| this s@#t is f@#cked! it would have been nice if the kind folks running this tracker would have at least posted some kind of a warning they were going private. this really is incredibly depressing for folks like me who love older anime/manga and can no longer access their tracker. if i knew this was coming i probably would have signed up - the reason i didn't is because i currently i'm extremely broke due to getting layed off from a job and am forced to use very slow smartphone tethering for my internet hookup. this is a very hard hit on older/obscure anime/manga as public trackers don't stay seeded for long - the community in general will be f@#cked by this move in a hard way - bakabt holds huge amounts of content which should stay available to the general public if only because of its' historical value - thanks to the admins for screwing fans! |

| Probably the loss of biggest value was the ability to easily download really old anime series and OVAs. Other trackers users don't seem to care that much about pre-2005 anime, so old school fans should be the ones suffering the most right about now. That and the music collections. Otherwise it is easily replaceable, to be honest. |

No tweets, and I just logged in to check, there was not even a news post that mentions anything about the tracker becoming private. Still having slight hopes that it's some sort of mistake rather than a sudden decision. |

| The people claiming they're a private tracker now are making assumptions. There's been no announcement, so it may be temporary. The site was down for some time prior to the current non-member lockout, so it's possible they got DDoS'd somehow and are having to deal with that. |

| That's a really sad day -w- I have downloaded so much anime from there which I still have TwT My last download was Akame ga Kill! in both eng dub and english from there TwT I did download all the anime I have ever watched in my completed list so I can always go back to it and a lot of anime I haven't watched so that's a comforting feeling (although some better files have been added later on which sucks since I took my sweet time TwT) :3 Also my Bakabt was bad since at the time I didn't know about seed and leechers so I had red -w- |
