The incestuous buttsex was such a great scene really.

Sure it happens somewhere so bonus points for realness but it isn't really that :\

It was just really refreshing to see this kind of scene instead of the usual cutting of hair bullshit. Hair grows back. I haven't had a dick up my arse so I can't say that I know if a sphincter ever goes back to the way it was (fairly certain it doesn't)...but still that's commitment! Imagine the psychological damage and all that shit! ...though it's kind of curious in that he could have pulled out his knife and tortured him or something...he seemed a little too willing :3???

Also Ichiise has said more words than in every past episode. Nice voice.

Toyama does seem to have a real lack of self-worth. Notice how he lets the Organo member who helped him out (forget his name) pat his ass, and tells Ichise that he lets his dad have his way with him out of obligation to that guy.

I'd like to see him hook up with Ichise; they'd make a great couple. Ichise's unpredictable, suppressed anger + Toyama's internalized self-loathing + their father issues would create some really interesting chemistry. I really doubt the show would go that far, though.

I'm loving the places this show is willing to go, though. There really isn't a more powerful scenario to show the extent of someone's willingness to totally deface themselves for social/financial comfort.

Great episode. Sure the aforementioned scene made me more than a little uncomfortable, but Texhnolyze is never afraid to test boundaries. Also, yeah, Ichise has a real cool voice. Also, even though I have no idea what they are talking about, the scene between Ichise and Ran was really well done and seems to hint that Ichise is aware of something.

They were talking about the future.

I just laughed with that guy going everywhere trying to play the boss while the others were laughing at him. That was so funny. No one took him seriously.
And Ichice finally starts to talk and show that his actually thinking about something.Until now i wasn't even certain if he wasn't slightly retarded.

Or did I watch a censored version?

No, it's all implied. Dude, at first I was like, why's his shirt off? Why'd he kick him in the butt? Then I was like, oh buttsex....

I sort of get it why Toyama's putting up with Kohakura being his boss and all that gratitude but WTH? Even his own father?... And for just that damn info? Oh well whatever.

So Ichise can actually hold a normal conversation after all, I'm getting bored of his 'usual' screams of rage. :P

Blah, this son-raping father really made this anime 100% realistic, nuff said. But I kinda feel bad about Toyama - he doesn't seem like he's getting fucked on his own will(as someone before me noted, he's lacking self-worth).

On the bright side, Ichinose talked more than ever before, and that felt just great. Oonishi is still alive and kicking? I thought he'd be killed by now. But Organo seems to be "firing" him soon anyway.

I'm interested in what goal will Ichinose find for himself. But for sure he's a likable character at the moment.

Very disturbing episode, but that's what makes this series great!
Toyama seems to have at the same time a ton of gratitude to his boss(Kohakura?), and anger for the abuse he has to put up with.

I believe he made the sacrifice to get abused by his own father because he can't kill him(you can see him making some empty threats) but he still needs the information, that's how big he thinks he's debt to Kohakura is. Interesting character this Toyama.

Also I wonder what exactly was Ichise talking about with Ran in the last scene, was he asking about his own death? And why does Ran react like that, not wanting to see anything anymore? :o

One of the best episodes so far IMO.

P.S. Love the reaction from the bosses of the other organizations, Small fry. ahah

I thought I missed it too at first.
I mean, this seems like an anime that might've actually showed something, but sometimes making it implied makes it that much more terrifying if you let your imagination wild and realize all the psychological trauma it must cause him...

Why didn't they just threaten to kill the father? I'm sure Ichise could have just beaten the shit out of him till he talked . . .

Anyways, that last bit was ominous. Going to guess that Ichise's future isn't all sparkly and full of rainbows.

A incestuous buttsex. People in this city are twisted as fuck.

I know right! That was funny, especially the scene with the cult gang leader, no fuck was given.

That's a cool brotherhood formed between Ichise and the "son".. or maybe I am just sensing things wrong.

Why is this show so good? I already like the new guy with the idiotic hairstyle.
If I have to guess, Ran followed Yoshi because he was the only one who could change the future she sees, and she's disappointed in Ichise because he chose to conform to the rules of the city.

But Ergo Proxy was boring IMO. Texhnolyze has much better atmosphere, and makes me curious what happens next, even if there are things which has no sense now. And Texhnolyze has MUCH better art and animation. Art and animation in Ergo Proxy sucks very bad.

Here's hoping Toyama's dad gets what's coming to him.
I'm also not sure what OP means by cutting of hair..
But yeah, it definitely doesn't seem like this was the first time Toyama's been stuck doing "favours" for his father. Presumably things were even worse than that, since he seemingly accepts that behavior from Kohakura, and even considers him to have saved him from his father. You don't consider yourself saved if you experience the exact same treatment elsewhere, so i think it's pretty clear his father did even worse things than what we've seen so far.

At this point I'm convinced the political aspect is just pretentious filler that's supposed to show how powerless these fools are in the hands of fate.

You know one thing that's caught my attention is the reasons people get texhnolyzed for, like Toyama using it to cover up or change his identity, which is like the opposite for Ichise since it pretty much gave him an identity. He's definitely developed a lot as a character seeing how he contrasts from his former uncivilized self in ep1, I mean, I never expected him to actually join the Organo
