| My favorites are the Akagi/Kaiji narrators for being so over the top, the dub narrator for Bobobo since he just doesn't give a damn, and Bartender since it's just so amazing how nearly every character plays as a narrator within the show's stage set. I don't really notice poorly done narrators, but in some cases, it does feel almost Saturday morning cartoonish when there's a narrator talking to me directly. When the narrator becomes part of the show though, they become more like another character, rather than a random voice that announces events and the episode's end. |

| The one in Kaiji got annoying after a while. The voice actor tried too hard. But usually I like them, more explanation. |
| When it's overused it becomes tiresome (HxH). Otherwise I don't really mind. |
| Wakamoto narrator is always welcome. Also didn't mind the narrator in Ookami-san, despite disliking the anime as a whole. Though a lot of people hate the narrator in that, and instead love the insufferable female lead that the narrator justifiably trolls. |

I see the characters like Miwa and the street vendor in Bartender, or the three older masters, more playing the role of a "Greek chorus" than narrating. A narrator typically describes the direction of the story; a Greek chorus comments on the thoughts and motivations of a character. Episode 9 about the night the bar is closed is a good example. Since I know next to nothing about the conventions of the Japanese stage, I don't know whether this is a good analogy or not. |

| The only one I can remember is Norio Wakamoto from Hayate no Gotoku, and that was very well done. I imagine not every one is as good as him though so it's hard to say whether I like them or not really. |

| Hunter x Hunter 2011 narrator made the show a whole lot better. Imagine all the character standing around for a whole episode and explaining their powers like in every other anime. Just wouldn't work in Hxh, the flow of the story would be ruined. |

To be honest, the only part of the Chimera Ant arc that I didn't like was the Narrator's description of the battles during the start of the fights with the Royal Guards. Other than that, the arc was fine for me. |
