 The first year anniversary event for the cellphone game Azur Lane held on Saturday has announced that the game will receive a TV anime. Main staff members have been revealed. Synopsis Azur Lane is a military alliance formed to fight against a grotesque enemy called Sirens, which suddenly appeared in the seas and threatens humanity with overwhelming strength. Although the success of the warships made it possible to temporarily stop the attack of Sirens, differences in ideals have surfaced among the camps involved in the creation of the alliance. With each camp advancing their own motive, the girls confront an unprecedented enemy they have never faced before. Staff Director: Tenshou (Rewrite) Series Composition: Jin Haganeya (Guilty Crown script) Studio: Bibury Animation Studio Azur Lane is a smartphone game, which is developed by Shanghai Manjuu and Xiamen Yongshi. Streaming website Bilibili published the game in China in May of last year. Yostar released the game in Japan in September of last year, and will release the game in English. A new PlayStation 4 game Azur Lane: Crosswave is also in the works. A manga adaptation titled Azur Lane: Queen's Orders by Tsuchii (Girls & Panzer: Comic Anthology) has been announced to serialize via Comic REX magazine. I couldn't get past the first episode of any so far. There's just something incredibly dull about them it makes me loose interest after few minutes and go back to staring into void. On a side note, looking at the character design in the game it will be a massive pedobait so I guess it will sell anyway... |

Anyway, it was from miles far to smell that Azure as well an adaptation gets: like they lastly (past few months) with hints/teasers about it "bombarded" had in the nets. Hmm... After the graphic and the plot to judge: this could be really for KanColle dangerious - though, I looking nevertheless for it. This could be really epic. |

| Nice to see that Bibury Animation Studio have another project right after Grisaia, even tho that didnt even start yet. The designs look good from what I can make out in the PV. The biggest news that came out of it is that Tenshou will be directing it at his own studio. He is great at pooling a ton of talented animators into his shows. With decent script-writing to take all the game's content, I am excited to see how this will fair up. With a Nitroplus staff on the series composition we are in safe hands. Funny how ppl who don't know how prolific these staff members are automatically dismiss a show. Look if your not the target market don't cry because it doesn't cater to your niche generic western taste. |

| Not really expecting much from it so I'll just enjoy the shipgirls getting animated. I know it's the same as KC and the game that the girls will be gliding in water to fight but seeing some ships in the PV and Hood somehow equipping the big ship makes me hope there's some real ship battle at first like in Arpeggio. Sort of a mix between the two in that there's some real ship battles at first with the girls on top of their own models before transforming to getting equips in their side to have those water gliding battles. That would make me happy even if the story would suck. |

I am super biased in favor of its genre, but from what I've seen the general consensus is that Uma Musume turned out pretty good, thanks to P.A. Works staff's handling of the game's ridiculous committee-conceived trend-mashup concept. An anime equivalent of MythBusters' "polished turd" dorodango. Not expecting any such surprise here, of course, but I've been wanting an Azur Lane show for a while based solely on the fanart. :D |

| I want to check out the PS4 game, it looks ok and it's something that Kancolle didn't do. I have no interest in the mobile game though and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to watch this one without playing it. Of course if the PS4 game releases before the anime, I'll watch it, otherwise I'll have to pass on it. |
