Now, since i watch mainly comedy shows, I don't get much space for tears. I was cram-watching a bunch of anime OP's when I came across the Hanayamata one. The reminded me of the dance of the final episode that I watched a couple of years ago, which caught me off-guard and is the only show of date to have made me cry, especially off guard. It was prob something to do with the build-up, but I would have never thought I would have triggered the water works.

Whats your stories of shows that made you cry unexpectedly

Fucking Re-kan.
That anime is pretty damn bad overall but for some reason, episode 8 was really good and made me shed some tears. Not gonna lie tho, these kind of stories like in this episode are my weakness .-.

The most unexpected ones for me were K-On!! S2 (honestly who would've guessed that something like this can be sad), Major S1 (came there for baseball, not for heartwrenching scenes goddamit) and Shingeki no Kyojin (probably mostly due to the fact that I find this show fucking scary - being eaten alive is one of my worst fears and SnK's been giving me nightmares since the first trailer).

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken series. To be honest I never knew what I was getting into, I saw a bunch of videos and it was about vampires and magical servants and stuff but each death punches you right in the heart.

I've cried to anime on a handful of occasions before, but the show that made me cry most unexpectedly was Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru. Then again, I tend to have a weakness for when shows authors use objects or actions to convey feelings rather than dialouge, e.g. deleting the contact of a dead loved one.

The end of episode 1 for Plastic Memories is one that got me.

I think I was more focused on what I was expecting from the main cast interactions, and didn't see that ending coming.
You're never too old to watch anime.
If I ever stop watching anime, check my pulse I'm likely dead.

I wake up with coffee & anime, I go to sleep with coffee & anime.

Yeah, I didn't think I would cry at No.6, but I cryed a little bit at some point. I didn't think I would cry to Orange too, but in the end it turned out that I was drawning in my own lake of tears, because I can't swim. And there were a lot of others anime that maked me cry.

Mirai Nikki. Who would have thought that I would shed some tears in something like that not once or twice, but at least three separate times.

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko. I didn't expected a series who I believed would be silly and lighthearted (who is what I got at the end, not that this is bad) would made me be on the verge of tears, particularly in the episode when

There is also Kara no Kyoukai: Mirai Fukuin. Not for the movie itself, who is not that sad, but because in the end, when "Alleluia" of Kalafina started playing along with the credits, and, knowing that the journey of Shiki finally came to an end, I cannot refrain the tears from emerge from my eyes. It was like losing something valuable, the fact that after expending three years watching the movies, they will end for good, made me very sad, not in a bad way, since all good things came to an end, but still.

I cry at emotional moments, happy and sad. I went into Noragami blind and had no idea it was going to be an emotional roller coaster, especially season 2. That's one of the reasons why I love it so much.

I haven't shed a single tear during Plastic Memories until the very last second. The last scene got me crying af.

While Fate/Grand Order movie wasn't sad at all, I just couldn't contain myself when Caster asks to be summoned as Lancer next time. Those flashbacks from UBW got me hard.

These were the unexpected stuff that had me crying. Anyway, I'm a crybaby, so just try mentioning stuff like Nana or Fate/Zero and I'll be sobbing in a corner.

Witchblade.
I expected some ecchi battle anime, and it brought the feels with it.

Donten ni Warau.
That episode was a shocker. It was very well done. The ending animation was the icing on the cake.

Konjiki no Gash Bell.
There's a lot of sad moments in this "kiddy" anime, and I will admit that I shed some tears several times. The ending to the Manga made me cry even more.

Initial D First Stage.
Those who have seen it know which episode I'm talking about. It is the 4th anime that made me cry out loud. That scene hurt like a mother...

And very surprisingly, Azumanga Daioh.
It's a comedy, but the last few episodes got me to tear up.

It's not the best anime. Tbh I don't even know why I cried at the end, it might have been because I was really attached to the characters and soundtracks.

K-On!!, Shirobako, and Silver Spoon made me cry and I was definitely caught off-guard by it. The former two especially, since neither is advertised as particularly emotional and K-On in particular I was constantly told is just cute and lacking emotions other than happiness (despite my crying like, 4 times and tearing up at least one or two more times on top of that). These three unexpected surprised still screw me up on re-watches.

Boku no Hero Academia S1 episode 1 and 2.
I watch the show expecting epicness, cool super power, fun scenes, and the usual shounen stuff
I never expected something emotional enough to make me cry lmao, at least not at earlier episodes, DEFINITELY NOT IN THE FIRST COUPLE OF EPISODES LMAO
