 The Jump Studio special stage for Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's Platinum End manga announced a television anime adaptation on Saturday. Pony Canyon simultaneously opened an official website, revealing the main staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promo. In order to earn the position, he must defeat 12 other "God Candidates" within 999 days. | ... How?! It's terrible! It's legit awful. Not even in comparison to Bakuman or the legendary Death Note. It is very bad all around in its writing, characters and plots. The concept was interesting but the execution was extremely poor. Very disappointing as a fan. |

| Honestly, the manga wasn't great, I stopped reading a long time ago and never felt motivated to start it back up, but I need more shows that are just mindless entertainment, and I love superhero and sentai shit. I'm totally gonna watch this as my main turn-your-brain-off show that I have every season. |

I remember the book covers being somewhat holographic if it is the one I am remembering correctly. Yikes... well I guess maybe the creator and/or the producers are hoping this anime will increase manga sales... |

| The art in the manga is top notch but that's about it. The writing part turned out to be really below the bar. I was also disappointed as a fan of the authors and dropped the manga long ago. But maybe I'll read it now that it ends seeing not so many chapters are left. And I'll probably still watch the anime just out of curiosity. I don't think the art would be as beautiful though. |

| I don't like the manga so far but maybe the anime will be a bit more entertaining, idk. It's not what I'd consider straight up bad but certainly not what I'd expect from Ohba and Obata. |
| Read the manga cause Ohba/Obata like everyone else and I can only agree with a lot of the comments here. This isn't even remotely on the level of Death Note or even Bakuman. |

| As other people mentioned, I've also thought of Mirai Nikki lol The art and background music looks and sounds good so far. I'm going to keep on a lookout for more teasers/trailers and decide if this is worth the watch or not. |
