| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- A bit of an average start imo. The opening song is okay I guess for its colorful style and the mermaid girls. The episode introduced a good amount of characters although I find them all pretty similar in terms of design. There's also another magical creature with them. The animation quality is mediocre, didn't impress me at all. However, I will say seeing mermaids roaming around with their tail is somewhat unique. |

| It looked somewhat interesting but the girls seem a bit stereotype. I have to say that their underwater world looks pretty interesting so far. |
| The scenery porn is excellent with this anime and everyone is exceptionally cute especially Kanon and Serena, their tails look a lot better animated and don't bother me, it's also quite peaceful like near Gochiusa peaceful. Episode 2 should be the determining factor of if this will end being at or near AOTS or not since there were no performances in this episode, I can't wait since I have the feeling that they will be unique. |

| Very pleasant. Enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting. Opening and endings are ultra cute. Wouldn't mind either if the show was just about Christmas cake mermaids hanging out in a cafe. |

| I imagine new mermaids are made through magic or something, hence the lack of mermen. Anyway, this show didn't really do anything for me. The character designs are pretty flat, and the animation doesn't really make it look like they're in water that well. Also, their eyes are all weird/look like they came from one of those early 2000s "How to Draw Manga" books. This is my first drop of the season, but I don't think it's offensively bad or anything. I just thought it was boring. |
| Throughout it feels like the anime I've seen that were made primarily for little girls - PreCure (2017), Aikatsu. The substantial presence of two adult women (one voiced by Kikuko Inoue), who serve as competent leaders, makes it distinct from the CGDCT formula. But as Ubiquitor said, and as I'd feared, the setting and lifestyle are barely affected by being underwater. The bare minimum changes don't give it as much novelty as it could have against other moe iyashikei. Before I watched, I was thinking of Disney's Fairies CG series. On VRV there's a comment from a user with the coincidentally fitting handle of "ManWhale1," who writes, "It looks like a show that one would watch with their daughter or something. It reminds me a lot of barbie mermaid dolls lol." | Umm...1st episode, as much as its originality can be respected (the mermaid thingy), everything else is just average, not to mention that this show is brought to you by Bushiroad, the same company that sponsored Cardfight! Vanguard (as Bermuda Triangle is one of the characterizations). The character designs still remind me of that ImoImo look, but honestly this one is better....by a short mile. So pretty much like @ubiquitor and @nDroae, another original idea that already has hints of degradation. Problem is, everything that is human-like, could have just transformed them into the usual human world. |

| While I skipped/ not watching Cardfight (or play any of the games), this looks like an Interesting series Apparently from the summary, the girls are apparently going to become Idols in the future, and this series is showing their adventures and journey toward the "Big City" Also.... anyone want to explain to me how they're drinking Tea underwater?, how do you drink liquid when you're already surrounded by liquid? ___ ___ ___ BTW, the purple hair Loli (Kanon) have 4 tail fins? While all other Mermaids have 2 tail fins. If we go by Human standards, does this mean Kanon have 4 legs? lol |
