I've been a huge movie buff the past year or so, been watching a lot of classics and newer stuff. Super into it at the moment. What keeps you entertained?
pLaguE_ Jul 3, 2017 11:42 PM
I got to that point as well, I actually recently watched Blame! on netflix and thought about MAL and shit. What u been up to?

Im going to start rn after finishing some backlogs. I swear have heard this manga before but im not sure where tho
Diginarcissa Jun 16, 2017 10:52 PM
where did you read Saturn Apartments? I cant find chapters 27-64 everywhere :/
BlueKite Jun 15, 2017 3:12 AM
Nice, I'll read it as soon as possible! When something is compared with Planetes, I immediately check it out (even more since you claim it's better)

Yes definitely character progression and development is a plus. I've had a hipster phase before where I discovered a bunch of obscure yet good manga that is less than 1000 members. I even reviewed some of them :^)

of course I did. Its fucking hillarious

>Dosei Mansion, read it.
copy that

Scientia has been on my PTR for a while now, I'll probably read it soon since it's quite short. I'd do the same with Dosei Mansion, definitely under my radar now that you recommended it ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
BlueKite Jun 13, 2017 5:02 AM
Added to my PTR ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

What other recent manga have you read? I see you finished Lady Snowblood, which I remember enjoying a lot.

Nah I missed your butt. I have been alright, wbu? I'm not active on this thing anymore

Yeah, I've been reading a ton of manga recently and there are just so many of them that are so good yet undiscovered by the mainstream. I still feel watching anime somehow, but mostly backlog stuff.

The industry could lessen its output each season and focus on maybe 20 or less titles. An anime original that is actually good is such a rarity nowadays. They don't want to risk it. But perhaps there is hope for anime movies with the success of titles such as Your Name and A Silent Voice worldwide. It's less hassle schedule-wise, and studios could capitalize on that by releasing like 2 movies each year that would give them better earnings rather than working on 1-2 shows per season.

Yeah MAL changed a lot. I don't want to sound like an oldfag but I kind of miss the times when CD 2.0 was at its peak. Nowadays, forums are so boring. Thread topics are too safe. And when a thread attempts to get a bit risky, people take it too seriously especially pseudo-intellectuals and SJWs. There is no place for people who want to mess around a bit and when you do, people call you a troll and ignore you. Muh safe space

As for the state of anime, I've come to accept that it's in a shitty state and it will probably stay that way for quite a period of time. Sure, people get to support their favorite anime now through legal streaming services like Crunchyroll but it doesn't eliminate the problems the Japan anime industry is facing. Too much shows are being shown each season in comparison to 5 years ago, thus lessening the consistency of quality. I'd get rewarded with at least 1-2 good anime each season and sometimes 2-3 ok shows that are decent time wasters. Even though I say all of this complaints, it's easier for me to focus on other things I like such as movies, manga, music, and even spending more time with backlog stuff. In conclusion, current anime lineups aren't good enough to be watched in a regular basis. Which is why I usually wait at least mid-season to really sort out the things I want to watch.
