I watched Demon Slayer when it came out and didn't really get the hype. I'll watch JJK one day, probably. These shows went super popular thanks to the pandemic and the swarm of new anime fans, and them being mainstream doesn't mean they're bad, or good, it's just a personal preferance thing. But yeah that sort of pretensiousness is bound to happen as something that was considered niche becomes popular, lol.

Yeah I agree! I don't remember much of dbz other than it being hype, but everyone knows Goku :D

Speaking of Naruto and One Piece, I know it was a hot topic but I can't really choose my favorite between the two, or say which one is better.
Naruto has the element of nostalgia which I can't take away, and I rewatched it before One Piece so it was my first long anime, and the one I was most invested in, naturally.

I used to say I'd never watch One Piece because it's too long, and I didn't really care for the premise. I watched the first and last episode at the time (around 900) with a friend during the pandemic just because, and didn't think much about it. A few weeks later I thought ok, I don't have anything I want to watch so let's give it a try. I fell in love and I've been watching it ever since, so receny bias plays a part. I love them both for different reasons, but now Hunter x Hunter is a runner-up to my favorite of all times, lol. But both HXH and OP are on-going, so it'd be more fun to compare the three once they wrap up

No kidding! The infamous great shift, lol. I wasn't really hiding that fact I was watching anime, but I wasn't very open as well. I tried to get friends on board and failed haha. I don't know how to feel about the flood of new fans in terms of fandom culture, but it's nice that anime as a medium of story-telling is finally starting to get the respect it deserves!

Same here! Watching it at 8-9 years old, Orochimaru gave me nightmares, lol. I vividly remeber the chunin exams and how amazing it was.

Yup, same here. I rewatched it once but I've seen so many clips and rewatched certain parts so it's always fresh in mind:) Naurto and DBZ definitely popularized anime all over the world!

Hey man I just wanted to ask, since you are a completionist, how later do you read the manga after watching the anime? Or vice versa? Example, you watched AoT S3, S4 ain't animated yet, so do you start the manga immediately?

Also in case you finish a show, how later do you read it's manga version? Or do you rewatch the show as well?

Btw I noticed that you watched the dragon ball z and naruto anime and read the manga of both series too. Did you like actually do this, or did you use a hybrid method to watch it, like only watch anime for the fights and read manga for everything else?

Hey man. Just wanted to let ya know that I've given up on rating now lol, I can't seem to make up my mind on which show deserves a 9 or 8. Idk if I should do it based off enjoyment or objectively. Like I think your name is a banger, but then take demon slayer, sure it's a way worse anime writing wise, but I enjoyed it more than your name. So yeah balancing all the ratings of each season has screwed with me.

Should I just stop rating altogether in your opinion? Or keep a fixed system or something, I am pretty confused. I see your profile pop up a lot, and you've watched a lot of things so yeah guide me plz😁

Ok thanks for the tip mate, tbh it's really taken a toll on me, thinking of giving up scoring altogether and just use MAL for tracking, cuz whenever I score, I am like "does this anime deserve an 8 or 9. is this better than that other anime which I rated 8. does that anime actually deserve 8?" You get my point lol

Hi, I'm from the same country as you. I wanted to know, how do you rate animes? Don't they take the fun away from watching? Do you go back and re rate animes? Or just go with your gut feeling and give whatever score. Plzz give me some tips, im going crazy with my ratings lol
