Paulo27 said: Is GuP the most profitable franchise of the year now? No, it's #3 for the year so far, but it won't be this close when the Love Live! μ's Live Collection comes out on August 26, and the COMPLETE BEST album (which could possibly sell 140,000+ like the previous Best Live collection I and II). It won't be a complete whitewash though, as Love Live! Sunshine is counted as a separate series from Love Live! instead of being combined like Idolmaster (original + Cinderella Girls + Million Live + etc). Note: the period covered here is 2015/12/14~2016/06/12. |

They're not part of the production committee hence they get no revenue out of the show's big success. This is a very common model as studios usually aren't a part of the committee. They are more like the executive. |

Enlighten me Production comitee contract. Studio only gets money to produce it. The profits go solely to the committee who invested money. Studio ends up spending more money on the movie than they got to finish it and fulfill their contractual obligations. As a result, despite Girlpan being one of best selling anime movies, the studio actually LOST money making it and won't see sales because according to contract they go solely to production committee. It highlights the cancerous state of anime industry and the extent of power corporations like Aniplex have. Its not limited to sales even, as committee can literally alter the product creatively by demanding various things - the writer of Garo:Divine Flame movie is still salt about committee literally forcing to resurrect a character beucause he was popular in the show |

As a result, despite Girlpan being one of best selling anime movies, the studio actually LOST money making it and won't see sales because according to contract they go solely to production committee. It highlights the cancerous state of anime industry and the extent of power corporations like Aniplex have. Its not limited to sales even, as committee can literally alter the product creatively by demanding various things - the writer of Garo:Divine Flame movie is still salt about committee literally forcing to resurrect a character beucause he was popular in the show What? This doesn't make sense at all. Why would the Studio produce the anime in first place |

This is fairly common for smaller studios, but not for the bigger studios such as Sunrise (see how they're #1 on the Love Live! production committee). 製作 2016 プロジェクトラブライブ!サンシャイン!!(サンライズ、バンダイビジュアル、ランティス、ブシロード、KADOKAWA アスキー・メディアワークス) |

This doesn't make sense at all. Why would the Studio produce the anime in first place 1) The producers decides if they want to adapt a LN or a manga into an anime. Same goes for original animes 2) Negotiation and Contract signing crap between the author of a LN/manga and the producers 3) After all that is done, the producers then funds the studio and the studio creates the anime. Most -- if not -- all of the money goes towards the producers. Not the studio. The money that the studio gets is from their respective producers. "Why would the Studio produce the anime in first place" Because they work under said producer. The production committee is like their big boss. If they don't do what they say then they get no money. If they get no money then their studio will suffer the same fate as Manglobe did. |

The μ's Final Live BD-BOX/BD/DVD has been solicited on Amazon, for a September 28th release. As a result, the μ's Live Collection sharply increased in rank on Amazon. The Final Live may even sell higher than the 5th Live's 65,500~66,000, so expect to see some of these in the Yearly list, and also the Love Live! Sunshine anime BDs...
