| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Good start, I kinda like with the historical-military themes. The pacing kinda feels like it dropped you into the middle of the story though. In the meantime, we got an alternate setting around the 1940s (WWII). I feel like there's a blend of realism and military fiction. There's some minor service but I didn't find it distracting at all. Fine (the blonde girl) seems like an interesting character so far. I think the show has potential.  |

| Not bad at all. Some small suspension of disbelief breakers, but I thought it was well paced and well directed. Art and animation fit the setting, and I especially like the Germanian designs. Fine is a strong lead so far. And the yuri bait man, everyone get on board! |

| That was great, I loved this. Excellent start. The first segment felt really magical, Got chills. Art looks beautiful and the animation is crisp, The soundtrack is fantastic too. The train encounter was really exciting to watch and that jump escape was just awesome. I love Fine already, First episode bath scene plus she looked beautiful in that dress. <3 Love how convicted she is and the lengths she was willing to sacrifice herself in order to save her country was really respect worthy. From her negotiations with the Britannian ambassador to that audacious declaration aboard the plane in front of the enemy soldiers, She was just so cool, Inspiring even. XD The story especially with the small nation defending itself against the all powerful empire seems very reminiscent of Valkyria Chronicles but with a more political narrative I suppose. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to how this is gonna play out. Also rifle broomstick FTW. |

| this was a pretty good start, i especially liked the music in this episode. the protagonist and the alternate history setting seem interesting too, looking forward to how this continues. |

| This surprised me, im honestly impressed with this first episode. Everything was done pretty nicely and I enjoyed the scenes on the train. Most of the invasion scenes were the ones we saw in the preview and I hope the rest of the series keeps up the decent CG for the aircraft and thanks. My favorite thing about the series is the ost, hooked me instantly and works well with the setting. Gonna keep my expectations low until I see 2-3 more episodes but this series definitely had a strong start in my opinion. I just hope it doesn't go the 'girl single handily turns tide of the war' approach. |

| That was a very strong start.The princess isn't an annoying and weenie brat and that makes her more likable to me.I like the setting of the WWII and the action is intense.I hope the witch will be a good character as well.Let's see their interactions next week.Maybe we will see a much more detailed flashback about their first meeting. |

| This wasn't an amazing start, but it wasn't too bad. Of course it's only the first episode so I'm not going to judge it too harshly just yet, but if it keeps this up then this show could potentially be a decent surprise in a rather lackluster season. |

| A good start. I'm intrigued in the story for sure. I did notice a little bit of service which made me roll my eyes but apart from that this show definitely takes itself seriously, which I appreciate. I feel like this will be one of the better shows this season. |

| I'm a sucker for historical dramas, so I'm in! I usually don't watch anything other then Japanese dub, but I'm sure this already good show will be even a little bit better if it gets German dub in the future, like Girls und Panzer got. Guess I have to check amazon.de regularly for Izetta-DVDs later on! |

| Splendid first start! Some really great action pieces with the daring train escape and the eventual plane rescue of Finé by Izetta was exciting! The art and animation is really lovely, the characters are splendid and the CGI works every effectively. WWII as a backdrop with seemingly fictional countries pretty clever but they could have been a bit more clever with the naming schemes and maybe altering the map of Europe a bit more. Renaming the countries you might as well rework the geography as well but that's a minor nitpick. The music score is fantastic I might just be seeking this one out down the line at some point. Great start to the fall season I can't wait for more. |

| Pretty good start, and I like Fine's character. The animation was pretty nice. One problem I have with episode is the witch. Also the episode felt a little dragged out for some reason, maybe that was my own patience. I'm looking forward to ep 2 though. |

| Wasn't a bad a start. I think Fine and Izetta have the possibly to be really strong characters if done right even though I do sense a bit of yuri in it (not a fan of yuri just saying). The plot was simple enough but I wish it had some sort of unique world building. Maybe they could've explain a bit more about the witches as I think that would draw people more into the story. Overall it was decent but could've been way worse. The two main leads I think have potentially to be strong female characters if done right. The story was a bit on the simple side but I do hope the witches have a big role in it so that it would make it more interesting. Hope the story can stay decent as I am a bit worried it could have pacing issues but we will have to say. |
| What a kick start! WW2 theme, and quite fascinating with the background, and witch Izetta. I do love it with its realism, military fiction and the unnatural twist! tbh i really love this combo of story! Just by 1 episode this might be one heck of a anime, i mean the animation, i most say is really beautiful, and the Sound is great and incredible designs. diffidently will be excited about this story! |
