| Not gunna happen. Unless you watch dubs, there's not going to be any changes that Japan doesn't do to themselves. Western culture isn't gunna try to "make anime great again" or some shit. People are worrying over nothing. It's not even like there's something inherently wrong with taking influence from other cultures, it's just a matter of how it's done. With Crunchyroll being owned by Aniplex, it seems Japan has even more control on anime in the west than American companies themselves. Not to mention that partnership with American companies in anime has not lead to censorship, just look at Harem in the Labyrinth, that show was co-produced by Crunchyroll and it's still nearly a hentai. |

| I mean, on one hand, Japan is quite specific culture that overall doesn't care about input from other countries. On the other hand, Playstation moved to California and got woke, and now it seems Square Enix is following the same path. So what could happen is some of the larger anime companies basically just changing their market from Japan to mainly west and following the current west customs. |

| Luckily, I've heard that a lot of people in the anime industry know that foreign fans just wants anime to do what it usually does. In theory, some out of touch executive could see that the foreign market is bringing a lot of money and force people to make something that "appeals" to the foreign audience, but Japan's nationalistic ideas might just counter that. So, I think that it's safe for now. |
