete.
-Both anime involves girl/s falling in love with the MC.
-Accel World's MC is a dork, weak at first while SAO's MC is overpowered and levels up fast.
-Sword Art Online kills people in real life when they die on the game while Accel World freely and safely lets players log out on their account.
-Sword Art Online's MC attracted girls heart to grow fond for him, this may be because of his determination and overpowered skills in terms of helping/saving them while Accel World only does not.
-Sword Art Online's MC save the girls from danger while Accel World, the girl saves the MC.
-Sword Art Online's MC blames himself from letting his friends/comrades die while Accel World, he blames himself because he is weak.
Accel World's stakes may be slightly lower than that of this show, but at the same time, Accel World takes place in 2039, which is 17 years after Sword Art Online's pilot episode, which occurred in 2022. Accel World made an amazing mention of the Nervegear in one episode, and in the manga for Accel World, Haruyuki even fought Kirito. In other words, Accel World is set in the future of Sword Art Online's timeline. Accel World is also pretty cool in the sense of minor characters such as Ash Roller. Although his screen time was really, really brief, he still managed to be one of the funniest characters I've ever seen in both the english dub and the original subtitled version. I still love how every time he speaks, he increases his number, as in, "I haven't fought on the world's end stage in a while. Lucky me! On top of that, my opponent is a newbie. Now I'm MEGA-lucky! You, however, are GIGA-UNLUCKY!!!" So yeah. go watch Accel world if you like watching Sword Art Online. read more
Although the content is different, both series share a strong similarity. The main characters are offered a way to change their life, possibly in a better way. After being thrown into an alter world in which they battle for power, they form teams in order to survive. In C the characters battle for more money ,while in Accel World they battle for burst points. Each battle won enables them to an upgrade of sorts, in C they upgrade to better ATM cards and in Accel World they level up. If you liked watching one of them you wont regret trying out the other.
Both anime has the same concept of escaping the reality to another imaginary world. In Accel World, the citizens of imaginary world become avatars, and they must fight each other to gain Burst Points (just like gaining money on C).
The main character in both series gains access to a different world. In this world he fights for advantages in the real life. Both main characters stop fighting for the real life advantages and instead focus on figuring out the secret behind this new world.
C is considerably more serious than Accel World. Accel world is more or less a romance comedy with a VR twist. C, however, only has a tiny bit of romance and the main focus is on the plot rather than the characters.
•both contain a ordinary boy who was invited to join 'a different world' which is completely separate to the real world, but the 'world' they were thrown into affects and determines the 'you' in the real world.
•both protagonists have no idea what was to happen, and they find themselves forced to fight in the 'different world' to maintain there life back in the real world.
•both animes show how much greed/determination/selfishness can lead to bad results.
•both anime supporting casts differ completely around the main protagonist, which one is situated in a school, and the other in a university.
•both contain a romance/action/angst
•they are closely similar in which they are thrown into a 'different reality/world' and are forced to fight to benefit themselves in the real world, otherwise its game over in different senses.  read more
Anti-social in the real world but a pro in the virtual realm, both series' main male protagonist makes a name of themselves in their perspective series. Both series adapts sci-fiction themes with a fantasy world setting. And in that world, there are wonders that defies the laws of nature. Although the main male protagonists' personalities contrasts a bit from each other, their spirit of fighting have a similar taste. They are also joined by companions including a main female protagonist with elite skills of her own. I recommend both series for fans of adventure and action packed drama.
Futuristic? Check, Awesome? Check, Derpy protagonists? Check, Awesome female protagonists? Check, Rival childhood friends? Check, Awesome seiyuu? Check!! What else is there to list? Both animes are friggin amazing they even have same same seiyuu and both have ass kickin' OSTs what are you waiting for go watch it NOW!
Futuristic? Check, Awesome? Check, Derpy protagonists? Check, Awesome female protagonists? Check, Rival childhood friends? Check, Awesome seiyuu? Check!! What else is there to list?
Most of the seiyyuu are the same as well~
Accel World and Guilty Crown are both action anime that take place in a futuristic setting and have the same kind of feeling to them. Both series contain male protagonists that are weak and crybabies at the beginning of the story. After meeting the main female characters which are beautiful, popular and out of their league, the leads decide to become stronger in order to meet their expectations or protect them from harm. Both anime also offer superb animation and incredible fights between the characters. If you enjoyed watching one of them then you should definitely check out the other.
The character relationship are similar. Ouma and Haru are voiced by Yuki Kaji, as an individual with no confidence, thinking that they can do nothing, they both meet a girl (Inori in Guilty Crown and Kuroyukihime) and see a whole new "world" about what they can actually do.
Just that Accel World had a much better story planning.
Main Similarity is the Characters :
Both has that one main girl protagonist who is awesome and powerfull , one that every anime should take a note of , and of course that one main male protagonist who is a retarded coward and a crybaby who should not waste the air that girl breaths :P Guilty crowns main character is a bit better than the fat short guy though .
You want some awesome and extreamely rare romantic/action animes that can bring the both genres perfectly and equally ? Well , it looks like impossible in this century , since they always find a way to destroy that . Some has a little bit to none action , some has only blushing stuff , and these one has that character you want to kick out of anime , get in his place and show how it's done. :P read more
Both series contain that Sci-fi theme involving battle. I find a small resemblance between the Endlave in Guilty Crown similar to the Duel Avatars in Accel World in which both are human battle avatars/mechs. Romance in both series are also imminent.
Since Guilty Crown, the only thing that I know from this anime is all about character which Yuki Kaji's speciality: a nerd/solitary/loser person, but smart (Shu and Haruyuki). But his life changed after he met with a popular girl (Inori and Kuroyukihime), so he also caught up in the problems experienced by the girl itself.
Guilty Crown and Accel World share a few key elements.
First and foremost, the main protagonists of both series start out as wimpy losers, but are then given the opportunity by a girl to harness a power they never imagined could exist.
In both the main protagonist reacts a certain way to the power/opportunity at first, but later goes through major personality changes.
Both anime have a high school setting.
Both anime contain somewhat emotionless female leads.
There are more similarities, but I don't want to throw out any spoilers.
Using the template of a Character that start from dust and become a overpower hero, those story focus on a Main Character with very little trust in themselves, that need to overcome this psychological wall, attain from a different reality brought to them, in order to attain their goal. Romance, Sci-Fi, Drama focused. I recommend it to every new people to anime, as these will appear as really entertaining and well made. In my opinion, Staple to the "guide", I'm new to anime.
Accel World and Log Horizon takes place in a virtual realm where there's fantasy elements such as avatars and weapons to be utilized for combat. The main male protagonist becomes part of that world along with other characters.
There is combat scenarios that relies on strategy both mentally and physically. The battles themselves are presented in a shounen-like way with quick movements, thinking, and brutality. Surprisingly enough, both series' OST has a catchy tone that matches the battle phases of duels/conquests.
There is also comedy with a dose of cuteness involving some of the characters and their interactions.
Ficou decepcionado com Sword Art Online? Está procurando um anime com o tema videogames que realmente gira em torno do jogo? Então assista Acce world!
They both centre around the concept of their reality being influenced by virtual reality, where the stakes are high and the game is battle after battle. The virtual world is divided by evil and good forces in both series.
Anti-social in the real world but a pro in the virtual realm, both series' main male protagonist makes a name of themselves in their perspective series. Both series adapts sci-fiction themes with a virtual world setting. And in that world, there are wonders that defies the laws of nature. Although the main male protagonists' personalities contrasts a bit from each other, their spirit of fighting have a similar taste. They are also joined by companions including a main female protagonist with elite skills of her own. I recommend both series for fans of gaming adventure and action packed drama.
Both of these anime involve the main characters benefiting from games, however if you were watching Accel World and were getting tired of Haru being considered a great gamer, then try out this little gem. Sora and Shiro get thrown into all sorts of games and always show what it means to be a badass gamer. Similar to Haru, they are both outcasts, but they are definitely not losers. Their games are in my opinion, much more satisfying.
- Great story
- Its about a virtual game world
- Both main characters get introduced to a new world, and hate the real world.
- Both characters have great goals in mind, which makes the anime interesting.
all good people already write good comparative thing so i will just say for me there is no doubt that you will really like or be more become a big fan of no game no life because for me i put it in the top 10 of my animelist i most loved to see first time and most liked the first time i watched it that all i hope u like like watch it too
A rather odd recommendation due to major differences in genre, but also maturity in content, there is a certain appeal regarding the characters which both series share. The characters aren't cardboard cut-outs of each other though, not in the slightest, nor are the plots. More of, same feel, but something majorly different, if viewers of one might give the other a chance.
Same guys who are losers in the real world found themselves in a game in which they are the masters.
Same situation where guy meets hot babe in the game.
Same situation where alliances will be formed.
In one anime the game is a life or death situation, while the other has more to do with reaching the level 10.......or at least that's what it was suppose to be.
The art in one anime is too flashy, while the other is too practical.
The main guy in one anime is 22 year old NEET, while the main guy in the other anime is 14 year old overweight middle schooler.
The main chick in one anime is tall but flat chested, in the other anime the chick is one bodacious hottie.
The guy in one anime has a sotcon relationship with the girl....since the girl is a year ahead of the guy, while in the other anime it is a bit of a lolicon since the girls is still a minor.
-Both are surprisingly violent for their childish concept
-Both have main characters that, despite being outcasts in the real world, are very useful when they are forced to use their knowledge of the video game they play
-Teams are formed within the players of this game, to help defeat a common enemy
-The main character meets a girl that he knew before he was transported to the new world/island
How to best explain the similarity? Dark times in a world where the characters play a game, forfeiting effectively something important in the process, yet they seek to find their humanity. The world outside of the game is light and airy, yet the wishes - the question of whether they are worth it and the price one pays crops up.
Both anime feature battles that take place in an "alternate reality" that only a select few know about.
People are required to partake and win battles for prizes and to "stay in the game".
If you end up "out of the game" due to losses, you lose all memories related to the game.
Within both anime, feature the main character being thrown into battle before knowing what's going on, and people who try to abuse that early on in the story.
Selector is a darker and more psychological type of story, whereas Accel World is more of a hero fighting and becoming stronger.
Characters are introduced to a game that aims to reach the ultimate reward of unknowns, but if they lose during the game they lose all knowledge of the game and can't reenter.
Only difference is that WIXOSS is a card game while AW is MMORPG.
The main setting for both Anime is a school. There are interactive avatars, more prevalent in one Anime then in the other. The main character is looked down upon in the real world because they happen to not have any ability that allows them to succeed in the real world, but once they get to the "game" they end up being important in some regard.
In a nutshell, both Baka to Test and Accel World shares a few similarities:
In both series, there is the theme of fantasy action that involves action in another setting/world. While AW takes on a more serious approach, both series presents fantastical action.
Both series main male protagonist are young boys who has a female protagonist interested in them. And of course, he has friends that supports and help him in various circumstances.
Both series has a lot of comedy, gags, and fan-service in the form of beach episodes, dates, etc.
Sometimes we got to battle it out in order to meet our expectations. The main characters in the series, used some fantasy technology, where they used this to meet their goals. They battle it out, and mostly reach at the top as their motives for completion. Competition is the central plot throughout the whole series and somewhat romance in here.
Baka and test is mostly a school comedy, where they summon real life chibi avatars to fight off opponents. Accel World features a heavy sci-fi computer interface, where they used a Virtual Reality Multiplayer Game, to fight off opponents.
Gaming worlds with fun rules and creative concepts. '.hack//Sign' brings you a game where characters best each other for personal gain or other benefits. 'Accel World' puts effort into both the character development and exciting match modes for extra flavour. Friendship is an integral part of the series where nothing is impossible if you work as a team.
Hack and Accel world are quite alike with using the game concept, whilt in Hack the character is trapped and accel world it is optional to join and leave they both have their playing cards.
In accel world you are bound by loosing your points in which when happens you loose the application and the ability to play the game, all memory of it and can never install it again so your still grasped around the neck carefully.
Hack is about someone trapped in a game who cannot log off, essentially trapped like in a cage as he searches for a way to leave the world.
I admit im not into the game genre so i have issues finding much to say about either but these two felt quite a like to me and also are one of the only series i found tolerable in this genre so as a outsider to the genre i think they are both worth giving a shot if you like the genre and enjoyed one or the other. read more
QFT what the previous recommendation writer said. Feel free to hate on the protagonist of Accel World at the beginning for his pathetic attitude & look down on Ikki (Air Gear main protagonist) for his lackluster attitude at the beginning. However, they both will grow and expect their character development from ep 1 to the final ep.
Both series are strong.
Talk about gaming to the extreme; one being a physical contact type of gaming while the other involves extreme video gaming. The characters are varied personality wise in both anime and yet still manage to have personalities that are also out there.
Air Gear and Accel World: the same story set in alternate universes. Okay, not really... but it seems that way when you take a moment to think about it. Even from episode 1, the two start the same: an aimless teen boy discovers a world of competitive sports he didn't know existed -- thanks to a special technological device and a girl of interest in each case.
The theme of both series is the battle to be the best despite having started from nothing only days or weeks earlier. Whether it's Air Gear's 5-person team battles of Trophaeum or the 1-on-1 battle arena of Accel World's Brain Burst, will our young heroes be able to quickly master their newly acquired skills to turn the tide in their favor? Or will they be swallowed whole by those who are bigger, stronger, more experienced, and equipped with better equipment? It's anime -- you know the answer to that! read more
Accel World and Air Gear are action packed anime that feature protagonists that stumble upon a different "world" that they have little knowledge of. They start from nothing and progress beyond their initial limitations by using armor/rollerblades, while discoverring societies made up of legions/teams that they end up fighting in for territory as the shows progress. Both series offer superb and fluid animation while each of them keeps its own unique flavor. If you liked watching one of them you shouldn't hesitate to try out the other.
The "other world" is a dark Gothic place filled with only a few places of light and bright colors. The "avatars" are other selves representing what one wants to throw away based on their human desires and scars. There is also a lot of action and the characters are in themselves interesting.
'Black★Rock Shooter' shows a another world which signify one's self or conscious in the real life. Meanings and art are sharply portrayed in the struggles of the ones involved. 'Accel World' shows us the struggle from a different person's perspective where the other world is the salvation and the strongest deserves to rule.
For some reason, I find both of these series similar in the aspect that the main characters fights in another "world". Their avatars and selves reflect on the embodiment of their image in this other world fighting for reasons.
The art styles of both Anime contain Gothic elements. The story lines are dark. The main characters are nobodies. Technology is in some manner involved. A game is involved that could leave one completely out of the game for good. Things slowly get revealed over time. They also have interesting casts of characters.
Both male protagonists get caught up in a game challenging other player, as well as female characters leading them along the journey. The protagonists have a goal to find out their identities, and defeat the other players to win the game. However Mirai Nikki is more violent and gory since players are killed when defeated, while Accel World is just action.
On one hand you have an insane yandere, and on the other hand you have a deredere.
Look past the basic cast and setting and you'll see many similarities between the show.
Weak main character with a strong heroine and useful friends.
Battle royale - kill or be killed, kill everyone else to achieve limitless power.
While their world settings are different, both Accel World and Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai (Unbreakable Machine-Doll) involves with technology that contain main mysteries.
Both series' main female protagonist are capable of fighting in their perspective worlds and also seems to have an affection towards their partner/friend. There is drama, comedy, and romance involved although the responses the main protagonist delivers to their female friend/companion greatly contrasts with each other.
Both series also takes place at a school life setting where students learn more than just general academics.
Both involves the characters getting in to the game.
Both involves a 4 people protagonist.
One is more of First Person RPG, while the other is sort of a MMORPG.
In one anime the character can get out of the game either voluntary or if he/she got beaten in the game, while in the other anime the character is trapped in the game.
The female lead in one anime is an 8 year old kid, while the female lead in the other anime is a year older than the MC.
Both series features a fantasy world where the main character ventures into with other people. In that world, there are things that does not exist in the real world.
Both series has drama, comedy, and action (more so in AW).
Both series' main male protagonist often gets caught up into trouble with others.
The "worlds" in both Anime share similar elements to them despite having different concepts. There is also the element of getting to come home and becoming a better person by fighting in these worlds to survive and the characters grow in maturity over time.
The concept of becoming a digital form of a new being/avatar is a presented theme in both series as the main characters are able to venture into another world through technology.
From both series, the setting takes place in a digital like realm where fiction crosses over with reality. Make no mistake as the threat of pain in this other world is real and there are consequences for making the wrong choices.
Both series adapts science fiction themes and the main male protagonists are determined to achieve their ambitions.
Both series also have drama, comedy, and a small cast of characters involved in this other world.
.hack is one of the forerunners to the virtual reality genre, but in particular, this short .hack series and Accel World focus on main characters who are misfits of sorts even within the gaming world, yet who end up becoming heroes.
.Hack//Quantum and Accel World are both "game based" animes. They have both a really good story and very nice character design. The animation are similar, they look both pretty good. If one is looking for a good anime, a good story and some nice animations, I would recommend anyone to check out both of these animes.
These sci-fi anime are about massively popular (VR)MMOs and a main character meeting a very mysterious player, eventually having his/her life turned upside down as a result of meeting/becoming friends with said person. Another trait they have in common is focusing on both the game and the problems of the real world directly caused by either "The World" MMO or the Accel World.
Both main characters have been bullied by the world and have friends to save them when they are in trouble. The friends are really nice, but the main character sees it as pity and gets upset with them. In both anime the main character goes from weak to strong and encounters a beautiful woman as well in the process.
Both the main characters are being bullied and then something happens that changes everything. Both these anime also have kind of the same childhood friends. The main character (keeps being bullied), Cool guy (the guy that others like), and the girl (cute).
Here is another similarity but it's somewhat of a spoiler. Continue reading at your own risk.
In both anime the cool friend likes the cute childhood friend and the cute childhood friend like the main character. Also the main character likes the girl that has given them their new lives.
These stories involve the main characters having online avatars that are used online, only to find themselves negativly effected in the real world by what goes on in these worlds. The themes are also very dark.
Advancement of human technology is awesome, especially when it involve virtual world.
Both series deals with protagonist that have problem on virtual world and how that affect their real life and handling it s serious business. The difference is that Baldr Force EXE Resolution deal it more seriously with virtual mecha while Accel World deal them with kamen rider equivalent virtual avatar
The stories revolve around a game that takes on a bigger meaning then just being a game. Real world friendships are formed and in the long run goals are formed as well. They also deal with digital worlds and getting away from reality, not to mention having abilities that can actually effect the real world in a positive or negative manner.
Similarity drawn in that both series revolve around fighting in a digital world. Accel World has inklings of romance while Digimon Tamers vaguely hints this. However, both series offer plenty of action.
Though these two Sunrise series have greatly different settings, there are many surprisingly recurrent themes:
A physically weak male lead who gains the power to create their ideal world.
A contract with a mysterious girl with a potential hidden agenda.
Strong production values and intelligent action.
Most importantly of all, high entertainment value!
Rag tag group of friends try to solve problems in another world, but things which appear lighthearted end up not being so. Both the main protagonists end up building up their team of friends over a period of time - but beyond that, snap - spoiler alert.
Both series revolves around the protagonist jumping into another world. Also, avatars are present in both series that involves action and drama. Accel World seems to lean a bit on the romance/action side while Persona 4 contains the mystery theme.
Both have a futuristic "Twenty minutes into the future" style setting that is mainly focused around a interconnected cybernetic world that at first appears to be a video game; but is later shown to be something else that has far more dangerous consequences and potential for abuse in the real world. Both shows also focus on the protagonist's circle of friends as equally as it focuses on him.
Both anime contains sci-fi themes involving the virtual world as well as elements of comedy, action, and romance.
Both anime presents a game like setting where avatars are present inside and involved in conflicts. Additionally, the main protagonist forms a bond with the female protagonist.
Also, there is a mysterious atmosphere like feeling that goes beyond the walls of the virtual world and the real world.
They both deal with an "online" community. However, Accel World is darker in nature and more of a "game" while Summer Wars is a bit more cheerful and more of a provider for different life needs... gps, shopping, etc.
On the net there is another world, a world that people can dive into. What seems to be a game isn't one like the main characters think and their lives end up being turned upside down. The suspense also builds up.
Both series contain sci-fi themes in another parallel world that draws away from reality involving the digital realm
Both series contain a lot of action as well as drama as well and characters of stark personalities.
Both protagonists are in a way hapless? Hapless means not helpless, but simply unfortunate in their luck. The amount of unfortunate each experiences also ends up balanced out by another character who stands by their side. The journey each go through also isn't straight forward either.
> They both have generous doses of action and humour.
> They both have interesting variety in action.
> They both have elements of typical school anime.
> The plot settings slightly differ. Accel World is set in a school/VR MMORPG background and Toaru Majutsu no Index in a super-power loaded city.
> The main characters of the anime differ in their styles of thinking.
In short, they are similar enough for you to enjoy both and distinct enough for you to not find one to be a rehash of the other.
The world that the characters resides is not only competitive but dangerous.
In both series, there is action created by a game-like scenario where the characters gets involved in. Winning is a key factor to ensure bragging rights and survival. However, the adversaries the characters faces in both series often brings forth new challenges to test their skills and abilities.
In both series, the characters' age range are also similar but more so are their determination to win/survive in the world that they reside in such a game-like scenario.
A young boy unpopular at school gets chosen by an incredibly sexy girl attracted to him into joining her specific clan and proving his skills as part of her party as they grow stronger and stronger and recruit more members fighting against other clans and dickish villains. The difference is that in Accel World everything is about a video game, whereas Highschool DxD is about a world of Devils, Angels and Fallen Angels. There's also lighter T&A in Accel World than DxD but it still exists
Casshern Sins and Accel world have both characteristics of humans, robots, and fighting. Yet both are completely different in story. Both have robots and fighting in another world-like place, yet Casshern Sins is more of the futuristic apocalyptic type, Accel World is more of the futuristic happy ending type . Accel World has more chicks while Casshern sins is sad and lonely. Either way both animes made me anticipated to see the next episode leaving me wanting more.
Both main characters have low self confidence in the beginning. They each have a female to accompany them. You a fan of characters with low self confidence and are weak ( in the beginning) then these are for you. Besides main characters they are completely different.
Accel World and Overlord are the same genres.
Just like Accel World x SAO/ Hack etc.
- Both anime focus inside of a mmo rpg game, world.
- Both have strong MC's
- Both are after something.
Both series are fun and keep you on the sit to watch.
In Accel world the "Burst Linkers" get the various abilities that give them advantages in everyday life but have to compete to keep them. In Accel world the penalty is losing the game while in Gantz it's death.
In Gantz the stakes are higher but the same idea as the people live their everyday lives and are teleported to an area to play a "game". In Gantz the incentives are weapons and a superhuman suit but in Gantz they are trying their best to get out of the game.
They are very much alike so if ya liked one check out the other.
Both of the animes are incredibly similar to reality to some degree. Both of the main characters in these series are losers one a NEET and the other a fat chubby kit in middle school who gets bullied a lot. Though the part I find unrealistic is the fact that a beautiful girl would pursue these men. They both have an alternative reality to turn to in accel world the video game and in welcome to the nhk Satou has his apartment.
Would make this a top priority as I absolutely loved both of these series!
Both are action-packed romances in which the male lead swears to protect and serve the female main character. Both female leads are incredibly powerful but often lose control of themselves and it is their respective love interests who keep them in line.
When it come to SAO II and Accel Word -
-Both are created by the same person!!
-Both exist in the same world.
-Both have virtual reality games.
-Both have a system where they can dive into the online network.
-Both enter voluntarily.
-Both have the same genre that is - action, adventure, roman and shounen.
- And Accel world is 20 years after SAO II and Accel world has tons of references to SAO II!!
Both definitely worth your time to watch!! >.<
Both protagonists face obstacles and depression that hinders them from their happiness and goals. They also have people who help them realize that they can achieve their goals. However, Accel World has way more action and fight scenes and Shitgatsu wa Kimi no Uso has way more emotional impacts.
the same plot where it involves a MC whose life is full of shit, and an opportunity that has arrived in a cyberworld that given them a chance to be somebody. The differences, in Accel World, the plot was more of a sci-fi and cyberpunk, while Mahou Shoujo site has that dark magical girl theme in it.
If you enjoyed the action in Accel World
The female fighters in Claymore
The plot of Evangelion
The weapons of Guilty Crown and Infinite Stratos
And a bit of harem
Freezing combines all of those into one new anime
This anime is what most moved me, who loves and is anime fan is obligated to attend.
Put only one, but all animes of my list are great, there are those who even declined in its other seasons but may assist yes, you will not regret it.
I add skyp andresjuchem, face andres Juchem. some games lol wow dragspeed DragSpeed Smite DragSpeed. Thank you so much.
Both anime tell story about The adventure in Virtual World MMORPG
+ MC lack confidence against itself
+ From friends become lover
+ In some fight scene, MC fighting in group not alone
+ Half of the story about MC learn about leveling his/her avatar
+ Gender Bender (//hack)
+ Harem (Accel World)
+ Action-Adventure anime set in Virtual MMORPG
+ In webdiver player using mecha unit to fight enemy
+ In accel world player avatar is equipment with armor-like mecha to fight other player
- Have transformation scene
- MC fighting using unique armor
- MC is school student
- Accel World set in Virtual world / Symphogear set in real world
- In Accel World MC not require specific item to access his skill / In Symphogear MC must singing a song to activate his ability
In both Angel Beats & Accel World the main character is put into another world either by force or by owns free will for a reason.
-Both include alternate world where you fight for survival.
-The male MC in both "Accel World" & "Angel Beats" follows a female leader.
-In Both animes the life is said to be "Unfair".
-The MC in both series helps the other cast members overcome certain problems they face and to move on.
We have both protagonist who are generic losers who had their precious big metal thing lost and they are sad without it. Now they try their hardest to get back their precious big metal thingy.
The male protagonist is also very similar to female loli protagonist in Lance N' Masques. They're short, kawaii ~ and has nice big round faces; making them the most likable/lovable characters you'll meet in anime history.
The protagonist, who is far too kind (kinda negative), teams up with someone strong to defeat enemies. Both are male and have a popular female fellow student as a partner who teaches him new things.
Accel World and the Holy Grail War are both settings in which the main characters have to fight and win to gain something.
Games that people can play. The virtual world and the real world are mixing together. The technology of the neuro linker allows people to play an online game- Brain Burst. Which takes place in a virtual realty. Here they compete with one another.
One Piece is the ultimate adventure story whereas Accel World isn't as bold or ambitious with the scope of its world, it does successfully characterize adventure and villains nicely. With regards to style and plot line not much is the same. Although accel world does have similar humor, a funny main character, and is largely about the bonds of friendship overcoming hardships. Accel world develops its characters adequately within a timely manner but always leaves a question about their past to be answered at a later date so that you can be kept questioning, similar to certain situations in One Piece anime and manga.
The game's adventures of Accel World, are similar to the Akame ga Kill!'s battles. The shows provide several epic fights, with many cool powers and twists. too. The main girl is almost the same, and the group of heroes has to struggle against many various enemies.
Matrix style series and a whole new world on the other side. 'Zegapain' isn't solid in terms of storyline but you are able to connect with a few of the characters and in the beginning, it's pretty much hack and slash in mechs but halfway through the series, more plots will be revealed and the enjoyment would pick up from there.
'Accel World' deviates almost entirely from 'Zegapain' concept except for the fact that the characters are able to go to another world. Romances and battles are what makes this series very delightful to watch. Sure people who dislike the MC at first due to his looks (not a lot of series have MC like this) but just be open-minded and the series should sink into your head in no time. read more
The style is in a modern Gothic where a lot of shadows are used in contrast to bright colors. The cast of characters are wide ranged and there is a mystery that they are forced to solve. A school setting is involved but the characters do go other places.
In both of these series has a character that has a personality which allows them to interact with freely with people without worry. There is also the element of "doing without" which I won't go into more detail lest I give spoilers for either series.
The main character happens to be in a relationship with his senpai that helps him to grow up. The story is dark and both characters have to deal with childhood friendships that have problems to the relationships.
The stories feature an alternate reality that is reached via means of sci-fi. They go two different routes story line wise, but the main characters have similar personalities. There is also the good fight to be something more then the "loser".
What does medieval-themed anime has in common with futuristic teenage show? The answer is simple: quality of art. Animation and music fits so well with the proposed setting that you will believe you actually traveled through time, be it forward or backwards.
Dealing with virtual crisis and reality is never easy.
In both of these series, the protagonist deals with 2D and 3D issues that arises in their life. Well, more or less.
There is romance, comedy, and action in both series as well as emotional drama. Supernatural elements also exists in both series.
There's a similar vibe between these two anime stories where the male character meets a beautiful female, and join a mutual partnership. Furthermore the male characters help and are guided by the female into creating a new world.
The concept of fighting in other worlds is similar, with just a small difference. Characters "Wave in" or "Burst Link" themselves to a world that mirrors the real world, while being something completely different that masks their identities while in the other world.
Not only is there a similar world concept, but fighting each other is present as well as gaining unique abilities from battling experience or even from each other.
+Both have Sci-Fi, Shounen ,School.
+Both have Main character design different from others .
+Both main characters have cute girls around them.
+Both Anime have advance technology.
+Both anime have similar feeling while watching them.
in both the main character is at first weak and then gain a "sacred" or rare power in accel world its his wings and in maken ki its his uncontrollable power.
next their patrons both are girls who are widely known and are very powerful, in both animes the girls are in love with the main character.
