For me it was Die Hard 1 & 2 for many years, gets the Christmas mood going.

Do you have anime you re-watch on Christmas as a tradition of sorts? Not every year necessarily, but still a lot.
Or not anime, I'm just wondering what traditions people have, if any.

I'm thinking of mixing it up this year, watching an anime, something with the Chrismas vibe.

Question on the side: would you add anything to this "Christmas" tag on my PTW list?
I've made it based on several recommendations that I could dig up on this forum.

Detective Conan, nothing gets the mood going better than a bloody murder.

It's always been "It's a Wonderful Life", the best Christmas movie.
If you're a fanboy, please don't waste my time.

Watch more movies, please.

Perhaps, this is hell.

If we are talking about anime then Haibane Renmei. I think that series is best to rewatch between Christmas and New Year one or two episodes a day.

Once I watched Texhnolyze around Christmas. I wouldn't say that anime was perfect for the mood.

How do you pick out of like 900+ episodes and 20 something movies though?

I just ''binge'' what came out that year. So ~40 episodes + 1 movie.

No MAL entry for Christmas watching

Traditionally as of the last 3 years

Family Guy first Christmas episode (Lois losing it) and the Brian+Stewie heading to the North pole (2-parter)
listen to Starcraft 12 days of Christmas music

Not annually, but certain years:
Futurama Robot Santa (one of the episodes)

If I was by myself in watching, I'd also would have watched South Park Critter Christmas more

I've watched Tokyo Godfathers for years with friends and family, they finally dubbed it so it's more accessible too and the dub is pretty good. I can't really think of much worth going out of your way for, a lot of shows do a Christmas themed episode but not many really stand out beyond the common Toradora answer.

For movies it be...

A Christmas Story
DIE HARD
Ernest Saves Christmas

and as of late "FATMAN" and as of this year "Violent Night"

as for Anime??? I don't recall there being a Xmas themed anime, but I do tend to watch the original MEGAZONE 23 {Part One} around this time of year for some odd reason. Not every year but here or there.

Clannad seems like the most obvious answer but since it's so special to me I don't want to ruin it by watching it over and over again. It's also pretty long with 48 episodes not to mention the fact that normies aren't really able to enjoy it so it's not something I can share with my family.

It can be many things but usually Toradora or at least episode 19
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
5 Centimeters per Second
Lord of the Rings can also be good for a Christmas re-watch

I used to watch Home Alone every year but I don't really watch Christmas movies or shows. Even anime doesn't really have any Christmas type of anime only focused on Christmas for all the episodes of any which comes to mind. It's usually just one episode of the characters spending Christmas together. So I guess you can probably find a Christmas compilation video of this on YouTube I'd imagine?

I watched Tokyo Godfathers last xmas and it was such a good seasonal film, heart warming and funny as hell. Looked great too. Then you've got the Toradora xmas eve episode, i believe r/anime usually does a Toradora rewatch every year so that the xmas eve episode falls on xmas eve, I did it one year and was pretty fun. Uzaki S2 is doing the same thing with an xmas eve episode releasing on xmas day, can't wait.

Outside of anime I like Disney films at xmas such as Aladdin (animated one with Robin Williams) and Harry Potter at this time of year.

There's also a hilarious Gintama xmas episode (ep 200 or 201 iirc) which might be my favourite Gintama episode, or at least the one that made me laugh the most. Santa gets drunk so Gintoki & co take over his job, but they also get drunk and Kagura gets a stinky present, lol. Watch it drunk.

I haven't really established a Christmas anime tradition. I guess I'll just watch Tokyo Godfathers and The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya again.

I do have a New Year's tradition established though and that's to watch The End of Evangelion. I'm thinking of timing it this year so that either

For non-anime, Elf is my favourite Christmas movie (I always watch that around Christmas). Or Eyes Wide Shut if you count that as a Christmas movie.

No movies but there are some Christmas episodes of anime I will watch; there's a pretty good Christmas episode of Super Sonico..
I think the 2nd episode of GITS ARISE takes place during Christmas, at the end Borma bakes a turkey! (Saito is asleep under the table!)

Not directly a Christmas episode but the 1st part of Jupiter Jazz in Cowboy Bebop takes place on frozen Calisto where it's snowing; and seeing everyone in winter coats and the fireplace scene at Grin's place definitely have a cozy winter vibe so I love watching that one.

15th episode of Mushi-Shi "Pretense of Spring" is another really good winter episode that I've watched a lot...

I don't have one, but if Die Hard 2 is on the TV I'll stop and watch it. Nothing says X-mas like seeing Miles O'Brien from STNG Engineer crashing his plane on a very snowy DC runway.

P.S I looked at the info, and the the "Airline" and "flight number" was Windsor 114.
Me every time I hear the word "reparations": 🤣🤣🤣

I just binge watch horror movies during Christmas holidays. Last year I re-watched The hills have eyes remakes. Year before that I watched The rape of the vampire and Zirneklis. Krampus is my classic Christmas movie, so if I have nothing else I watch it.
