Lol yeah, its MC is really up there with the likes of issei, just even worse. His interactions with that one chick that likes him feel horrifying since guy's like "you did so much for me, the autistic stuck up japanese male, but guess what? you have no tits so I can't appreciate anything about you or find you attractive.
I assure you, anything you think is poor translation, it's likely not. The novel's writing is horrifying. Remember the part early on where the girls get ticked at him, the issue that got resolved in the library with regards to their crush for his best pal? How it went in its novel is that the girls only did positive things for him to stop his bullying after the library reveal that they were all being manipulated, unlike anime which left it vague when they tried to help him before or after manipulation reveal.
Also, Know how he gets back together with them in the novel? saying he'll grovel and lick their feet if they let him be their friend again. That's the quality of the novel's writing. Also calls the FMC to his home (reluctantly) to insult her in front of family and again whine about her lack of tits, this happens around the part before he is friends with other girls again.
The good intentions lead to hell is something I think he said, because there's other bs there like MC going "i'm a sinful person for being too kind" kind of stuff, still abuses FMC for tits, licks feet to make friends with girls who weren't into him and broke relations with him. Issei at least only went oppai oppai but also liked asia and co.
Hisashiburi cat-dono, but what is this im seeing here? I'm guessing even the masterful writing of "ore wo suki nano wa omae dake ka yo" couldn't move your heart. It moved both my heart and soul enough to paint the walls red with my head, no brushes involved.
