Damn, happiness in this series really is hard to obtain.

I thought this was an intense episode as it shows the reality of war and hardships. Deaths are inevitable and Tanigaki knows it. The world is a cruel place. Personally, I think this was also one of the most emotional episode of the season so far.

The feels ;_;

Oh man, even though this episode was mainly filler, it still provided the life of Tanigaki and his sworn brother, Kenkichi, whom betrayed his life, for misunderstanding or not.

Oh man, I feel so bad for Tanigaki now. Even the ravages of war could not be savaged, even if it's for friendship and whatnot.

And OH God is this a very emotional episode, that's done quite magnificently. The entire 2nd half felt like truth spoken out of spite and heart-ridden qualms and regrets.

Damn, is this #QOTE (Quote of the episode).

The original cast is reunited with Tanigaki and others again...wanting to see how this will go.

Man, what a great episode this was. Without a doubt this was my favorite one from Golden Kamuy as a whole.

It was mostly a backstory ep. but it was an amazing one. I already had some respect for Tanigaki but now that I know what he had gone through, he simply has become in another character I feel attached to.

Not gonna lie, the backstory was very emotional and I feel very sorry for Kenkichi's dilemma. At first, I also thought he killed his wife but in the end, it was all an awful misunderstanding. It absolutely was very hard for him to make that decision.

At least, seeing Asirpa dancing and singing gave me some comfort in the end.

Oh boy! What an intense episode. I was not crying, you were crying!!!

Now I'm thrilled to see the tension between Ogata and Tanigaki when they come face to face again. There's no lost love between those two bad-asses.

We know more about Tanigaki's past. This episode is sad.
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Always a treat to hear Hosoyan speak in dialect.
Not surprised with the quality of this episode; the mangaka adores Tanigaki.
I was looking at this anime's page and half of the characters aren't listed. Get your goddamn shit together MAL.

Anyway this season is such an improvement to the first. I'm glad it was split into 2-cours.

Look at Tsurumi though... he loves them war stories!
Then Asirpa dancing to cleanse our hearts even further.

This backstory was so well done, the music was on point and the feels were so strong. At least Asirpa was there to calm us down, she's adorable <3

These past 2 episodes have been really good. I thought that season 2 started off a little weak but this has definitely made up for it. That backstory was really well done and very emotional. Hoping Golden Kamuy keeps up this quality until the end.

That was a great back story!

Genjirou chasing revenge for her sister, only to find out Kenkichi didn't murder her sister for the sake of it but because she willingly consented to it. What a teary story man, especially when he was about to die and Genjirou made it more sentimental when he gave him his own village's cuisine. I'm glad he remembered him.

Now that they've found Asirpa's gang I wonder what's gonna transpire next.

Great episode again,

I'm speechless, what a great episode! Probably the best episode, so emotional...
Poor guy, he had to live his life with the burden that he killed her :/

I never know what to expect from this anime, it has a lot of great comedy but you never know when episodes like this will strike.

This episode was simply powerful and emotional in every sense. It was almost entirely a backstory of Genjirou, but his story was very powerful and tragic.

His mission was one filled with revenge after he lost his sister and that led him to the front lines of war against the Russians, where by chance, he encountered Kenkichi, who he was searching for all this time, lunge himself at the suicidal Russian to save his fellow soldiers from the bombs.

Then after finding his bloodied body, still breathing, Genjoru finally gets to hear Kenkichi's story as to what happened before he passed away due to his injuries. This scene made me shed a few stars, thanks to the delivery of the story, perfectly-timed soundtrack and visuals.

And thus, the episode ended of a happier note with Asirpa's crane dance. She never fails to put a smile on my face. =)

Best episode of Golden Kamuy to date. Simply outstanding. ^_^

Damn, beautiful backstory, beautiful flashback, beautiful episode, beautiful anime

This backstory is right there among one of the best backstories like Homura's (PMMM)

Tanigaki feeding his dying friend got me, such a beautiful scene, he instantly realize it was him

What worries me tho is does this mean Tanigaki will betray them? Especially when Tsurumi told him he needs him, I know that's a flashback and all but it's gotta means something at this point right? It's foreshadowing a betrayal

Oh my heart. TT___TT

Tanigaki needs lots of hugs and pussy... or dick. He could like them both. Who knows?

Tanigaki is one of my favorite characters especially with his magnificent bushy eyebrows, his dialect, his hunting abilities and his personality. I loved learning more about his backstory.

He loves his family so much, wanted to get revenge for his sister and his mom passed away from heartache. My poor boy. I wonder how his life would have been if he didn't join the 7th division. That part where he put a piece of kanaemochi in Kenkichi and when he started crying, that hurt the most.

Also, I'm glad that they reunited with Asirpa and Sugimoto.

They adapted this really well. When people talk about 'feels' every time someone cries or dies in a show, I'd like to refer them to this episode to see how it's done without over the top manipulation and just with good storytelling.
