Happy for Dungeon Meshi, Kakukaku Shikajika, Boku dake ga Inai Machi, Boku no Hero Academia and Dagashi Kashi.

And where is Mahoutsukai no Yome anime!? It's a really good series. Also Koi wa Ameagari no You ni deserve more attention, really good one.

Ohayou, Ibara-hime is a hidden gem. I'm so glad it's getting SOME recognition. It doesn't belong in Dessert magazine. Hana to Yume would have been so much better for it.

I wish Colette wa Shinu koto ni Shita would get some recognition too. It's an awesome shoujo.

Are you sure it's not Takane to Hana instead? I am almost sure there is a mistake because Takane to Hana is one of the most popular shoujo series in Japan right now.

it definitely is Takane to Hana, ANN says so

News moderators need to change it.

Edit: I see it has been changed.

Almost every entry for the male readers has either Seinen or Shounen in the genre.

What'd you expect? That's why they are called Seinen/Shonen.

suprised with #14 sayonara girlfriend, it was published 2009-2014 and still got a spot in the 2016 rankings

Go Hotaru!!!

That top shoujo manga looks interesting.

Golden Kamuy is #2? talk about a pleasant surprise, don't really see many people reading it but I've really been digging it so glad it ranked well. Dungeon I skipped but seeing what people are saying I should check it out. Looks like a solid list though, glad Mahoutsukai and Hero Academy are smashing still.

2 of the top 10 male readers has an anime adapation this winter.
I can already see these animes doing pretty good in Japan

Mahoutsukai no Yome, I saw this at the bookstore and read a volume, thought it was alright. But maybe I'll give it another try.

Boku Dake once again, it was up last year, not to mention, it was on the Manga Taisho Awards for the last years as well. Better not butcher the anime.

I also remember seeing two of the manga for the female rankings was also on the Japan Media Arts Festival Awards, had then PTW'd. Oooku, I just read chapter 7 yesterday lol, still hasn't really caught my full attention yet, but it's gotten plenty of other awards.

But yeah, most of the stuff up there don't have English translation yet unfortunately. PTW'd most of the stuff.

Really nice choices for both male and female lists.

Will be sure to check out most of them.

Nice to see Boku Dake up there. I’m stoked for the upcoming anime. Also, I really need to start reading Dungeon Meshi sometime soon.

Anyhow, lots of interesting mangas right there worth checking.

I've heard good things about Golden Kamui and Mahoutsukai no Yome, might check them out later. Dungeon Meshi is good and Boku Dake ga Inai Machi is great, can't wait for the anime next season.

I love how the only ones I recognise are Boku no Hero Academia (hell yeah, 4th) and Dagashi Kashi (only from the anime announcement)
Maybe you just haven't looked hard enough for good manga? A lot of these are relatively popular and acclaimed.

I wasn't expecting to see a BL title in the top 20 for males.
well it's not a BL manga (and I'm pretty sure we won't see any sexual content in it) . It's a kind of a militant manga about homosexuality, and supporting gay people. In fact, I think it's more directed toward heterosexual and try to make some people change their mind about their misconception.
It's very surprising to see it here though, but in a good way, if it means it make some readers reflect on it. Interesting

As for the others, there is a good amount of manga I see here that interest me...
damn, so much translation to wish for ^^ (hope it will happen , a good amount of them are quite short, even 1 volume lenght).

I'm suprised to see "Dungeon Meshi" at the top , but yes it's a good and pleasant manga so it's good to see it here too.

" Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction " , why you only 18 baby ? You deserved to be at the top <3 hahaha
