| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- This episode was more of a story and character building one than the previous. Seems they're going to slowly feed us backstory for Akira, which is good for pacing since they're also spent a chunk of time giving us a glimpse into the lives of the various side characters as well. OST continues to be a stand out for me. I really enjoy the ending song, even though there's no animation to it. I have a hard time letting Netflix try and skip over it. |

| This is getting real good. I really liked how they portrayed Akira here. The whole theme of "Devil outside, but a human at heart", works really well when you have a crying Devilman. Akira's transformation was hilarious with the school's reaction to him. I'm also interested in this anime-original "reporter" guy they've added in this this adaptation. OST is this anime is amazing. I almost had a stroke from the excitement I got when I heard that "Devilman no Uta" remake OST. 5/5 |

| HELL YEAH!! the first ep started off as kinda ... dull so i had low expectations of it, compared to the manga alot, but it managed at the end to make me smile, now ep 2 had me hyped!! also this ep was hilarious and idk if its true but the characters seems to have a more interesting humanly personality (or is that just the mc? idk) |

| Apparently being part-devil gives you the balls to watch porn right in the middle of school with a hard-on. The family Akira is living with is religious, huh? I wonder how they'd respond to the fact that he's...well, "Devilman". Would they try to exorcise him? I imagine it'll come up at some point. From now on, my new conspiracy theory about celebrities - instead of them being part of the Illuminati or having some kind of mind control chips - is that they're actually Devils. As Ryou said in the first episode, it makes a lot of sense in a lot of violent incidents and sudden outbursts. Honestly, there are times where I'm not sure if I'm into the story or if I'm just engrossed by Yuasa's style and the graphic sexual content that you never see in television anime, but I really like this so far. |

| Akira is pretty badass in demon form! Also from what we saw in this episode I think two things are going to happen, one being Akira is slowly going to become more devil-like as time goes on (this would only make sense) and second I think something bad will happen to Miki, and she'll probably, somehow, become a demon |

| Akira Fudo at the start on this episode had me fucking howling. He's veering into Kenshirou levels of alphaness now. His inner devilman has awaken, but his human heart is still in tact. He's kinda like the Hulk in a sense, but less green. It's evident that Masaaki Yuasa is enjoying the creative freedom of working on a Netflix series. I can't recall his previous work being this unrestrained and indulgent, nor can I imagine Japanese TV allowing such a show. Devilman Crybaby epitomizes the "fuck it" credo—literally and figuratively—and I love that. It's only January, and we already have a strong contender for anime of the year. 5/5 |
| It's kinda funny how everyone just accepted Akira being completely different due to coolness. Does he actually transform when he's sleeping? Cause that was a lot of hair in his bed. | I'm very much interested to see if freedom allowed for this series will open up the path of more unadulterated anime in the future mainly on netflix ,like so many themes are being brought up that are just rare in modern anime without feeling hamfisted. even being slightly bothered by it (mainly the gore) i respect the attitude if just not giving a fuck not sure if ill finish it all right away but it seems promising |

| Donkey moans and the suspension of disbelief needed to accept everyone's reaction to Akira's changes makes this show a bit hard to take seriously. It's amusing but it's almost like cheap shlock level entertainment. |

I won't be surprised with either explanation tbh. I was confused, however, by a) the horse sounds, of course and b) what Akira was cleaning off his bed after his nightmare. Can anyone please explain? :P And actually, I think this was a better episode than the first. Character-building and an insight to the actual plot of the series.
