GloryStory in the credits but did they actually use it? I didn't hear it. Also about the T28/95 removing rear armor track thing, wouldn't that make it weaker like maybe the firefly should have attacked it on the side, less armor now after all. I'm still bitter about leaving out the Maus without even a mention while the Tortoise was mentioned. We could have had an epic Maus vs T95 showdown but nope. The T95 fight ended up forgettable compared to Maus and Karl fight. |

That was fucking awesome, I loved every moment of it. I think they could have given Hana some more screentime but besides that I thought they did a great effort in making the series even better (and louder). Up there with Mad Max: Fury Road as one of the best action movies of the decade imo. Hopefully since this film seems to have been very successful we'll be seeing a season 2. |

Seems almost everyone liked this. I thought it was much worse than the series. The series had character development; we got to see Miho grow, and the teams come together. The movie is like watching a World of Tanks playthrough. The amusement park scenes look like they were animated by a game engine. |

Just a bit sad that Gloriana didn't bring a Cromwell That's ironic since this show isn't known for including prototype/paper tanks. Although a lot of the stuff shown is less well known than the ubiquitous tiger/sherman/panther/T-34, almost all of the tanks in the show saw widespread service. Porsche Tiger, Maus and T95 are the exceptions, rather than the norm. ...If you want to see a shitload of paper/prototype tanks in all their semi-fictional glory, go play world of tanks. |

Nishi and the rest of Chi-ha-tan Academy were hilarious with their "CHARGE!" attacks. "Re-treat-ing!" "We-are-charging!" "If this continues, it will just be shameful!" That Mika girl from the Finnish school seemed interesting as well, and her playing the Kantele was nice, but I got the impression from her earlier lines that she'd have a more important role as a character. Oh well, at least her action scene was pretty cool. EDIT: I think it would be interesting to have spin-off series focused on other characters and schools, like that Girls und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior manga. It would make it easier for the story to not get too repetitive, since there could be different motivations, combat styles, etc. |

That was a dang good movie. I finished watching it yesterday. I went into it with somewhat low expectations as I was wondering why the heck they even needed a film, but seeing the actual movie. It was a fantastic film and the battle had me both hyped and worried the entire time. And that ending move was freaking brilliant, didn't expect her to pull something like that at all. Anyway, 10/10. |

Citing the plot as a reason to dock a point feels like doing likewise for Mad Max: Fury Road - equally valid, and equally invalid. Of course, if it lessens your enjoyment then more power to you, do rate accordingly. Waited to watch until I had a full free evening for it. I just wrote at the Cute Girls Doing Cute Things club: nDroae said: ♬THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT♬ I cried three times, spent the rest of the time laughing or on the edge of my seat, sometimes all three at once, forget AotS or AotY, it could be my #1 anything I see this year. I wish I could understand why I feel like I love even the minor characters in GuP more than the main characters of most other shows I've watched. One fan theory I read a while back was that all the other leaders would join Miho for the world cup in season 2. I didn't know that would happen in this movie until I saw it today. Was not expecting it and could hardly believe it. Glad we got to see it. |

Operation Kill Serve made this more than just worth it. With that one scene, the Finnish team absolutely stole the show (and some tank parts as well). A shame that they and the other new team didn't make it into the TV anime, because both were probably the most enjoyable teams to watch. That, plus Mamiko Noto for the Finnish team. Adding her is always a win. |

Another thing worth noting is the existence of Karl Gerat with laser-pointer accuracy. Even if somehow Maho was able to field it, it would be rekt'd pretty fast from that unbalanced arty. |

This movie exceeded my expectations for the GuP franchise. The tank battles are really great and pure fun. Sure its not realistic but who cares they were pretty awesome in my book. The characters are still very likeable. For me, I don't have any problem with the plot being "rehashed" since the TV series was about Oarai preventing the school from being closed by winning the tournament while the movie is about Oarai taking back the schoolship after MEXT head backed out on their verbal agreement to not close the school by winning against a University all-stars Senshado team. This movie is for GuP fans that really appreciate what the TV series had done. Hopefully, this is not the end(based on some sequel hooks mentioned in the movie) of GuP. If not, I'm happy that GuP anime and movie ended on a high note. |

A very fun and enjoyable movies. Much better than most action anime out there. This is how action genre anime should be done. It's a cute girls doing cute things anime but Girl und Panzer still rank one of the best action anime out there for me. |
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion. http://www.classzone.com/books/lnetwork_gr08/page_build.cfm?content=analyz_media&ch=30 It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. GG!! simply amazing work. i seriously didn't expect much but still was exited to see this movie but it was beyond my expectation. seriously. well, i have read the synopsis before and i know the gist of the plot. it was about another battle with a university team so that they can live at their school, their homeplace again. but there are a few things which really suprised me and it indeed went beyond my expectation. the first one is the animation. i know that i'm very stupid for getting suprised at the animation even tho it's a movie. it make sense that this move has that kind of animation. but still, even if i expected it to be so good, the animation was still went beyond my expectation cause i forgot about the CGI being used in this anime. for the tanks fight, most of the scene, they used CGI for it and it looked freaking amazing and awsome AF imo, but bit by bit they used 2d animation if it necesarry too. and for the rest, they just throw it off into the non-action scene and it beyond my expectation. they even drew the detail, background, shadow, character properly that it even looked so freaking realistic even tho it's not real. that's what i like about the animation. second, i didn't expect for the character development between Miho and her sister character development, moreover their teamwork as sisters in the freaking ending. that one was the best moment, i mean, one of the best moments other than the ferris wheel scene LMAO xD. i think they got closer more than before from that teamwork. that fight, between the university team, really a great experience for all of them. teamwork, strategy, skills, that experience will polish all of their feature as a tank girl, lol, i mean panzer girl. and i really like that point. it will bring the relationship between other school more closer than before and together they fight, fight, and fight while at the same time they polish everything they have into something more stronger as a panzer girl. the third one is, the game place setting. IT WAS SO FREAKING LARGE AF! xD didn't expect that at all, especially that amusment park. when i saw the amusmentpark i got exited so much cause to think at how Miho fight. her fighting style. always taking advantage on her surroundings. and to think the place was a very big amusement park, especially they were fighting with thanks A.K.A military weapon which always/usually being used in a war, in a very open place like mountain, forest or hill, and this one, having a fight, in an amusement park, with that kind of character riding it. a girl on top of that. and it's a fight not a war on top of that. the result is that ferrish wheel LMAO. i LMAO at that scene cause seeing them using the ferrish wheel, shoothing at it so that it could became their sheild, and seeing the wheel going here and there, so freaking funny and smart xD one of the best scene from this movie imo. i guess that's all the things which made me suprised. story, plot, character, animation and soundtrack was done properly and executed very well imo. the new characters was unexpected for me tho but it was just a minor things to me except one bunch of a girls. the girls who was always holding a music instrument, just who the fck was that ?! i mean, i don't even know her name lol, nor even know where is she come from. so mysterious but i like it xD and i like the fact that this fight, they has something at stake or they has reason to fight, a big one on top of that which "lose" is out of question for them, although on the other side (university) their reason wasn't really that big imo xD but for her, it was indeed a big reason to fight xD and i like the fact that the fight was not a one sided fight too, not even from the beginning. and i like the fact that they always looked calm and were trying to figure it out the next plan, to understand the situation, think for the every possibility, make a plan and execute the plan. really like that a lot to see how strong, calm and fun they were while fighting the enemy. each team not only doing it half ass but they were all putting their effort in that game too either if they have reasons or not. when they fight, they will got all out, if not, it would be rude for the other opponent. AND that's my next point which is really well made in this movie once again; sportsmanship. really like at how they were still keeping the sportsmanship aura so strong in this movie, heck, i think it was even more stronger than the TV series. putting all of their effort into it. always play fair. they became friend in the end and they together will improve their abilities/feature as a panzer girl, improve their skills more and more together with fighting eachother. putting a military weapon and making it into a sports show. really brilliant idea imo. and to make it more fun and interesting in some way, they made it into a sport which only for girls or a sports which usually played by girls either school girls or some girls from a university. really interesting and entertaining as a result of it especially how they made the animation for this idea or concept of the story. i'm not a big fan or a maniac when it comes to tanks, but i must say that the action, the tank action in this movie was awsome and amazing. rather than watching a war with tanks, i had rather watch this movie cause i think it looks more interesting when they fight eachother rather than when tanks fight eachother at war with just shooting at eachother without doing anything. just move foward, backward, and shoot. that's what usually happen in a war for tanks, from what i have seen so far. but from this anime, you can see tanks did a very interesting thing than moving foward, backward and shoot or more like did a very absurd thing. like, drifting, fighting a tanks on rollercoaster, etc. great movie overall imo. i don't have any words left anymore. 9.5/10 i'm very happy today cause of this movie. i really appreciated the staff and studio's efforts and hard works for making this movie. Thanks for the movie :D wish to see more ;_; it's okay if it's a movie again :D no, i hope it's a movie so that the staff could took their time to make the animation :D |

Finished watching the film today, but with English subtitles, so my comments will pour on the impressions that gave me the video of the film: The beginning was a bit confused even if the action and the battle between the tanks, it was not bad. then surprised me the next part in the first fight, but I immediately had a premonition in the second part that the final would be in favor of the protagonists, unfortunately this is the only flaw I found in the movie. I loved the fact that not only Miporin was the only star to shine during the clash in the second round, but I felt as if the interest of the other girls from other teams, was constant and on the same level of the team Oarai. Technically and visually I found it really good as quality. But now I want an anime series that I do know all the characters seen in this film. For now, my vote is 8/10. |

Woooow... I was cringing at a lot of ridiculous stuff, but after thinking about it on the grounds of, say, a marvel movie, the silliness is acceptable. On top of that -url=http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1518765]a certain trivia thread[/url] showed me there was way more military-otaku fanservice than meets the eye, and a lot of things that weren't quite as unrealistic as you might have thought (tanks fly!) Okay, that was pretty damn good. A lot better than the TV series IMO. The whole where all the other girls from the schools come join was great and the whole battle itself was good. My God, that last battle was brilliant. It's like the whole movie was preparing us for that, giving us small fighting sequences here and there, leading us to a glorious finish. At first I was a bit "disappointed" you could say, waiting to see the prodigy Alice (teddy girl) justify her status by doing something our of the ordinary. Instead I failed to see that her real skills were smart warfare coupled with unreal 1v1 maneuvers. Nothing special, nothing fancy to make her stand out- simply skills honed to perfection. Wonderful. |

Rabbit team , Volleyball team name I forgotten but their actions I Do. Ferris Wheel, the I don't know if possible Tank carry tank moment. And all those weird tactis they use. Which also seen impossible... Overall great anime. A true Tank vs tank Sport. With great characters that have no evil intentions. 8/10 makes me got awe at times. |

The presentation of this movie is excellent. I felt each team got their chance to show off a little. Too bad most of the strategy wasn't from the commander. Miho's overall input was pretty mediocre. Not only was there no real flash of genius from her at any point, but if it wasn't for the bear, she would've ****ing lost. Feels like a cheap and hollow victory.. let's hope season 2 will rectify that. |

Whether Miho/PanzerIV got eliminated by Alice/Centurion during the time or not, it doesn't matter since they still have Maho/Tiger1 to battle Alice/Centurion since this is an elimination match. They just didn't pick that route since the movie want to showcase the Nishizumi sisters teamwork. You also missed the point that Miho is not used to do command by the book. She does command in her own way. Maho even reminded her about that. She also let her teammates do their own abilities in handling the problems that come to them. |

Miho being shot at that point would still have been a grave miscalculation and a personal loss in a advantageous situation. Whether her sister would manage to win beyond that is not something I'm concerned with. Also, I'm pretty well aware of Miho's unusual methods, but after the poor judgement of taking the hill, what came afterwards was basically "Everyone, look after yourselves", there was no real coherent grand strategy. Her movements were more of simple reaction and no real tactics. And while I understand it's very difficult to command a bunch of disparate and independently competent teams, I can't help but feel that the victory was largely a fluke, based on the randomness of her last minute allies and not because of an intelligent battle plan from Miho herself. In contrast, Alice commanded her team smoothly, first pressing with the ambush at the hill, & swiftly reacting to the opponents resistance of being split up. I think it's fair to say Alice had tactically guided her team to the situation at the ferris wheel, but due to incompetent teammates, the lost that particular battle. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Miho. I like that she is one of the rare girl characters with actual intelligence (and a soothingly calm countenance). I would like to see her abilities shine through in the second season (if there is to be one). |

In all seriousness. Does anybody want to start up a Girls und Panzer club on here? I really would like to hear multiple opinions about a second season. |

Really nice movie. Especially after checking the trivia thread..wow, what level of detail and amount of references. And then we have anime where the MC forgets his powers between two scenes. I could do with less detail than GuP (because i don't check most anyways) and a bit more consistency overall (not in GuP, they did a really GuP good job) I would definitely watch another season. I don't see any reason for them not to use the upcoming world championship, i don't think it would be repetitive. Even if, they could show us more about the other teams, e.g. the matches Pravda etc. did in the first contest, we only followed Oorai. Or the full match which made Miho quit, we only got that flash back. Or make a time skip, and Miho is now working as full-time instructor or whatever. Characters growing up worked for Nanoha, why wouldn't it work here? They could also use modern tanks. Or show us a fight against Oorai, as in, from the opponents view. They did that for a few minutes in the anime, but a full match or season? Follow another team, and have them end up fighting Oorai in the finals. Maybe even with Oorai as the favorite, the better equip and trained team etc. I also just saw on the wiki that they actually have quite a bit of background story for the schools. Kuromorimine being established in 1754..they could throw in some historic matches (without tanks obviously). So a lot of things they can do to spice up things. |
