High School DxD is based on the light novels written by Ichiei Ishibumi and illustrated by Miyama-Zero. It stands out from the other ecchi harems that I have seen in sense that the first season cannot really be considered a harem but rather Issei going after the female love interest Rias Gremory. Some of the other female characters do show interest such as Asia when Issei becomes more intimate with the other girls. But the real harem aspects of High School DxD show up in the second season. If you are a fan of the ecchi genre you will be pleased to hear that DxD has plenty of perverted panty shots and uncensored boobs. I went into it not knowing what to expect, and surprisingly it has exceeded the relatively low expectations I had for it.
High School DxD falls into the "it's good for what it is" category and does not try to be something it is not. This is why it should be viewed as first and foremost a fan service show. With some laugh out loud moments, senseless antics and occasional dramatic tones in the overarching plot. This is what makes it stand out from most other ecchi’s that resort to covering an unintelligible story with lots of fan service. High School DxD has an actual story and distinctive character development. With the fan service aside the show actually does have its merits. I particularly like the art style, decent visuals, and the music score.
High School DxD gives you a lot of variety in the female characters as well as the situations they get undressed. The girls of the Occult Research Club range from Koneko, a very petite and small breasted girl who displays a lack of emotion and seems rather unaffected by everything. To Akeno who is busty and seems to take some enjoyment from Issei’s antics. As well as the voluptuous Rias with Asia more on the petite side. All of the female characters are sexy and attractive in different ways.
High School DxD is all about mindless fun with a respectable amount of T&A. Evaluate it as a fan service focused series; it delivers on what it is, an ecchi harem comedy with an angels versus devils versus fallen angles aspect (This can get pretty confusing and doesn't make sense at times). It is a little better than average and one of the top recent series in its genre. Don’t go into watching this with the wrong mentality expecting it to be something it is not. You will be disappointed, watch it for what it is and you may find enough enjoyment to keep watching. I would recommend it to anyone new to ecchi and if this sounds interesting to anyone they should definitely check it out.
High School DxD is an anime that has been praised as the best ecchi ever made, and in a way that is accurate. Seriously though, it is an ecchi. For all of you ecchi haters, stay away. Shove down your masochistic tendencies and walk away, this is not an anime you are going to enjoy.
We all know what we are getting into when we turn this show on, copious amounts of T&A. High School DxD has quickly become synonymous with that phrase. But even then, that was not the sole reason I turned this show on. I generally am the type that needs a bit more than titillating imagery to watch something. So when I heard that DxD also had this really cool story to accompany it, I was sold. Allow me to inform you that I can in good conscience say I feel betrayed...
Before going into the specifics of the story that follows the characters, let me say that the overall concept of this world is what truly piqued my interest in the show. A three way war between Devils, Angels, and Fallen Angels. An expansive world with history behind it. Varying degrees of mythology from different countries. Sadly, these aspects are quickly overshadowed by the story surrounding the main character.
High School setting? Expected. It's in the bloody title. But what I wasn't expecting was a poor story about a servant and his literal power-ups. The story wants to be serious, but fails miserably at it. The so called "emotional" moments had me rolling my eyes, and the dialogue left me stunned from how many cliche Shounen lines it had.
I am attempting to avoid spoilers, which is why I am avoiding the specifics that made this story as bad as it was. Just know this, it is a cool concept that loses points due to the execution.
It was good and filled to the brim with boobs and panty-shots. I don't know what else I can really say. It was nothing spectacular, but is by no means un-watchable. Standard fare for when it was released.
The OST was pretty solid. The music did a surprisingly good job of adding to the scenes.
The standout aspect of the sound for me was actually the voice acting. I watched the show dubbed, but I have seen enough of the subbed to know that both are good. But in my opinion, watch the show dubbed. The voices may actually be more fitting in the subbed, personal preference really. But the dub has dialogue that adds to the hilarity of the scenes exponentially. When the MC can "promise not to drain his pimp-juice", it's a damn fine dub.
Issei- An extremely typical pervert. I really, really disliked Issei. He is literally an idiot, and every single one of his thoughts revolves around something lewd. Of course he is also a decent guy with a heart of gold, but hey, that's just par for the course. He is established early on as a good hearted pervert, and he remains a good hearted pervert until the end. He does gain a bit of development, but it really is just a bit.
Rias Gremory- Here we have the gorgeous, devil senpai you read about in the description. A surprisingly decent character. She is strong willed, honest, and oddly compassionate. Peculiar for a devil, but this show does break the occasional trope. What I liked about her character was how she took everything for what it was. Fully acknowledging and accepting Issei's perversion, and using it as a motivation. She doesn't care what other people think, and does as she wishes.
Asia- Rarely have I found a more stereotypical "nice girl". She is incredibly sweet to everyone, a bit naive and innocent, and completely incapable of defending herself. Did I mention she's a nun that falls for the main character instantly. I didn't dislike Asia, but I found it hard to like her as she hardly felt like a character. She was immediately filed into my brain as a ball of cliches, and I felt nothing for her because of that.
The notable side characters are Akeno, Kiba, and Koneko. The busty sadist with a kind exterior, the respectful pretty boy, and the expressionless loli with a love for sweets, respectively. I was a big fan of these characters, and really wanted to see more of them.
There are a few things to enjoy about this anime, maybe you enjoy the comedy, the action, or the titillating imagery. For me, the comedy was hit or miss. Some jokes I loved, others I hated. The ones I hated usually pertained to Issei's perversion, it is such an overused concept that I don't even crack a smile. The comedy I loved was mostly in regards to the dialogue, definitely my favorite part.
I really liked the action. Especially in the later episodes, I felt genuinely invested in what was happening. The action was accompanied by serious tones without being emotional tones, and they were pretty well done.
The massive amounts of fan-service in this show really didn't do much on the enjoyment factor either. It doesn't lose any points, but boobs and panty-shots alone don't do anything. I suppose if you pause during one of Issei's fantasies you could pitch a tent, but it didn't do much.
By that score alone, you may think it isn't worth watching. A passable story with some decent characters and good dialogue, seems like it isn't worth your time. But for all of you ecchi fans, and for those who can at least tolerate ecchi, this is worth watching. Why? Because it gets better. The first season of High School DxD really isn't that good, but the second season is good, and you can expect it to improve from there. Being knowledgeable about the original source material, many of the flaws in this anime will be fixed. The story will improve, characters will develop, it will become a good fantasy story.
One aspect of High School DxD that I applaud the creator for is his honesty in regards to fan-service. He makes the fan-service a plot point by truly involving it in the MC's drives (and later abilities). He gives the fan-service a plausible reason for existing considering the amoral nature of the devils. The author embraces fan-service, which is a unique aspect I award credit for.
High School DxD is an ecchi that develops into a good story. Anyone who tries to pass this first season off as the best ecchi ever is just lying to you. But it is worth watching just to see what comes later. read more
Oppai, man we aaaall love oppai, they're round, good lookin, have a nipple in the middle. Man, but what about big oppai? Maybe oppai every single episode? Welp you got it! And thats Highschool DxD for ya, oppai or in english term, tits,boobs,melons,bozangas,milk-makers, I COULD GO ON ALL DAY. This show is a pretty weird example of fanservice, you got it everywhere! Hell some episodes nearly feel like filler episodes till the end of the episodes that continue the story. I came out of this show with no pants and a wet dick, but for now lets get to the review. Shall we?
So we start off with Issei, a typical pervert who peeks on girls with his pals at high-school. One day he meets this girl and goes out on a date with her, and well Issei gets killed by this bi- I mean girl and she turns out to be a, "fallen angel" DUN DUN DUUUUUN! So in Issei's final seconds he thinks about a girl called Rias who he saw earlier ago, and he ends up summoning her cause she's a demon! DUN DUUUUUUUUN. And this is where our adventure begins. This story goes on till episode 6 with filler, fanservice and the plot is kind of messy at times and hell at times I was wondering, "Am I watching anime, or softcore hentai?" Theres many oppais and a lot of shit going on, you just get confused. One moment Issei progesses the story by learning something another second he's being a pervert and theres oppais everywhere.
Theres not much to say about the art, it dosen't look half bad, the colours look nice, the animation is smooth. Overall its ok, not much to say but it fits the show. A little more detail can be put in but its ok, overall.
For a show filled with fanservice, the music is really well done! The opening is a very nice and calm tune showing you what to expect in this show. The ending is this great and upbeat tune kind of like you're watching a play and you're about to leave and they put this Up beat song, this is probably what it would be. Songs go from slow and beautiful tones to Epic and Mighty tunes pumping up your heart! The sound quality is overall well done and good as hell.
There are 3 main characters that we are focused on. First you got Issei, typical pervert, At times I like Issei at times I hate him, he usually does everything wrong that just makes me wanna kick his ass until he realizes he's an idiot. At times he could actually be pretty humurous and make some ol'jokes. Then you got Rias, she's a pretty good character, she usually does whats best for Issei and sure she only changes a bit in the end of the series but you just can't help but like her. Then you got Asia, your cliched character who falls in love with the MC, will get jealous if someone trys to do anything romantic with him and the usual cliches. Her backstory is pretty explainable itself but she's too generic. The character developements aren't really strong and feel meh, like they aren't trying.
Without the humor, fanservice, filler and oppai this show would be pretty boring, so I give props for that stuff being there, overall this show will hook you from the start and you'll probably watch it till the end.
This show is enjoyable and pretty good overall. I have no problem with fanservice so I was able to watch this at ease. If you have a problem with fanservice or overall hate it. Stay from this show like its poop. If not you'll easily enjoy this show, if you go through this show without fapping once, you're tough enough to be in the weenies club. Cause theres a LOT of fappable content, so make sure you have some lotion ready before watching this. read more
Surprisingly, despite this being labeled as "harem," this show didn't feel much like harem to me. Really strange. In fact, Sword Art Online felt even more of a harem than this, but ok. Issei only had like one real love interest, and that was Rias. Maybe it's the perspective of socially awkward people who think that if a girl talks to a guy, that means that the girl is in love with the guy that makes them think this is a harem. So I guess harem now means having a bunch of female characters and having one relevant male character in a same show. Oh, and I guess the main character constantly went on about how he likes harem or something. But I'm pretty sure that doesn't qualify a show as harem either.
Let's discuss about the characters in this show.
Obviously one of the most important factors in these shows is the main protagonist. Everything centers around them, after all. Harem genre in general, unfortunately, does not have much variety in what main characters they could have. Very rarely you have protagonists like Keima, who is on a class of his own, or Shidou, who somehow happens to be likeable despite being somewhat generic at the same time. And then you have Issei. This protagonist just happens to be one of the obnoxious protagonists you could have in a show, harem or not. Did you ever watch other shows and saw that silly "perverted guy" who always hangs out near the main character and only exists as a brief comic relief? Yeah, that guy is a main protagonist now. Hope you liked those brief comic reliefs, because that's definitely not going to get old after an entire cour.
If that wasn't bad enough, he's also "that" guy who happens to have one of the most powerful McGuffins in the series, which makes him suddenly important. Normally this wouldn't be too offensive since it's done by literally every other show, where the protagonist happens to have that special trait that gives him unfair advantage no matter what, but the way this show handles it is just terrible.
You see, the side characters that Rias has under her are supposed to represent what Issei lacks- Outside of them being awfully shallow as characters and merely existing to pander to specific parts of the audience as overdone archetypical tools (sadist woman, silent loli, cool guy, kawaii-uguu girl), they are supposed to exist to make Issei feel comparatively inferior. In fact, in the last episode, Issei talks about how he lacks the strength, healing ability, magical ability, or swordfighting while fighting the obligatory final boss of the season- Does this all matter? No. He has the most powerful weapon (or SACRED GEAR, if you'd prefer) shown in the series so far, so why is this relevant? What was the point of making him seem "inferior" to others when all he has to do is do the typical resolve speech and it will make him just instantly more powerful than everyone else?
Let's put that in this context and see if that sounds any less ridiculous:
"I may not have a bamboo stick, boxing gloves, or a first-aid kit, but I have a rifle that I can shoot you with."
I liked that chess analogy that the show kept bringing it up, though. It's almost like it's just there for the sake of being pretentious. And it is.
As for Rias, she's just bland as any other character in this show. She even goes on a speech about how she wants to be seen as Rias/herself and not be carried by her family name and nobility- Huh, that sounds awfully familiar. Oh, that's right- That's every Disney princess speech about how they're so perfect that it's bad :( Poor Rias Gremory. I could almost feel for her in that part. I was squeezing out my tears during that scene so much, except that they were red for some reason. Strange indeed. Outside of that, she falls in love with Issei because he's the main character and also because her fiancee conveniently happens to be a pretty rude guy. Oh, shit. That's another Disney princess plot. What a shock. While I'm not looking for super originality here, it's pretty bad if you're ripping off the fucking Disney routine.
Of course, it doesn't help considering the second half of the show involves this Disney princess fiasco while the first half involves this "I'm not evil" girl suddenly calls Issei out on a date only to show her true colors in the same episode. That wasn't much of a twist. While this just being a one-shot for an episode could've been forgivable, Issei goes on later about how he truly cared about this girl he met for less than a day and how he's sad to realize that she was evil all along. Am I supposed to feel sad here? Not to mention that Issei meets this OTHER random girl (who he also met for less than a day) later on who gets captured by the aforementioned evil girl, and experiences horrible Disney death on a techno-cross. Good thing Rias can resurrect dead people, so it didn't matter in the end. The fun part is that there was supposed to be this time limit about saving her before it was too late, but that turned out to be totally irrelevant too. Trivialize an already inconsequential death of a girl that the MC has met for less than 24 hours. Great way to invoke emotions there.
As for the other elements of the show:
The music is pretty generic, but fine overall- The animation is really nothing to write home about. It's just your average 2012 anime show level, though if I had to point out a flaw, it would be that the character designs were just really generic. If you can't give your characters any depth, at least make them look interesting.
Overall, the show is bad. Shallow characters, annoying main character, irrelevant consequences (including how the MC "sacrificed" his arm for a power up, which was completely inconsequential), lack of an actual antagonist with an actual motive, and just overall being boring. It's downright offensive. Seriously, this show had like 3-4 filler episodes, so I don't see why it wasn't possible to stretch the plot a bit to at least make it seem more relevant/effective/or interesting. It's not like there wasn't enough fanservice either, so it's really hard to understand what was going on inside the minds of the staff.
Frankly, for the longest time, I've been wondering why these harem shows were mostly awful. Maybe it's the overwhelming amount of pandering shoved into my face that is causing me to not enjoy these shows very much. Maybe. Or maybe they're just fucking terrible. Either way, I tried to watch this all the way through while ignoring all the pandering so that maybe I could appreciate the hidden depth within. Or the lack thereof.
It didn't turn out well after all. Let's not try that again.
And neither should you.
-Main normal guy which loves erotic things and has the special powers.
-Main girl is from underworld demon.
-No censorship on the chest and pants.
Red Hair Girl
Perverse lad meets a beautiful redhair, and thus ends up in various shenanigans with monsters and higher beings from another world, both series emphasizes heavily on fanservice.
They're both about demons and have a lot fanservice, as well as no censorship and a main female lead with red hair and perverted, but caring male protagonists, though Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai. is way better than Highschool DxD in every aspect.
same perverted guy who becomes a property of some dark entity, the only diffence is that the guy in the other anime is treated like a their kind while in the other the guy is treated like a dog.
they have very similar art and story.
Perverted protagonist and a girl, who's protecting him.
Main male characters (which look normal, though huge perverts) in both series are seemingly weak at first, but actually possess some special abilities. Main female characters are some sort of demons, and have a lot of authority throughout the series.
I Can't Do H and Highschool DxD are both ecchi and the protagonists fight to protect someone they love. Both anime involves magic and fighting a non-human.
Both have some kind of demon heroin, both heroines have red hair, both have some sort of "contract", and both have them H.
Both have the perverted main male character also both Main male characters are bound to a main female character
Well, in both series, we have the typical high school boy with perverted thoughts. He meets a heroine that has a rather similar appearance but with a mysterious background and forms a "contract" with her.
There is quite a lot of ecchi, comedy, drama, and action in both series. Both anime also contain gag and generics. Just be aware of those if you decide to watch their series from the beginning.
Both are supernatural and have their comedy and ecchi moments. The male main character is also pervert like Issei (even more perverted than he) and the female main character is also similar with Rias.
Similar in the comedy aspect and it's all good ecchi fun. It's also got a battle anime type story going on, they're made for each other.
An pervert boy and a beaultiful red-haired girl... It seems a very similar story
It's pretty like this..... a woman barge onto his life and change everything.. well same level of epicness and ecchiness.... too bad both anime is epic but the ecchiness ruins it but it's still great :)) both is a masterpiece
similar everything literally....
•both have a pervert main protagonist young boy who all he can think is erotic shit
•both have another demon like supernatural red headed woman that uses some supernatural power contract so they are always together
•both have fan service and uncensored,
•both are set placed in a school, which involved fighting with monsters/humans/some supernatural things..
•both contain some comedy if visible, ecchiness to the extreme, school, romance.
•and both i dropped half way through or earlier.
Similar magic harem ecchi shows that feature more "oppai action" than what kids are comfortable with. Nevertheless, these are a notch above the generic harem shows, with a plot that is moving forward and fantastic character designs and animation.
-Both show boobies but i would say Dakara does it more professional and real
-Both MC's are perverts
-Both somewhat die and have a relationship with the heroin
-Both take place in school
ITs about devils and people with special powers. Also they both have some ecchi scenes.
Ecchi, Oppai and a story that you can easy follow
Both the heroines of these series may not be similar in personalities, Rias is the caring type, Lisara is the "tsundere" type, but both are extremely sexy girls from the underworld. Each of them will have to deal with perversion of the main protagonist as more girls will join the group on their adventure through the series.
Perverted male protagonist + a group of girls, isnt that a perfect combination?
• Both female leads are red head.
• Both female leads are from the underworld realm.
• Both guy loves erotic things.
Both Female Main Protagonist have red hair and demonic power
Both Male Main Protagonist are pervert and have special power
And both are Losers !
In both of these anime there's one main guy character who uses his hornyness as his power. There are also a bunch of girls, and the main character gains power through one of these girls to defeat evil.
Both Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai and High School DxD got a male main character who is extremely perverted and gets power by ecchi stuff and the female main characters in both animes are demons and from the Grimoire clan. They both share a lot of stuff and at first impression they are almost identical but the story is different at the end.
In both anime, the main character is a pervert. High School DxD is about demons, while Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai. is about shinigamis, but both have similar art and ambiance.
Contains Ecchi and extremely Pervert main male. Both anime focuses on magic and special/choosen one(which of course the male prota)
Fap-able and both ended only by 1 arc(12eps)
The opening song is Trance-techno for both anime
it's just like twins anime with different maker....
Both Female Main Protagonist have red hair and demonic power
Both Male Main Protagonist are pervert and have special power
Similarity is quite big in HS DxD and Dakara Boku. The main protagonist is a regular high school boy with a hiden super power/ wepon. A magic demon girl appears who is a royal member of the underworld and somehow they 2 end together. Ecchi is strong in both but Dakara wins with more nudity.
Both are the same type of genres. Highschool dxd has a more interesting and exciting plot though
These two anime are very similar. They mix ecchi with harem and romance. They both involve demons with earth. The main guys special powers are very you could say . . . ecchi. Finally, they focus more on the battle's, but when the ecchi comes you will see some big breasts :D.
I will say only one thing... tits, tits everywhere. Ok, now lets get serious, DXD and Dakara Boku wa are similar in a lot of ways, main character is servent of a redhead demon/shinigami chick, and he is a pervert ofc. I thing DXD is better, because Dakara Boku wa gets interesting after 6th episode, but most important thing is... TITS, HOLY MOTHER OF TITS, tits everywhere ;)
both have the fan service that people watch the anime for.
both have action involved
The main lead character wants to protect the main female with all hes got. While In High School DXD the main protagnist is open about his felling for boobs , and such, the male lead in Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai is not so open.
Both characters have some sort of hidden power that makes them a lot more valuable.
DxD can be taken as a semi-harem the others is more of a....
Very similar in almost every aspect! If you liked Dakara boku wa, then you will definetly like High School DxD! good fighting scenes, good ecchi, good comedy! give it a try it won't dissapoint.
both anime are ecchi, red haired, demons.
Both are echhi anime
No censorship on the chest
Both guy love erotic things and has the SuperNatural Powers
Both girls has the same color of the hair
In both, the main character gets his powers from sexual thoughts and is surrounded by girls with special powers. Issei is a bit more badass with his powers, but is much more indecisive than Ryosuke. The lead female in each harem also have long red hair and are of royal blood.
- a beautiful red head demon who is also an heiress
- a perverted loser who happens to have a rare sacred weapon
- lots of fighting and nudity involved
Both have a red-haired female as the main heroine. They are very similar plot wise. There is action, romance and alot of juicy ecchiness. If you like one, you're almost guaranteed to like the other.
-they both set place in high school
-the male mc in both are perverted
-the female mc in both are red-headed
-they are both about demons
You've probably already seen Highschoo DxD, if you've seen Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai, but if not, you definetly should. Highschool DxD is similar to Dakara- in many ways, just the characters for example, Kaga and Issei are both perverted highschool boys, with a similar love for oppai and women in general. Lisara and Rias are also both mysterias and simple at the same time.
Overall, these two are practically hatched from the same shell.
A blood world filled with paradise where both the main characters find themselves in an irresistible position of being able to own the highest standard of a woman.
'Highschool of the Dead' highlights the struggle for survival when the apocalypse has arrived. In the midst of such danger, desires arise in the most unpredictable of situations and the thought of 'you only live once' comes into play which in turn leads a person to show his true colours.
'High School DxD' exhibits an ambitious person who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals, be it in a comedic or perverted way. Putting battles side, adding to the picture are several beautiful individuals that would be able to tickle one's sense in the greatest of manners.
If you liked Highschool DxD, then you will like Highschool of the Dead too. Action, Ecchi, Supernatural are some genres in both anime. Cute girls with powers or guns —perfect !
The main characters are similar (a shy girl, the most powerful girl, a smart girl, and a guy...) A harem for the eyes ! ;)
In both shows, the story is good, there are good fights, pretty girls and ecchi.
Both have the "supernatural" aspect, some of the girls are into the protagonist, and of course both have a little bit of ecchi.
Both has same amount of fan service , actions, interesting story lines
Lots of ecchi, some fights, good quality and too much awesomeness all over the anime
hot girls, lots of fanservice, fighting and good story
Oppai, oppai, and then more oppai. These series have redefined the term "fan-service", using some of the most entertaining ways to show off boobs. Must-watch for aspiring gentleman (ecchi-lover).
the horrors of the supernatural and a also some good laughs...
Both shows have a great deal of half naked girls with a weapons, action and humor. What's not to like. So if you enjoyed Highschool DxD, there is no doubt that you'll like HOTD.
Both are about how a guy is suddenly thrown into a life threatening situation where they have no control over. Both are ecchi/action and a little bit of harem type animes.Highschool DxD has more of a demon/action theme to it where as Highschool of the Dead is more of a horror/action.
Highschool of the dead reminded me of Highschool DXD. The main characters are really similar. They series are really good, with a good plot. Either way, both series are a must watch ^.^
-Both focus a lot on action and ecchi.
-Both about monsters. (HOTD has zombies, while DXD has demons, etc)
-Both have 4-5 females, and 2 males as the main characters. Basically what I'm trying to say here, is that in both series there's a group of breasts fighting, while their clothes slowly rips apart, along with 2 other male main characters.
-Both have either weapons/powers.
-Both have lots of blood.
Did I say ecchi? Well imma say it again xD. Both series contains a lot of ecchi~!
It has the same genres, the same harem girl types, and the same need for more, though in DxD's case, it has received a 2nd Season and the 3rd will probably be released Late 2014 or Early 2015
Both have a same genre Harem,Ecchi and action
Both have strong bad ass characters
Both have a friend that needs to be protected
- Both have a 'highschool' and paranormal settings.
- MC in both series is easily like-able.
- Both follow a fan service/ecchi theme.
I watched High school DxD before HOTD and was hesitant to watch Highschool of the Dead because I ignorantly decided that it was probably going to be dull and no real plot however, I pulled myself to watch it and it was honestly surprising how there were elements which evoked emotion and not just in an erotic way... Definitely a must watch.
Both have some good ecchi towards the females, they both have some good action scence and thrilling finale. These 2 are must watch anime!!!
It both has the action in it and the harem. I guess thats important to some and the art are both about the same. I guess this 2 will be the absolute pair if its asking for similar recommendation.
What the 2 have in common:
It involves a Red Head demon who is in a relationship with a guy, both animes share almost the same genre, except the plot where in HSDxD the Red Head is the master, while in SMnT the Red Head is the slave due to some set backs.
At first, the premise of these shows might be a bit hard to swallow: hot demon chick meets boy, boy staves off evil, rescues the girl, and somehow collects a harem of girls in his abode in the process. The female leads of DxD and Shinmai Maou are in need of great support due to various circumstances, but Issei and Basara are able to take on these massive undertakings and come through for Rias and Mio.
DxD and Shinmai Maou have a lot to offer once you strip off their outer layers. What is it like watching DxD and Shinmai Maou? At first, the shameless gratuitousness of the violence and perversion of these shows might hurt a little, but once they get moving you'll start to feel all right, maybe even enjoy it somewhat. However, even if this is your first time, if you are steaming for some hot demon-on-human action, you're in for a HELL of a ride...literally!
In short, these shows want to make you think long and hard about why you watch anime: do you watch them for their plots, or do you watch them for their naked jiggling boobies? I know MY answer, do you know yours?
Both consist of demons and the protagonistt trying to protect his family/friends. It also contains very similar ecchi and harem situations.
Both have devil concept to it. The main heroine is red head just like Rias, and both are daughter to powerful devil lord. Both Issei and Basara can make weapon appear from their hand and help the main heroine. Both are well endowed and in highschool... Seriously you can make this into a spin off of each other.
• Main lead has a hidden power within him
• Lot's of sexy erotic fanservice. Ecchi fans +
• Crimson Haired devil bishoujo makes contract with male protagonist
• Action-packed battles
In the two animes, the female main characters of those animes (Rias of High School DxD and Mio of Shinmai Maou no Testament) are part of the real family of demons and they are trying to be hunted by other demons and races. The main characters (Issei of HS DxD and Basara of Shinmai) of both are fallen in love of this two sexy girls, and will fight for protect them and will they turn more powerful. The two animes are ecchi, romance, comedy, etc.
- A lot of fanservice
- Main female protagonist has red hair
- Similar plot
- Main protagonist has demonic special powers.
- Both have a big harem.
- Both have main protagonist that struggle to accept their demonic powers in the beginning.
- Both protagonist go to school.
demons, hero's,romance, ecchi, fanservis the closest u can get to highschool DxD
Demon, Heroes and a noob male Protagonist who gets stronger after some time.
Lots of Ecchi , harem and nice Animation.
Both anime is super familiar. Both main male characters have a weapon in there right hand. Both main female characters have crimson red hair. Both series have extremly much fanservice which can make it very annoying at times. Both of the female main characters are born to a demon lord. But in the end Shinmai Maou no Testament is just a copy cat of High School DxD.
One main male characters surrounded by a lot of pretty girls. Girls in both series are stronger than normal human being, fighting with magic and superpowers. Both series are harem-based with a lot of fan services to keep your eyes open.
same amount of ecchi, girls with huge breasts xD, fighting with magic/superpowers...
Both have lot of ecchi and funny scenes. In both series main character by some weird circumstances is dragged in extraordinary fight. Both protagonists are surrounded by beautiful girls with supernatural powers.
sekirei and highschool dxd are very captivating action animes with lots of action and great story lines. Both are of the action, harem, comedy genres and if you don't mind the boobs in one you won't mind them in the other.
Though the story is not similar no demons but as for the story is a very enjoyable one
its has a good plot but with more ecchi scence then high school DxD.
the main character is not as worthy as the one in high school DxD to be loved by the girls
at least in high school DxD he tries
over really good show from most ecchi/harem shows worth the watch
do drop a message if you liked this recommendation :)
- Great ammount of fanservice;
- Both include fights (mostly between girls in Sekirei, though);
- The main character views himself as a weak person and doesn't want anyone to get hurt because of that (in both animes);
- Even though both anime have lots of ecchi momments, they are able to balance them with a decent plot;
- Supernatural powers.
Both share a good plot along with harem/ecchi genre
Both series got the same concept of master/servant relationships, in which the typical average male main character gets dragged into a "new reality" and begins to be surrounded by beautiful girls. These series also involve supernatural fights and a lot of fanservice.
Same harem type, same strong bonds between characters. Its just that the main guy character of Sekirei is the sort of like not the one who is under control of someone, unlike HighSchoolDxD. Plus, romance feels floats around in both series. Both are worth the watch.
Both anime are a very good combination of Ecchi Overload and good story and good fights
One main male characters surrounded by a lot of pretty girls. The girls in both series could use magic. Both series are harem-based with a lot of fan services to keep your eyes open.
-Both based on a light novel
-Harem genre but still with a very good plot
-Strong male and female lead
-Similar art styles
-Both very good series
Both series are considered harem with the main protagonists involved with various girls after a destiny encounter.
Both series contain ecchi, fan-service, drama, comedy, romance, and magic/supernatural themes.
Both series' main female protagonist are also quite fond of the main protagonist after their initial meeting.
-Main girl is not just normal girl.
-Main guy has the special powers.
-No censorship on the chest and pants.
Ecchi Magic Harem shows that contain tonnes of comedy, sexiness, and fight scenes. Both male leads have harems in which the girls work together with the MC to defeat enemies.
Both Main Characters are innocent ppl and get sucked in to a new way of life, is what you could call it
Main Characters get new Powers and grow from the standard weak to stronger except Highschool DxD's character is more "pathetic"
Both Animes get surrounded by girls
Spoiler Alert!: Both Main Characters become HEROs (is my way of putting it)
Campione fights against gods, highschool dxd fights against vampires and such. What is there not to love about both of them? highschool has alot more lewdness but still great all around. Camptione! has a crap ton of action with alot of cool babes!
If you liked highschool DxD, you must like Campione too.
similar is the guy, who is surrounded by beautiful girls
The Guy also posseses Great powers just like highschool
Girls, magic, and actually a nice plot to go with them.
- Similar type of heroine. Elegant one and love the protagonist (both mind and body). Grimoire Rias with red hair and from Europe, Blandelli Erica with blonde hair from Italy. not to mention the Seiyuu was the same person.
- Highschool DxD and Campione have similar plot. protagonist with power the didn't know they had, fantasy where heroine is something supernatural (Devil and Godslayer)
- Lastly, same genre of Ecchi Comedy Romance, and of course, Harem with 4 girls.
Both share the Demons/Angels/God theme, Ecchi, Action and the Main Guy ist not a total wuss, unlike in many other Harem Shows.
Both have similar music, graphics, both share demon as main character and similar style :) This is also ecchi/harem.
Harems, Demons, Ecchi and Kickass action.
What's not to like?
Same type harem deal. Both anime's deal with fan service and ecchi moments with silly over the top situations. Both of this watched side by side would greatly complement one another if you're looking for another series like this. ♥ヾ(＞ワ＜)ノ♪
Demons magic and lots of fanservice.
Harem, ecchi, demons, magic.
And main character male have amazing power.
Demons, and fan-service, are the central themes on both of these series where it features characters, with supernatural abilities. Though, the characters in here are friendly, and mostly funny when the main male character interact with the female characters in a comical way. Expect some romance, magic attacks, and fan-service throughout the series.
High school DXD follows a perverted high school boy, who became a demon and help his friends reach their goal. Demon King Daimao follows a handsome high school boy who became shock about being the next demon lord, with his life became complicated.
High school dxd have a number of things incommon
.overdose of ecchi
.memorable character s
.both are ecchi with a good story line- - the plots may not be similar but are interesting
.both maim character z are demon z
.both use magic
both the series are not to serious and allow for lots for comedy..and fanservice
Similar by Demons, the main Char in Ichiban is Bad Ass!
Both have the MC with a 'hidden power' which they are unaware of at the beginning and then eventually leading to them being progressively more powerful as the episodes unfold. Obviously, both follow an ecchi/fanservice theme so if you enjoyed HS DXD this is similar but different!
