Wasn't sure on 2nd but thought it had enough for third, though snk per volume sales has decline since last year, whether if this is because more people are moving towards buying digital volumes or some folks lost interest, or maybe both.
Anyhow its still impressive that snk is still up there since it only releases 3 volumes a year, while most series on the list releases 4.
Manga sales overall is going down and that trend will continue since everything is slowly becoming digital in Japan.

Congratulations on Kingdom for making it in the top 3, it is a awesome series and it fully deserve that spot, will try and find time to catch up.
Lowest threshold in a while , last year it was almost 2 million, it'll get even lower next year with all the series that ended.
Very few new series are big hits.
Take a good rest Kubo, please come back :'(

34. *,*49,792 Hai to Gensou no Grimgar Vol.1
42. *,*44,136 Hai to Gensou no Grimgar Vol.2
Cut-off now: 54,480
Means volume 1 hasn't sold 4688 copies in half a year now, it was probably really close though. Volume 9 sold 25,905 before it dropped off the weekly ranks, say it sold 40k by now, that's still around 38k copies for the other 8 volumes, that's 4,750 each. Really curious to see the exact numbers for volume 1.
Still, ending up as a 40k averager after the anime isn't bad at all, considering it never even ranked in the weekly sales before it.

Huh? The weekly ranking in September shows it sold more than 170k.
This thread is only for sales this year. That means volume 1 had sold 21,139 before the start of this year (well, a bit more since that's from September).

So close! If this ranking had been released in a few weeks, SNK would be in the 2nd place.

YEEEEEEEEES, CAN'T WAIT FOR THE ANIME OF MY BABIES
the fact that a t.v show boosted Kingdom into 3rd stop this year and 4th/5th or something last year is insane
for a single episode to boost a manga into a top 5 seller, i wonder what other manga have been featured on that show
also the random HxH volume is pretty funny thing to see

How the mighty have fallen. Stop adding new character at each volume Kamachi.
That's far from the problem. Japanese fans are dropping it because the endgame is so far off and there's no anime adaptation for them to look forward to.
Dengeki's poor handling of the series since NT started has fucked it over.

get rekt ReZero o/
Well to be fair KonoSuba has about 3 months of more active advertisement than Re:Zero which explains that little edge it has on it. If that time difference would be smaller or even non existent it might look differently.
Still awesome two see that these two series manages to hold their own against big shots like KNNW and SAO
As someone who just got into TG nice to see it selling so well.
But what I'm really happy about is the 2nd and 4th place of the LN rankings. So KonoSuba made about 400k in the second half of 2016 ( May - November ), solid post anime boost. But for Re:Zero to almost surpass this in 3 months less advertisement is even crazier. In fact when you think about it, it managed to pull these numbers in a yearly list while it only had active advertisement in 6 1/2 months out of 12. I can imagine that if the anime adaptation aired earlier it would have been probably 2nd on the list maybe even first surpassing Kimi no na wa.
I mean it already has the title for the fastest selling volume 1 LN ever since NGNL in 2014, well until KNNW came. So stuff like this might have been possible.
Now that KonoSuba and Re:Zero get a crossover novel series I'm really curious what effects this will have on both series and how it will sell!

You're looking at the wrong cutoff. For Grimgar volume 1 to have got on these rankings it would have needed to sell at least 103706 copies.
Bestselling light novel volumes of the year/all time* (and more in the same club including weekly series ranks etc). <-- No longer being updated. Sorry. *that there is data for
There is no such thing as shit taste. Only idiots who think everyone should have the same taste as they do.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.
Tired to see One Piece up there to be honest... Well some series dropped compared to last year, but some did much better. Good to see Chihayafuru, Kingdom and Diamond no Ace doing well.
One Piece the dominator again! Doing Japan a great justice Oda =).
Kingdom actully doing better then Aot and Gintama hmm Should give that a shot soon...
Kingdom is one of the best better known series running atm, so glad it keeps charting high every year. It will probably be on number 2 next year considering Ansatsu is over, unless some new show appears and takes the industry with storm.
Also happy for Tokyo Ghoul, and looks like Boku no Hero Academia is doing really well so far since its still pretty new. I guess that's Jump's new mascot.

Nope if you have been following manga sales for a while, you would realise that a good chunk of kingdom sales is from backlog sales. It will probably sell between 3.5m to 5m max next year, that is if it doesn't get a remake or 3rd season.
And the reason why I am saying it wont get second place because it wont top snk next year, and that is even if snk doesn't get a second season next year, not saying snk will get second place next year but more like it wont top snk next year, due to its backlog sales drying up.
Kingdom per volume sales are 600k so unless these sales go up it is not going to happen.
But kingdom does have the recipe to beat one piece if this series got just half of snk 2013 boost it would easily surpass one piece just because it has over 50+ volumes which would rack up the backlog sales.
Super happy to see Kingdom in the top 3 and Boku no hero Academia in the top 10! Glad to see Golden Kamuy in the top 30. Also good to see Konosuba being a top seller.
