| Hey there, I was wondering if you guys have any anime that you had scored high a first season and then you had scored really low the second one or viceversa. For example, I had put K-on first season a 6 but then the second season impressed me, so I scored it with a 9. That would be a gap of 3 points. Do you have animes like this on your list? |

| Zeta gundam and gundam zz used to have a 4 point difference (8 and 4) but I reconsidered because I like zz's characters and now they have a 3 point difference (8 and 5) Gundam Seed and seed destiny is 3 (7 and 4) Armitage III and the sequel movie is 4 (7 and 3) Bubblegum crisis and bubblegum crash is 3 (7 and 4) eureka 7 and AO is 4 (7 and 3) I don't know if it counts because they're both films but eva 2.22 and eva 3.33 is 6 (9 and 3) and I don't think there's anything higher on my list EDIT: there's also a 7 point gap between lotgh and a shitty prequel film (10 and 3) and an 8 point gap between turn a gundam and twilight axis (9 and 1) but those aren't even in the same continuity. kinda. |

| There's not really ever that much of a point difference between seasons for me. Ironically the only time that's happened is with an anime I knew not to take too seriously, Seikon no Qwaser. S1 gave a 7, S2 gave a 4. I firmly stand behind both of those scores though. |

| Fate Stay Night (2006) I gave a 4 and Faze Zero I gave an 8 for both seasons so a gap of 4. But the Unlimited bladeworks adaption I did give both seasons an 8. I was probably a bit harsh on the original Fate Stay night but it defiantly doesn't come close to the others. |
| Kuroshitsuji - first season was ok cause they adapted half of it faithfully to the manga, second was all anime-original and trash to say the least, third (circus arc) was amazing, so 7 to 3 to 9 (-4 points and +6 points) Tokyo Ghoul - liked the first season, second season first few eps were boring and I heard manga readers hated it so I dropped it, will read manga instead, 9 to 5 (-4 points) Fairy Tail - first series is my favorite, then for Fairy Tail (2014) they decided to change the artstyle for some reason and I hate it so I dropped it, will continue with only the manga instead, 10 to 7 (-3 points) |

| It's not a lot but I have this ones: Psycho-Pass 2 point difference (S1 at 8 and S2 at 6) Boku no Hero academia Movies have a 2 point difference too (Movie 1: Futari no Hero at 6 and Movie 2: Heroes:Rising at 8) Nanatsu no Taizai started as an 8 and each season I take away a point, it got 5 points now. |

| Both Haganai and Chuunibyou. Gave 7/10 and 8/10 to both S1s (respectively), and gave 4/10 to both S2s. Worthless trashes that reverted any character development made in S1s and just showed cringe for 12 eps. Also. Maken Ki. Gave 6/10 to S1 because it had something looking like a plot at least (also Himegami, saving grace for that anime). S2 forgot what a plot was apparently and just showed retarded big breasted women getting wasted, gave 2/10. Furthermore. Big Order. I scored it 8/10 because I liked it more than I thought I would. However, the OAV is just shit. 2/10. Shinmai Maou no Testament. Started as a better DxD with S1 (8/10). Went on as a worse DxD (6/10). Utawarerumono. S1 is straight out amazing, 9/10. S2 falls in your generic harem tropes with a lame MC and even attempts at comedy, failing mostly, 7/10. ...Oh I also have to give some positive! 3D Kanojo Real Girl. Gave 7/10 to S1 because it was quite generic (still liked it tbh). Gave 9/10 to S2 as it was really fantastic compared to S1... Kaiji. S1 is quite meh, a 6/10 for me. But S2 is really good, enough for an 8/10. And then yeah, the usual Clannad into After Story. S1 is a nice 8/10. S2 is just poooiiiifect 10/10. |

| My Hero Academia 2nd Season (8/10) to 3rd Season (6/10): I wrote a review. TL;DR characters outside of Deku-Todoroki-Bakugou don't matter in the grand scheme of things, bad fillers, bad License arc, and new character tension is not released. To LOVE-Ru (6/10) to Motto to LOVE-Ru (5/10): I haven't watched To LOVE-Ru in about eight years... I just remember finding it being boring and skipping a good chunk. lol Clannad (8/10) to Clannad: After Story (10/10): I don't even remember Clannad explicitly even though it's been five months. I do remember liking After Story much more. Felt like Clannad was good, especially the first half, but the second was underwhelming. While the After Story ending was partially underwhelming, I do like the character arcs, mainly the MC. I personally disagree when people say the MC is an awful character because of his behavior in the After Story arc. As if to say no character should have conflicts or flaws, and even when they challenge or grow out of said flaws you ignore their growth arc 👀. But, you do you, and I'll do me. Maken-ki! (6/10) to Maken-ki! Two (4/10): Six and a half years have went by since I've completed this. Maken-ki! as an anime had so much potential. It was okay, but it had a good start. I liked the characters and it seemed that a lot could be done with them + exploring powers and potential new story arcs. Maken-ki! Two basically says: "Story arcs? Characters? Exploring powers? PPFT. NO?? JUST. TIDDIES. THAT. IS. IT." No substance, no nothing. It felt like an entire OVA season. I like tiddies as a side, not as the main course of the anime. Which is why I absolutely love High School DxD. Even though I have yet to read the manga, I'm 100% positive that S2 took the Rosario+Vampire route and did filler-only for funny tiddy antics. Okusama ga Seitokaichou! (6/10) to Okusama ga Seitokaichou!+! (S2) (4/10): I don't really remember this one too much, but I do remember it just being like "why did I watch this?" I think they're equally mediocre, but I binged it all in one-go and just started to get tired of it all. Strike Witches: Operation Victory Arrow (6/10) to Brave Witches (8/10): Previous seasons were a 7/10. The OVA was just...alright. Brave Witches, loved it. I wrote quite a lengthy review. TL;DR I really like the sister and internal conflicts and characters, although I do wish the others outside of Hikari and Naoe had some screentime, because they are some damn good characters. That's the one thing I loved about Strike Witches, I feel that every girl, even though there were more than Brave Witches, had enough screentime, so basically I love them all. Also, if I could, here is how I score each saga of One Piece |

Nisemonogatari - 5 Bakemonogatari 2nd season - 9 Nisemonogatari was so hard to go through for me, and maybe because of that I didn't expect much of 2nd season and it ends up very impressive. Well, because I liked 2nd season a lot that I was willing to continue with the series, and overall it was good. |

Well, according to me Haikyuu has this formula of building up hype, building up tension, moving the characters and aligning their goals and motives in the first cour of the season and then masterfully executing it in the second cour which shows the pay-off to all the previous episodes and does justice to the hype it built up and delivers in the form of results and character development. This makes the season great overall and a very fun and satisfying show to watch However, To The Top being a 1 cour anime is only abt "build-up" for the nationals without any delivery within the season which left me unsatisfied and feeling tired of the season. Not to mention the build-up was very stale (imo), slow-paced and weight of the entire season was only on Hinata whereas in other seasons, it's distributed among the entire team. (I was legit jumping with the way they characterized Oikawa and Ushiwaka, and the other schools were potrayed to have tremendous talent and strength and their role as a huge obstacle to Karasuno felt very real. Over here however, the only build-up we get is the "it's nationals and that's why they strong" which made me lose interest in the opponents and consequently karasuno's struggle to overcome them) The bad animation and as you said wack character design quality didn't help improve my opinion on this season. Yikes!! I went on a total rant over here lol. But regardless, Haikyuu!! is still one of my fav anime and I'm really looking forward to the next season :) Ah yeah, personally I liked that it focused on Hinata and his developing observational skills but I could definitely see your points too, thanks for replying! Definitely looking forward to the next season as well!! |

| First one I can think of is OreImo. First and second seasons are both 8 and 7 respectively, while the 3 OVAs which concluded the series I gave a 3. Pure dumpster fire for the ending. But I'm satisfied with the manga ending though. |

| Overlord - I enjoyed Season 1 enough to give it a 7. Season 2 was more iffy, and then came Season 3, which I found repulsive enough to score it a 3. If there are more seasons forthcoming I don't plan to watch them. |

| The biggest difference in score goes to Adieu Galaxy Express 999, followed by Steins;Gate 0. Both are worthless sequels. The biggest increase goes to Gundam ZZ. It just isn't anything like Zeta. Phoenix has gaps because the the adaptations vary wildly in faithfulness. Rewrite and Little Busters. Terra and Refrain are garbage storylines, as far as I'm concerned. | +1 Konosuba Movie < Both seasons +1 Little Busters > Refrain Both seem like unpopular opinions so I mentioned them. I am not sure why I couldn't enjoy Konosuba Movie although it looked better. Pretty girl Megumin even looked prettier in the movie, I always liked YunYun too in both seasons. But for some reason I found the movie not as fun as S1 and S2. "The secret of the world" in LB was obvious to me since the first season, so I found 13 episodes of Refrain as chores to watch. Maybe I would like it better if it had less episodes. |

| I think nearly all the big gaps in ratings in most of my franchises (according to animeplus) is between the main series and some specials, though I think 7DS (S1 vs S3) & NGE and Petit Eva special has a difference of 6 (rated 8 and 2, respectively). |
