I see you watched the first season of yahari. What did you think of it in comparison to other romcoms? do you plan on watching the second season?
None of the characters have any purpose for what they do or why they want to do them, and if it is established it, it feels very weak and pointless. There's no reason for me to root for any of the characters, and the action feels like its there just to exist as action and nothing else.
I will admit the "stands" were cool and pretty to look at, and some of the characters had an interesting design with this mind, but it didn't hold my attention for no longer than a few minutes.
Either a) I'm too critical (considering that many many people love the Jojo series)
or b) you and I see something for what it truly is.
most people would say a) tho.
The plot is boring and laughable, characters are boring (and act very very dumb most of the time), fight scenes are okay, and the openings are fantastic, however. if it weren't for that I probably would have given it a much lower score. Most likely gonna give the entire thing a 5, but we'll see if part 2 impresses me as the later episodes go on.
non-ending? is it one of those shows that just stops because the manga wasn't complete by the time of its last episode?
i think that's what really got me when i first started watching it. it's the warmth, and not the apparent surface warmth of moeblobs being so cute you'll have a heart attack, but the warmth of friendship. being someone who has rarely related to someone on a very deep level and puts a strong price on true friendships, i think it speaks to me on the level of having a second family, a group who can hold you as dear as you hold them. it's easily one of the strongest aspects of this series. i find amusing that some counterarguments to this show are "muh feels is not objectively a standard of quality", but i honestly think this is a lot more than muh feelsies. it has heart because it's made by people who understand people, who understand friendships, who understand interpersonal human relationships - something that is rare in anime nowadays.

i haven't watched nana yet, how is it?
reading through all your explanations, i realized how fascinating and unique it is to see someone find their own meaning in art. it's so interesting to see how people can connect to something that to others might seem like nothing. it's heartwarming.
considering your affection and connection to k-on, i recommend you give beck a try. i've noticed uts also recommends it in his video.
I'd really rather spend that time in watching/discovering new anime :p
